I've seen youtube videos, and I think that that they are a lot more well-made. Cos even the angle, to see which side gets the most light, and good "feng shui", is checked. But the UK flats, not all of them, are checked for the internal lightings. This is the problem. So it can look gloomy and super dark. When people buy in the UK, check the position of the room. Whether North-facing or South-facing etc. It should have a lot more glass as well.... (I think some of the locals must actually have colour blindness, cos they cannot assess the light amount that comes into the building....)

You can get freehold on houses. But very rare to get freehold on apartments or flats. You would not be able to get a freehold on this building. Cos it is listed. This is why it is so cheap to buy. But if it works for your purpose, to stay close to an area, and work, then this is to your advantage. And then sell off later.. or to an ex-colleague etc. He is trying to market for you, as a BTL... cos he assumes that most families or most couples would ALL of the mod cons. But you can renovate the inside while you live there, and to add value when selling on. Looking at those closet flats in HK... I think this one, is luxurious ! Lol... But maintenance fee is high... Plus council tax. Houses do not have maintenance fees, but council taxes can be super high. But if the council tax here is low, and then maintenance fee is here... and you save on taking trains or more high paid jobs by the location, then it is worth considering.
Locals do like houses, and they like to be a part of their extended family or their community.. and near the pub. Most people like village lifestyle. Or country lifestyle. This is why these old apartments, OR new apartments are not shifting. I think the intention was indeed to be like New York Loft Lifestyle... but this has kind of been reversed a lot in the past 10 years or so.... Some of the loft-style living, is nearer to the Gay Village.. And some of the famous singing groups, or football players, used to buy and flip those houses.. But now, they have moved out and into mansions into outer Manchester... The music and clubs were very big scene in Manchester from late 1990s, to early 2010s.... That is why. But the uplift is no longer there. They have made their money and moved out already.
Adrian, good points! LOL! Many of HK people don''t even know most of the valuable lands (especially in London) are leasehold and not freehold. They don't even know what is a peppercorn lease! It means 99 years lease and most of the banks are happy to do loans.

Malvin 有钱和长住的人最好不买apartment. Apartments 一般是lease hold. 每月交给free holder 楼主的钱不少。我们现用于出租的那套二室apartment 每月是2oo镑以上。而且每年的管理费都在涨,好令人不安哟!我们决定以后再也不买 公寓了!houses 都不会有这笔钱,当然houses 外面需要自己保养。但连排房只有前后需养护,不会太费力。其实,独立房也不是很费精力养护的。主要是推草剪枝,不是大问题,一般不需请人。作为房主,无论什么房,尽量学做diy 养护工作,因为请人做事很贵,

如果帶住小朋友去英國,又未想買樓住睇定啲時,租一兩年apartment做適應期我覺得最好,因為畢竟apartment既模式似返係香港,唔係個個係香港住左廿幾三十年一野去到就適應到新環境。如果帶住小朋友一野就走去住house,會頭都痕埋,house既(垃圾回收、水電問題、蛇蟲鼠蟻問題、治安安全問題⋯⋯),但周邊環境又未熟時都唔知搵邊個幫求救。
不要找平价屋便沒有這問題!

電暖爐,高電費低回報暖氣。同時很乾噪的空氣丶沒有天然氣暖爐的好。因為住apartment/condominium 大部分是電力供應的暖爐。管理費每個月必供沒有供完。不同獨立屋之好處而且保值和年年升值。居住環境附近丶生活安寧與犯罪案件之多少亦是表示那區小孩讀書學校的質素。因為是跟隨你的住址而屬於那間中丶小學。大學就視乎你自己成績丶興趣和撰擇。

英国治那里都是问题,只不过程度不同而已。英国天天因暴死人,主要是刀所致,不像美枪所致。不过,不耍害怕,英国有不少的安全地方,地区和城镇,但一定要好好下功夫选择居住之地。

唔係用香港價值觀去睇同比較,會優化左項目。當地人有當地人標準同指標。而且report出黎都好個人喜好。
點解一個人買屋,要有三個agent咁多?四,五里回報,有好多都冇計,例如維修,地稅,樓宇燕梳,空置時間,外國同香港好唔同,租盤未必承接得咁快,租客與租客之間可能會有一兩個月空置期,要視乎當地市場。
聽聞有嗰盤叫One Regent , 有冇機會介紹一下?
其實apartment 係香港人先會中意 租出去當然唔成問題但到時要賣出去就最怕有價無市

同加拿大/澳洲比較,英國大多地方apartment 配套同設計比較差d,好多連花園都無,近年先有基本會所設施
另外Terrace house你可做landlord,而apartment好像有年期的
