We got our first Siberian Husky last week and are having a ball. His name is DJ and he is 9 weeks. I have had Labs, Rottweilers, and Shepherds over the last 50 yrs and this Husky is by far the smartest and easiest to train. He lets me know every time he needs to go out. So far only one accident in 5 days. He is going to be inside forever, which was the plan. We take him to work everyday and he rides on my wifes lap and loves riding. While at work he lays under her desk in the office and lets her know when its potty time. Loves the grandkids and they all want one as well......I have watched about 12 of your videos and learned a lot, thank you for sharing. Your presentation is excellent...……….Looking forward to the rest...…..

You need to put seat belts on your dogs when riding in the car.there are seat belts that you can buy for dogs.just Google information.pet stores may sell them.remember to keep your pets safe.

Getting a Husky is easy. Lots of people get them and then realize they don't have the time to spend with them after they eat the couch and several pairs of shoes. You can go to most shelters and find at least one Husky. I got mine from someone who after a year and a half realized she wasn't financially stable enough to keep the dog. Huskys are pretty dogs and that is why people like them but they rarely take into account how much attention the dog needs .... for 14 or so years. I've owned many dogs in my life and from my experience Huskys are best suited for retired people or people who live on farms.
The Trump News Network Yeah,I have been doing a lot of research on them for the last 6 months and I won’t be getting one yet. I need to wait until I have a fenced in yard. But I only work 18 hours a week so my schedule suits them. Our shelters here only get like one a year if that. We live in a very very small town. But I def plan on checking there first when the time is right. But since I have kitties that are scared of dogs I would prob be better off getting a puppy first that’s why I was curious.
@@SmokedAlive The question is whether you'll only be working 18 hours a week for the next 14 years. You might consider a Shepard if you like wolf dogs. They are much more tolerant of being alone in the house or being alone in general and they are much easier to train. I'm retired so having a dog that needs constant 24/7 attention is a good match for me. But if I was still working I'd probably get a Shepard over the other wolf dogs just because their drive to obey is very strong and they are also excellent protection dogs.
@@SmokedAlive Dog and cats learn to live together rather quickly. The newcomer needs to be caged for a day or 2 but it's pretty easy. Let each pet so you pet the other but the first should be petted extra in front of the new pet so the new pet understands that the old pet is alpha

Ummm a lot of us are just random pet owners who enjoy his content he isnt responsible for anyone's choices and he puts a fun spin on educating. As a dog trainer and owner I love and appreciate his content.
I think if anything, he does an excellent job educating potential future dog owners on everything involved with owning a husky. He has so many videos that are filled with extremely helpful information, both about the breed & proper training and care.
You have a point actually, this video does show a VERY CALM HUSKY which is not done without TONS OF WORK. He has done videos and actually suggested people DO NOT GET A HUSKY if they cant do the kind of exercise he does with his dogs. Its rigorous, his routine. So he is pretty balanced honestly. But i do here your point, just recently met a woman walking her 2.5 yo husky that a college kid kept chained in a back yard with no way to exercise so she got it some how to rescue it. Now im looking for issues i see also. Btw i have 2 husks 2 yo and 1 yo.
I understand not everyone is irresponsible, but I’ve recently seen so many huskies in shelters and it makes me sad. He is a GREAT owner, but I just feel like it shows people calm Huskies, and they may get them thinking they are calm. Which of course, isn’t true.
wobbly nostrils it’s not. I just think he may be able to do a little more to deter irresponsible people from getting them is all.
