I've been banging the drum for Conner Williams since the end of the regular season! Sign him!!!!!
My gut says the bears are done making big moves till trade deadline
I am shocked he's coming back after his injury. It's INSANE but happy to see it
Whats 1 more try and collect a bag before retirement 🤔
@@antmas3507 Comments like that is from a person that only thinks about money. Be better.
This person is coming off a severe injury and is playing a sport they love.
We still weak until we have left side strengthened. Connors a deep blue chip 💙 👌. Lets do it. Williams is a rookie and the opposing teams will be rushing. Our division games dont start till 11th game. Even Frisco is game 9.
We have all pre-season to get it right and to make change adjustments before our most important games and peak at post season 😮. There would be no rush to bring him out early. Its a must sign at any price. With that solid of oline the D wont have to worry about the clock because we got 3 top runners that can chisel that time.
Left side? That's Braxton Jones and Teven Jenkins, if healthy they should be very solid!!
Caleb Williams lining up behind center Connor Williams….that would be a pretty unique photo every time the team lines up for a play. 😂
The fact that our best center we had was Olin, that should tell you right there. Bears need this just to legit the offense even if it's on a short timeline.
Olin was a dawg
Nate Davis $$$ is 100% guaranteed so... you got that right imo Swift, unless he heads down the Claypool path, they will keep him as a backup. The hit is only 2mil next year and if he doesn't go Pro Bowl level, he's gone.
If he we're to come to chicago , it would completely upgrade the offensive line. I'd be so excited if that happens, great work swifty
Swift, have you heard anything about Carter getting snaps at RG1? Seems like he's only a RG, but I've heard he's outplaying guys in competition so far. Looks good.
Nope. He was at LG. Rg snaps during OTAs were between Bates, Davis and Matt Pryor.
I think most Bears fans want Connor Williams. That said, usually at this point you wait until a few weeks into camp. 1 of the Interior OL could snap at Center and it's not a need.
I still hope we get him😂
If he's that great then sign him regardless. He will eventually be fully healthy. He can then stepp in and take over. If you get a chance to get a guy like this especially the bears. You go for it. Even if he doesn't play this year. He'll be fully healthy next year and ready to go.
Claws Up Bear Down😂😂that’s great
Poles will do his due diligence & Williams should be put to task. Williams could be the piece to win the North this year if Poles & Waldron thunk so! GO BEARS AND BEAR DOWN 🐻 ❤❤❤
Lets' not forget that even though Coleman Shelton does not have the high-end college pedigree, he did practice against and learn from one of the best DL ever, Aaron Donald, for years.
lets get this dude on a team frindly deal. 🐻⬇
This is the top signing I've been wanting all off season. Hopefully, RP can make it happen 🙏
I don't know what Poles thinks about that injury history but this guy seems like a good player if it can be behind him. Why not Ngakoue and Conner Williams? Is it that much money? I have no idea. Still though...
BEAR DOWN!!
Ya it is that much money. Ngakoue expects 10M a year (middle of the road contract for a DE) and Conner Williams expects 10-13M a year (top dollar contract for a C). We only have about 10M left in free cap. So it's either one or the other, or neither.
This is the key move if he is ready
If Poles is comfy with his progress then I say go for it and provide an even faster accelerant for Caleb to command the offense and reek havoc. Flus then will have to lock in on best candidate for the other DE and foster that guy's growth.
I'd only be happy with Williams if it's on a deal that protects the Bears if he can't stay healthy. I know I'm less willing to take the risk than some.... But a second ACL at 27yo worries me. 🐻⬇️
Swifty, Ryan Sheltons pass block efficiency rating is worse than Lucas Patrick’s for 2023… per PFF premium stats. I’m officially worried.
Ty Swifty
I’m thinking that the Bears are a front runner to sign him… have a huge need, cap space and an ascending young team
2 ACL injuries.
I'll pass
Exactly and he did it week 13, not week 9 like the graphic said.
What are the percentages of successfully playing after 2 ACL repairs without another leg injury? I'm guessing not great.
Ive been waiting for Connor to get healthy enough 🐻
I believe Poles is serious about protecting Caleb Williams. However, I’m not sure what an asking price can be coming off of that type of injury. Probably something Poles would use to bargain at the table. I would definitely feel a lot better with Conner at Center, especially later on in the season. Certainly worth exploring. Make it happen Poles!
Definitely. And investing big money into a guy coming off injury can be scary, however I think I'd do it for Connor Williams
Williams to Williams? Let's do it!
If Poles could make this happen look out!!! BEAR DOWN AND BEER DOWN!!!
🐻⬇️💪
As much as I'd like to have Williams the Bears really can't afford him given the need for an Edge.
Let's go Ryan Poles 🏃➡️
Swift, will they be able to sign them because they still gotta pay Caleb and Rome
Yes we will have over 10 mill left this year after signing all the rookies
Two A C L surgeries,same or different knee?
Put Tev on RG… Connor on the LG… Bates at C
I'd much rather have Connor at center than Bates.
Bates has never started a game at center in his career.
Can we just cut Nate Davis now and get it over with already.
Nope. Would hurt our cap. He's on the hook for 2024, but we can cut him next year and save money
Wouldn’t go there.
HE NOT GOING TO SIGN HIM YOU ALWAYS TALKING INJURY HISTORY. NOW THROW THAT OUT WIDOW WOW.
Different positions. Online especially interior doesn't rely on speed, burst or athleticism..an interior guy isn't as much of a worry until they hit 30 years old imo.
I don't think the bears are making a move for him they already invested heavily at the position
Heavily???? We signed Coleman Shelton to a 1 year, $3 million dollar deal.
Bates is more of a guard then a center to me.
