I have a DAF 615 engine in my boat. Every now and then the starter motor just clicks. What should I do, would it be wise to just buy another, perhaps refurbished? I've just subscribed to the channel and thumbs up.
im no expert i've only done motorcycle starters but personally if it was me if you can pull the motor and just look it over just clicking generally means (as long as your battery and earthing cables are good) that the solenoid is getting power (the little thing on the side of the motor that pulls and pushes the lever) and you not getting power to the motor itself things to check are the braided(usally) cable between the solenoid and the motor as sometimes these fail (EG literally start fraying apart or burning up) and if that isn't the case open up the rear of the motor to see the brushes (big graphite blocks that run on the commutator) to see if they have worn to the point of no longer touching the commutator if they have worn out then replace them and the motor should be good if both of those are good you'll need a multimeter to test the resistance of the field coils and the armature to see if theres a short or open circuit anywhere (look at other videos for a better explaination) if this is the case yes send it off for rewinding in my experiance if you have a motor that is really hard to start and you really need to crank it - its more likely to need rewinding as the motors build up allot of heat if they keep cranking too long which can damage the wiring otherwise is more likely brushes or bad connection between the solenoid and the motor sorry if this is 3 weeks too late just saw the video
Good job
Thank you
Good job really
Tnx
Excelente servicio
What are you putting on it with a brush? Also, where did you buy the kit from? And how much?
next time explain the procedure
You would do anything now :)
Для чего это выносное реле? Можно ли его вообще убрать???
