After 103,000+ miles in our 2013 Equinox LT, we are still very happy with it. No major issues so far. In fact, we're still on the original OEM tires and brakes. Gas mileage averages around 24-26 MPG. It rides great and is quiet.
@@marlon2849 Hi Marlon. We do still have our 2013 Equinox. It has over 167k on it now. Though we have put new tires on it since my original post here, it's still braking perfectly on its original linings. We've had exceptional performance and durability from the brakes. It still rides tight and quiet and all the electronics still work. The original sound system still sounds better than most other cars I've been in. After 7 years of ownership, we still feel great about this vehicle every time we drive it. We will drive this thing until the wheels fall off. That being said, there is one drawback about this year Equinox, I believe the 2012 model suffers from this as well. Though the 4 cyl is both economical and strong enough to get the vehicle moving swiftly when you need it to, it does consume more oil than it should. My understanding is that this issue was fixed for the 2014 or 15 model year. I believe GM later offered a warranty repair option for the affected vehicles, but by the time we were aware of it, ours was already over the 150k mile threshold for the repair. Bummer. Nonetheless, even though it has a bad habit of snacking on 1 - 2 quarts of oil between oil changes, we feel we've definitely gotten our monies worth out of it. We also feel confident it's durable enough to easily carry us past 200k without any major repairs. P.S. I just remembered. There was one engine repair I had to do. I think it was around 110k miles. The check engine light came on. I took it to an Autozone auto parts store. They plugged in their little error code reader device and diagnosed the problem to a variable valve timing solenoid. I picked one up for about $60 and replaced it myself. I hope that helps.
@@chrismedeiros3201 Hi chris I am searching for a new vehicle I found a 2013 equinox for 8200 i test drove it and it felt really nice but after all the reviews it killed me but me and my mom take really good care of our vehicles we go in every 2-3 months for oil changes, I recently got a small car at the dealership only drove it for a week and im disliking it alot just because of how small the cabin is.im thinking of exchanging it for something bigger.
Dont recommend this type of vehicle they get messed up qjick always something wrong with them... I have this vehicle n i have wasted tons of money going to change real soon
