When these came out I thought they were so funny, but now I realize what a genius Martin Short is. His ability to so quickly adjust his responses to their answers is amazing.
Jiminy Glick videos are like Lays potato chips. You can't watch just one. That hair, that face, that voice. Unbelievable. SNL should have Martin Short back just to do Jiminy Glick spots.
Knowing when Steve Martin wipes the sweat off of Glick's face, that he's actually wiping the sweat off his best friend during a performance, is weirdly heartwarming.
Some of the best Art is revenge, and Glick is obviously vengeance against all the self-absorbed, passive-aggressive Hollywood hacks Short has had to endure over the years, genius...
@@dobly58 Well, it seems to me that Martin played perfectly to the absurdity of the skit, acting as if it was real. Also, it's too bad that you don't have a sense of humor. Good luck with that.
Is this Steve Martin interview anyone else's favorite Glick interview? Painfully funny and Steve was perfect with him, his responses added so much including the deadpan into the camera
HAHAHA.thought I was the only one who noticed that....comedy geniuses at work here folks. Benny Hill and Martin Short make me laugh hysterically at just the mere mention of their names. Jiminy Glick ought to be revived and make fun of the current state of affairs in Washington and this whole WOKE movement. Lighten up America ffs.
@@mysteriomarvel933 wow, it's not so common to see Benny mentioned anymore! I totally agree, he was brilliant. Yes, some of the skits are a bit ...out of fashion i guess nowadays, but he was writing for a different time.
Alright, here is where I gotta say it. Never been a big fan of Martin Short. Sure, he had a few interesting characters on SNL, but I never truly embraced his humor. It is 2024 now, and I have to admit, I had never heard of this Jiminy Glick character before, at least before the last 2 weeks. How did I miss it? Don't know, but I will say this....glad I finally discovered the silliness of Jiminy !!
I don't think *anyone* has ever made me laugh as much-- or as *long* as Martin Short. Of all comedians, his characters over the years were so just out of left field, WEIRD and unexpectedly hilarious.
I've never tapped on a Jiminy Glick video. Never saw a second of footage until this week. I thought he was a real person. My first thought was "Why does he seem like Martin Short somehow"?
He's reminds me so much of family members with Borderline Personality Disorder! His passive aggressive love is TOO sharp! "I've missed so much of it"! 😭🤯😩😘💝💖🎉
This one is funny, but the very best ones are the ones where the interviewee does not try to trade jabs with Jiminy, or at least does so very subtily or minimally.
In case someone hasn't posted this yet, here's Steve Martin's 1977 "Absent-Minded Waiter" sketch, with Buck Henry and Teri Garr: th-cam.com/video/RRMfXlJMmPU/w-d-xo.html
Steve Martin just plays it a little too like it’s a real interview and it bombs. As much as Jiminy tries to get him to actually contribute it just doesn’t go anywhere.
I used to hate jokes about how philosophy is "useless", but now, if the delivery is amazing like Short's, I love them. Philosophy is extremely useful, but people barely understand what philosophy is to begin with. So it makes sense that dummies find it useless. After all, to their useless brains, philosophy has no use indeed.
For some reason, perhaps it is the banjo, I enjoy concept of messing with Steve Martin. Watch his body language. It is so defensive. Love how Martin Short uses the most unexpected topics to go after people.
TH-cam is just a Jiminy Glick machine for me at this point.
Gotah love the filming though huh😉
♥ 🤣
Hi
I'm from the future
Same here....
@@RobMacMusicI can dig it.

Yes. Very sharp comic wit.
He has a real gift!
Martin Short is arguably the funniest person to ever live. And Clifford is the greatest film I have ever seen.
The 🐐
"I want to thank you for being so brave...in so much work that I haven't cared to see." Savage!!!
I never get tired of watching Martin Short's Jiminy Glick, and his punking all these celebrities. It's wonderful!
Jiminy Glick videos are like Lays potato chips. You can't watch just one. That hair, that face, that voice. Unbelievable. SNL should have Martin Short back just to do Jiminy Glick spots.
Or at least give him a late night show ‼️
And the delicious saltiness
Jimmy Glick and pasta making gets me through the quarantine.
- Just thinking about Jiminy Glick interviewing John Cleese is too much. The banter would be heroic.
Agreed
Steve Martin has been handsome at every decade of his life.
True
"You've had a wonderful career, and I have missed so much of it... because I've been busy .. and also, some of the titles didn't strike me." L O L
I just cant get enough of Jiminy Glick... More Glick please
Knowing when Steve Martin wipes the sweat off of Glick's face, that he's actually wiping the sweat off his best friend during a performance, is weirdly heartwarming.
Yuck
Amen.
as his friend insults him is what makes it
BRING BACK GLICK!!!!!
Now they did!
Testify!
He back

how glicks voice changes from high n femmy to low n gravely is genius! hi-larious

