- Iannis Xenakis (1922 - 2001)
Nekuia pour choeur mixte et orchestre symphonique (1981)
By its very theme, "a funeral ceremony and a magic rite in which the spirits of the dead are called forth and questioned on life in the future. The general idea of this music is the profound cry of the ideologies crossing the surface of our planet, often to the noises of street demonstrations, explosions and shouts, under a sky that is sometimes dark, but sometimes of a splendid azure." In a climate of controlled violence, this work blends the poignant savagery of the ancient rites with visions of our everyday universe. Admirably interpreted by the Radio Cologne choir, one of Europe's leading groups, and the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Cologne, Nekuia is, again, conducted by Michel Tabachnik in this 1982 recording.

I like how Xenakis only lived 9 years when he composed this piece. This is extraprdinary from him, RIP
I don't quite understand your sentence. However, this piece he composed in 1981 and he died in 2001.
this is very extraprdinary indeed :D

Indeed
Wonderful lines, very melodic in many parts
I lost nnn to this
yo this is great
It's intriguing how Xenakis adopted a slightly different style / idiom whenever he composed works that include human voices. Polla Ta Dhina, Cendrees and Anamoessis are all excellent in their own way but for me this is my favourite.
very good
So tragic...
Cool

Epic
It's close to the experience of listening to ordinary classical music.
It's more melodic/thematic than many other pieces of time, That's för sure! But still very nice

It has homages of Penderecki in it!
Perhaps it was the contrary: in Penderecki's music, there is something from Xenakis... Xenakis hated Penderecki!
@@fredericbezian9535 His music is more one -dimensional than Xenakis.
neko nya!
