Because strong interfereres would saturate the ADC, causing the wanted signal to be lost. So, we need an ADC to cover both interferes and weak desired signal (with adequate accuarcy). This would require a high dynamic range (or number of bits).

why we need to worry about unwanted interferance bits number i.e. extra bits from 6 to 16bits...???
