- Worker preparing to replace the glass panel that was fractured some how.
No vehicle production today. Tunnel finally looks finished. Work continues at the second Megapack site.

0:14. Falwell Road. Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor project. Some of the bentonite slurry equipment brought over already.
1:04. Eastside. Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor project. Second shaft site. Another ring constructed since Joe’s flight yesterday. White ‘waterstop’ seal visible in the top of the concrete. Rebar starters for another ring.
1:46. Westside, Giga Texas Offsite Wastewater Interceptor project. Another ring constructed here also since Joe’s flight yesterday. Efficient.
Waterstop seal visible here also.
Orange vessel to the bottom left againt the fence is the bentonite slurry/drilling mud circulation tank. Between the tank and caisson can be seen a group of black hoses and a manifold, part of the system to pump the bentonite slurry around the caisson.
Wall of this shaft seems thicker than the smaller diameter shaft to the east.
5:29. Southend, west. Apron. Right of centre. Wastewater tanker parked near the deep wet-well. Day 4.
5:44. Southend, south. Apron. New glazed unit manoeuvering into place.
6:10. Southend, south. Vacuum hoisting rig. About to find out if a vacuum rig can attach securely to shattered glass.
Then again it might not have been the outer lamination that shattered.
9:54. Temporary switchyard site. Galvanised steel beams have stiffener plates in the web.
Coiled up lengths of the copper grounding grid. Looks to be a flat section.
12:40. Casting, east. Heat-exchanger and flue structure. Top deck. Guy-wires on the flue.
13:32. GA, Level 3. Concrete pump delivering in through the window. I wonder where to.
13:48. Westside, tent storage site. Some subsidence at least partly along the alignment of the Sand Hill Lateral pipeline.
Handy they have the glass Co. on site to fix the broken pane.
Looks like they cleared out a lot of shipments last week - You see any Model Y Junipers in the lot yet ? Looking at the head lights I don't think so but...
Merci👍👍👍
13:33 pumping concrete into an upper floor. With all the mezzanines that have been added, I wonder what the total square footage of the factory is now compared to a year or two ago.
Indeed, certainly enough for 900k-1m output.
Thanks Brad!
New Megapack site:
Two rows of 38 Megapacks, 76 total.
19 transformers per row, 38 total.
@ 9:46 Grounding grid trenches.
Speculating that there will be no trenches in this design other than for the grounding grid. Cables will be run in cable trays down the middle between the two rows of transformers.
@ 9:53 Each group of 3 steel I-beams will support 2 Megapacks.
Transformers will be placed on the closely spaced piles.
@ 10:06 Likely location of some kind of switching and control structure, but it will not be a full substation like at the other Megapack site.
Substation expansion project:
@ 10:30 Cable termination in progress (note the cable scraps on the ground) in preparation to connect the cables to the red busbars.
@ 10:38 (Right) 345 kV switches to the transformer likely to be closed last after all work is complete.
@ 10:55 (right) and 11:07 (Right) Switches likely to be closed first.
Likely have the Pack & Trans. install done super fast, when it starts.
@@memrjohnno It will definitely be faster in placing the Megapacks and the transformers. It is also likely to be faster to lay cables in a cable tray than pull them through underground cable ducts. However, making the 480 volt connections between the Megapacks and transformers will probably remain a time consuming pain in the backside, just like last time.
@ I'm thinking part of the Tesla energy story division being able to install and service the BESS while 'they' do the fine tuning.
9:46 Speculating that there will be a second Megapack site of the same size built to the east or expand this one to the east once the substation is expanded to the east. They have a lot of transformers.
Oops. Cheers mate.
As of 01.26 the new simi factory building shell @ Giga Nevada is complete. Production equipment is beginning to be brought in. All that is left it to install the loading dock rollup doors & the last of the windows & the main entrance needs to be built out. Production should begin 06 or 07.2025.
!
There is a lot of work between dry in and production. I would cautious about Musk's claims.
Joe has said it is a glass thermal issue, he may also have said an attachment component as well.
Unleashing the Power of SpaceX
Every time it blows up 😊
A huge factory like this 😮and they building only 250k vehicle lol ,
❤go China go ❤
Last quarter the sales for the cybertruck were down. Elon is not helping the brand by being right wing outlandish here and in Europe.
@@BTSflyer true. My millennial daughter says "I won't give that man one penny" and she has solar and is looking for an EV for the next car.
That window got broken by something from a single point quite high up on the pane. High above where I believe the floor level is. Inbound bullet? Certainly looks that way...
Most likely frost in a window with a sealing defect
Also possible from a scissor lift or telehandler.
Joe said on his video yesterday he was advised the fractured pane was caused by the sudden change in temperature and the pane was defective. Joe even stated it wasn't something sinister like you're trying to make it.
Thermal expansion issue with glass
The pane could have been defective and given its weight just eventually gave up the ghost but the thermal shock proposition is almost certainly pure guesswork so as to add an excuse.
This guy reports some Tesla simis have begun service in SoCal.
Can this be verified?