...luv him 😄😄😄
That turn to camera at 5:16 is so GIF worthy I'm getting GIFs in my tummy just thinkin about it.
Reminds me of: TH-cam video: picard facepalm
The shifting on the chair is genius move lol.
I loved every pixel of this
Martin Short is sheer GENIUS in this episode! I laughed until I choked.
No, not genius in this. There's very little going on here other than a murmer of comedy. Martin appears a bit bored.
@@dobly58 Well, it seems to me that Martin played perfectly to the absurdity of the skit, acting as if it was real. Also, it's too bad that you don't have a sense of humor. Good luck with that.
Martin Short interviews Steve Martin, a hilarious 5 minute break in a rather serious world. Brilliant Absurdity.
Jack Petrie what a gay comment
moemoney131 vee lmao
Yep no trumptards here
You think your world is serious?
These 2 are so great together!
I love these guys together! 🤣🤣🤣
I use to search for all these in the early 2000s after it stopped coming on tv. I love that there's so many up to watch on youtube now.
Is this Steve Martin interview anyone else's favorite Glick interview? Painfully funny and Steve was perfect with him, his responses added so much including the deadpan into the camera
knowing they’re best friends makes it one of the best
but you can’t beat Ice Cube
“Are you taking Ginko Biloba?”
Lol that got me
Jiminy: Where do you think all these evil stories start in Hollywood?
Steve: I think...perhaps from you!
"and so much of the work I've haven't cared to see."
They're both consummate pros. This is excellent acting
Between Two Ferns owes these two a royalty check.
the greatness of a great straight man has always been criminally underrated...this is another example. props to both
Whoa. Allen and Rossi. I have not heard those names for 40 years, more. Gypsy Rose Lee. This is like talking to my father.
Mark LaPolla ...and a Wallace Beery reference too. Hilarious!!
👋👍
Steve Martin and Martin Short are best friends in real life.
Who?
Who’s Martin Short?
Loved it when Steve was dabbing the sweat from Martins face lol
@@oliviacrybaby9277 Pretty sure he was joking because he's treating Jiminy as a real character.
@@miked8227 lol
I love how her manages to bring Roddy McDowall up in at least every other interview LOL

Actually, I think he would make fun of the other side of that equation
The voice changes are hilarious.. I love this guy. Be mine Jiminy Glicket.
This is especially hilarious to come back to after watching Only Murders in the Building
"Well, again, you've had a wonderful career--I have missed so much of it because I've been busy and also some of the titles didn't strike me."
This is the finest interview Jiminy Glick has ever done.
They are such wonderful friends
This is Gold !
Brilliant. Genius
Any Allen & Rossi reference is pure gold.
Oh Jiminy, we need more Jiminy!
I had Steve Martin's "Wild and Crazy Guy" on eight track...okay, I am old.
🏁
Had my own collection of 3-Tracks back in the day. Such simple technology.

JG marathon. Lots of laughs this weekend.
irony at 4:08, steve is helping Jiminy sound out his french play, but he cant pronounce "I would like to buy a hamburger"....
I had just watched that video clip right before watching this one! Oddly satisfying coincidence.
This is one of his best!
"You're a collector of impressionist art?"
"You aren't?"
"You collect art but you are an impressionist?"
.....i bet that came in handy blowing up those balloons in your act...... oh my god, Jiminy is AMAZING.
2:58 is the start of brilliant give-and-take over "How rumors start"
"and has it ever worn off". hard laugh.
I love that part lol
Two comedic geniuses....volleying in opposite form. Wow.
"Hey, this guy is good"

Like Ed Grimley
I would want to get famous just so I could be interviewed by Jiminy Glick.
“Hiiihhh suhhhpose!” 🤣
I don't mind that the picture is fuzzy, I just find his annoying voice soothing.
It’s weird looking at this considering they’re touring together now. I know they’re best friends, but this is an interesting blast from the past.
Best character ever!
"..in your face?" kills me!
I've never tapped on a Jiminy Glick video. Never saw a second of footage until this week. I thought he was a real person. My first thought was "Why does he seem like Martin Short somehow"?
The greatest.
Martin and Steve were in the movie "Three Amigos" together.
and Father of the Bride..
And a national tour
Almost every Jiminy Glick interviewee has a career connection to Martin Short...
Strange coincidence. 🤔
The sky is blue
He's reminds me so much of family members with Borderline Personality Disorder! His passive aggressive love is TOO sharp! "I've missed so much of it"! 😭🤯😩😘💝💖🎉
*Steve: "Do you know what philosophy **_IS?"_*
*Glick: "I wanna get back to that."*
He is so random, it's great.
Steve dead a gereat job staying deadpan in this!
Every interview jiminy sweats like a farm animal hahahahaha.
Rich Little, Steve Rossi. This is his friend Steve MARTIN!!
Steve did so much for Terre Haute,Indiana!!!
The best! Marty you tried your best to break Steve. LOL
He did, 1:57
It's funny cuz they're great friends
Martin Short must spend two or three hours in makeup in order to do this.
Who
This video blew my mind. It actually seemed as if they didn't know eachother!
"Steve Martin responds "Brave is a good word " LOL
Never try to get the better of Jiminy Glick. You will never win.
Where is Waco, Texas? It's in Waco, Texas.
The two characters I would like to see interact are George Banks and Frooonk from Father of the Bride!
Run, Steve, run!
Not sure why it even occurred to me, but would'nt it have been just fabulous if Steve Martin had been cast to play Professor-X in the X-Men series ?
Steve Martin us brilliant here. He obviously didn't want to be there from the very beginning, and knows how to get his revenge.
Where is Waco Texas, in Waco Texas LOL too funny
Pure Comedy Gold.
Jiminy firing on all Glick-enders....Steve Rossi: pensive and concerned.
Can steve and Marty just get married?
Oh stop it, Jerry...
Jiminy Cricket.
When is Jiminy hosting Oscars?

LOL what a scream!
I like how even the official Jiminy Glick channel video are washed out noisy VHS rips with bad tracking.
I'm trapped in the Glick hole again but this time I get to laugh at my own comments.
when martin short was in inherent vice, he should have been in this character.
"You've had a wonderful career. I've missed so much of it because I've been busy, and some of the titles didn't strike me."
