What she said the first time was that someone brought Gaga up to her and she didn't know anything about her, but that she supported all newcomers to the business. And people were like "omg she called her a newcomer, how dare she?" stupid bullshit. Since then, Christina has always been supportive of Gaga and praised her.

I’ll never forget that performance. It was during the time the media pegged Gaga as being over. Christina was struggling at the time too in the charts, so it just felt like a big F You to all the haters. Truly underrated and iconic

I was thinking that too. You could see in her eyes she went through a lot of stuff she has never spoken openly about which is really, really sad.
She was also abused by her father, so makes sense that she didn't want to relive/speak about it in full detail, coz it was triggering for her to talk about it.

The thing was back in 2008, they were comparing them because Christina had come out with this new look with the straight blonde hair with bangs and her more futuristic sound, around the time Lady Gaga was stepping onto the scene and they were saying, Christina stole Gaga’s look.

Lady Gaga's management was stupid af for not pushing the remix. The record would've been more successful
I think that was because the performance they did on The Voice was a last minute decision. Then the performance was everywhere in the media the morning after, but when they decided to record a studio version it was already too late and the hype died down. The controversy with DWUW was too much, so it's not a surprise that Gaga's team wanted to move on asap.
They should have re-shot the video with Xtina instead and released it. That song could have been (& should have been) way bigger!!!

Christina is the real deal. She paved the way for many young singers today. She was silenced by her record label because she didn’t want to be the character they wanted. She wanted to be young, sexual, daring & free! She wanted to be her authentic self & they wanted her to be a teenage pop star forever. She said absolutely not! And she paid a heavy price for it. I wish more young girls knew her real story & the struggle she fought for herself & others. 👊🔥🌈

OMG I know, drives me nuts that no one even knows about this, it was such a difficult time for fans to watch that awfulness go down and lets not forget cuntrez Hilton's involvement. Blame it on Perez, all throughout his career he constantly tries to knock down successful female popstars, don't shift the blame to Gaga, who Perez tried to do the same thing to a few years later.
@@shalitababy5068 no it was gaga, her label, her discoverer akon, Perez, there was an article on it that was very detailed and I can't find it right now where it goes into how artists with enough clout/buzz/support can basically wreck other artists even established ones. People can say what they want about Xtina but she’s always been real and authentic and that’s one of the things I really like about her. I hope she and Gaga do collab again! It’s sad how many artists who have talent and good material aren’t given recognition anymore. Xtina Pink Ashanti JLo and Mariah Carey face ageism when it comes to the music industry and radio and it’s sad. Females over 35 rarely get hits anymore or even played on mainstream radio.

When Gaga came out Christina genuinely didnt know if she was a boy in drag or a girl because of the over the top fashion/Dragesque persona. Sia even confirmed that Christina didnt know who Gaga was. Gaga couldve done better to squash the comparison but she literally waited to address it all when her career was taking a down turn on this exact show. She let the media and those around her drag Christina and even fed into the "oh she's copying me" bs.
Christina did this song mainly to end the bullshit. Christina even addressed her fans right before the duet took place. Shes all about female empowerment and not having bad energy and she silenced the haters putting them against one another. Some females in this business think it's all a competition and christina was never that girl. She competes with herself.
So, I'm glad they moved on.

However, Christina has tried befriending Britney many times in the past and it just seems it's best for business to pit them against one another. A collaboration with Christina is probably intimidating and they dont think it'll be a good look as Britney's handlers wont let her grow up as a person or even an artist. It's just dumb.

I love the version of DWYWWB that they did together! I was lucky enough to see Christina 3 times at her Las Vegas residency before Covid. Actually twice week the pandemic was announced! I had tickets to see Lady Gaga last year but of course, was canceled. If I would have seen both of them together at the same time, I could die happy the next day. I am so in love with both of them

Not gonna lie, but I felt a bit bad when Christina held back in that little flashback she had talking about R Kelly. I can only imagine what she went through in the business, specially being tagged as "the dirty girl" or the "anti Britney Spears" at the time, so she must have come across many predators that thought she'd be down for anything. It breaks my heart, but it makes me proud of being a fan.

Christina has really done a 180 with her public persona - when she first started on "The Voice" she was known to be very catty to the other judges and the contestants, particularly that one guy who used to be on the Mickey Mouse Club with her that was on Adam's team. She was also constantly being very shady about other female artists such as Gaga, Pink, Britney, etc.
I'm so glad that she's no longer insecure about her status, which I think was the root of all the issues I listed above. She's clearly now very comfortable with her career and talent and is quick to praise her peers vs. how she used to be.
