Go Chappie! An excellent showing! I can only imagine what Finnish Brutality would have been like for you if you had used a MAS 49-56 with its 10 rounds, and subsequently how much the 540 must have been appreciated when it first landed in French hands.
Congrats! The first 10 seconds of the video were miraculous. The first youtube channel ever where the intro tune is moderate volume and the speech afterwards is well audible if you don't turn your volume up a lot (after you turned it to almost nothing during the intro theme)! Actually very well set, pleasant to watch for that. I hope you don't ever have to go to the Lohtaja beaches in the western shore of Finland. People find the sand in their gear even 6 months later. You did very well despite all the misfortunes!

Exactly! When I saw that I thought damn that looks not fun (in a good way for the competition). Running in water is hard enough, but ice cold water is discomfort to the max. Perfect for brutality

Good job Chap. Just a note. In real life you are supposed to note the time the tourniquet is applied so it does not cause issues by being on too long. Ever since I first saw Desert Brutality on Ian and Karl's channels have always wanted to try this but finances have never allowed the training ahead of time, ammo cost, and the travel.
It takes a lot of self control when fired up. Yeeting it far past the last line gains you nothing since you will have to throw it all the way back before it starts to count again.
You did really well fabien,especially on the kasarda drill that was beast mode with those throws. And you did all this with iron sights which in itself is brutal especially for your first brutality,it was kinda madness to attempt with it haha . Your rig/outfit looked super cool i really dig it.

Number one thing that helps prevent fogging is air flow. I find glasses don't fog too bad in the cold anyways, it's when you go back into the warmth that you're instantly blind
Iron sights and an iron will, Chap is Da' Man! Battey operated toys are for the bedroom! Extra bonus "balls of bass" points for being the only competitor I've seen so far in this match shooting a proper battle rifle caliber of 7.62mm, as to playing from the Ladies tee box that is 5.56mm

Great to see the SIG 540, immensely jealous. Do you know if they improved the rear sight drum detent on the 550? Would you be able to drop in the sights for a 550?
They did, you need more force to twist the drum on the 550. The drums are not interchangeable. The rear sight on the 550 is adjustable in elevation and windage, on the 540 its windage only, with elevation adjusted with the front sight.
Chap, I noticed you shoot pistol left handed, and rifle right handed. Are you a natural lefty? Also thank you for posting the stage diagrams. It is hard to tell the ranges on video, so the diagrams really help.
Natural lefty who chose to learn to shoot rifle right handed due to the lack of leftie rifles in the 90s. If starting out nowadays I probably wouldn't do it since there has been a move to ambidextrous controls etc although it still sucks for milsurp.
What military forage cap are you wearing in this video as you are getting into the truck? Love the cut, would work well in the desert with that neck cover.

I really got lucky on my original outfit which I pieced together the trousers, jacket and cap from Swiss small ads, and in my size too! It’s highly sought after, the only European repro stuff I know of is available at doursoux.com, search for Lizard.
A idea of video hould be the costs it takes to participate at this awesome event. ( voyage, hôtel, frais d'envoi des armes, prix de la participation etc etc...
Since we are part of the “crew” which stay on site we don’t see the whole cost picture, also each country/airline will have their own procedures and costs for transporting weapons etc.
In TST division you'd have to wear the drysuit for the whole match!!! Someone in Open division did wear either a wetsuit or a drysuit for the lolz though!
2:50 you should get a headlamp. I really like the one I have. I can put it at low light settings(like 75 lumens) for reading at night, or higher 200 lumens for walking about.

When starting out shooting rifle as a teen I deliberately chose to learn right handed due to the lack of left-handed rifles. For pistol shooting it doesn’t really matter.
Interesting. I never thought of doing that, I've always just shot rifles "wrong" handed. It obviously works for you because you are a much better shooter than I am.
I experimented when I was on reset duty for that stage for a whole morning. No problem shouldering from waist height out of the NASU but very hard to do from the ground due to lack of structure of the dummy. IF you manage to sling him on your first try it is indeed great, but if you screw up you’re going to waste precious time trying to correct the hold or change the hold and worse injure yourself trying to balance 60kg at an odd angle. The vast majority chose to play it safe and go for the drag.
Chap's most definitely doesn't have the 3 round burst. Which is why he managed to transport it over borders from Switzerland to Finland ;) That rifle is a factory semi :)
What is the purpose of this activity Chappie? Law enforcement, military training, counter terrorism preparedness, or any other justifiable training in antipersonnel shooting. On this issue I have recently LEARNED, that all of this is documented (on TH-cam) and available for law enforcement to present at trial IF you ever are accused of using your weapons in a murder trial where you were (thinking) you were only defending yourself. Just some thoughts for you.

Chap is pretty good with the pistol, he blasts through most pistol stages with ease, and that with a stock Glock with no optics and no compensator.

Get lucky online like I did. You can find new CE or plain green ones relatively easily but these léopard ones are scarce.
