Hello, I have a 91 B2600i but I believe it has a 94 intake manifold system. It has bogged down since purchase. I've tried everything, sent the ecu off twice, first time they said it was fixed, sting same bogging down, sent it back and they said they found a bad spot and fixed it. Still bogging down. Thinking of doing this ecu swap. Can you be more specific on the 2200 replacement for the 2600 ecu? I've looked at some but can't find ones with the same plug in pattern? Help?? Carl
Hey there, any update on this? I found my b2600i has a b2200 ECU, and the truck gets ~11mpg, with cold start, and other occasional issues (fouling plugs). Curious if this is related to the wrong ECU being in the truck or not. I'd hate to dump money on a new ECU if this ones fine.
Hey Doctranate! Same thing with me. "Farm truck" runs like a charm on b2200 ECU since. I don't want to spend 100$ on re-man ECU right now. I might get original one repaired later. I don't think so ECU from 2600i will make much difference.
@@PistonShack Do you actually DD the truck, or just put it around the farm? Mine ran fine on the wrong ECU for quite a while, but over time has started fouling plugs, and the truck has never gotten better than 11-12 mpg. Just curious what around town MPG is on your rig. Love these trucks!
i love Japanese made Mazda trucks. Bzw, I got another one last week for 100$ - Mazda b2000 1988. I drive mostly around the farm but truck makes trips to town and back. My b2600i gets combine around 15-18 mpg.
All School Mazda doesn't need ECM reprogramming after an installation. Old days simplicity and reliability. Just swap parts! Thanks PistonShack.
Well said! Thanks)
Very nice video.
Thank you very much!

What type of tires do you have on your truck? I found truck canopy (top) improves MPG by 10-15%.
Hello nice video what's the serial number of the b2200 ecu so I can check it out thanks keep up the nice work
You are so welcome Jorge! I don't have my Mazda with me right now. I will let you know on weekend. Bzw, thanks for your feedback!

Did you use ECM off a b2200 same year model or different year?
Donor Mazda b2200 is a same year 1992.
i have a mazda f2 engine. can i use the b2600i ecu? my engine is front wheel drive btw
Hey Frederick! I think b2600i ECU will work on b2200. Check it out and let me know. I have never tried another way around.
Does b2200 efi work with a 2600i ecu?
Hi Paul I didn't try it but I think 2600 ECU should work on 2200 Mazda. Let me know.
Do u have anymore workin ecu
Hey Clayton. I don't know anyone in my area fixing ECUs. I just fix it myself but you can buy re-manufactured ECU on Ebay with a warranty.
@@PistonShack done tried one the eBay ones didn’t make a bit of difference runs exactly like urs did tho
Those old Mazda's were pretty bullet proof before Ford joined up with them
That's so true! Made in Japan Mazda b2600i was sold as Mazda Proceed to JDM. It's getting hard to find part.
Bzw, I'm looking for used Bobcat parts.
@@PistonShack Thank you so much for looking for me
These G6 motors were running in the rebadged Ford Courier up until the mid 2000s, the ford partnership had some solid vehicles
So you intelled a B2200 ECU in place of your 2600i ecu and its plug and play with no issues?? Smh
Yup, exactly! No any issues with an ECU swap from 2200 to 2600i
Hi, I’ve got a G638 ecu do you think a g630 would work in it? Both out the 2.6i
I am not sure. I would try it. I think it will work. Let me know.
@@PistonShack okay I’ve gone ahead with it I’ll let you know what it’s like when it arrives!
