    Love the fact that you visit non-touristy places and make, what on the surface would be un-intersting destinations interesting. Really enjoyed this x

      Thanks Barry (and Hi Sarah). We do try to find interesting little quirks in each place we go. Everywhere has something to love if you look for it.
      Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

      Salut Vicent,
      Darren a découvert beaucoup de villages en faisant du VTT, mais c'est très proche de notre village.
      Beaucoup d'amour Alison et Darren 💜🤟

    Interesting about the the carobs, we would likely have tried it from the trees too as you did. Not sure how it's meant to be enjoyed as a trail snack, I would've assumed there's seeds in there to take out, but seemingly it's the whole pod!
    I read about the seeds being used for coffee - we tried that with date pips and was surprised how amazing that turned out!
    Can I ask what wireless microphones you guys use? We're looking into getting one and not sure what's best, as we need one where both of us can be heard when we speak, but when I looked into it it seemed like some only worked one at a time. So then I got confused and stopped looking 😂

      We just chewed the pods and spat out the seeds.🤣😂 They were good. I googled what to do with them, then our world went a bit crazy (Spoiler Alert, we have signed the contract for sale on our house and now have to get all our stuff sorted ready to leave) and the pods are still sitting in a bag in our larder. 🤦🏼‍♀️
      Our microphones are Hollyland. Darren is going to send you the info by PM.💜🤟

    Hollow little village, perhaps the inhabitants only emerge after dark, when there's a full moon?

    Morning guys. Algarrobas (carobs) are used in medicines and are harvested a lot here. Many years ago they were just used for animal feed. The smell you could smell is probably algarrobas in people's garages going off! Lots of that smell here in the village atm! As for picking them from the tree, it's a no no but you can collect them or other fruit from the ground.. the locals frown apon people nicking their crop however it looks like you were in a very public place! Good luck with the cats, I would love to take one but unfortunately I am allergic!

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nina..! I (Alison) knew that goats love Carob pods, but didn't know that had been the predominant use. Thankfully we only took a few pods and as you spotted, the tree was in a very public place, near the Ermita, but we still won't be doing it again, now that we know. It's the same rule for the oranges grown here. Picking them from the floor is normal, although we haven't needed to do so because our neighbours have always kept us very well stocked from their groves. 🤣
      Gone off Algarrobas, not a scent that I would want to use as a perfume...🤣🤣😂🤣
      Thanks for watching sweetie, 💜 🤟

    This town may look idyllic however, its animal rights policy is horrendous!!
    Dogs thrown in the street, hunting attitude!!
    This town and the surrounding villages are not places to go and live if you live animals. Their record here for abandoned dogs is disgusting.
    Sorry, but it’s the truth 😩😩

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Zoe,
      Sadly that seems to be the case for a lot of the more rural villages, including the areas around our village. The animal welfare laws that were changed and put in place at the end of 2023 trying to prevent animal cruelty and abandonment, unfortunately excludes the group of people most likely to partake. The hunters. We can only try to educate the younger generations and hope that the attitude to hunting and treatment of hunting animals will change in years to come. Until then we have to rely on animal rescues and rescuers to try to stem the tides, finding loving homes for those fortunate enough to be found.
      Take care and much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
