Thorough video! A couple things to note: The pocket clip’s position was just from its original design from back in the day when the Sebenza also had the same positioning fully on the lock bar. Also, I’m sure CRK is better about this than other makers but it is relatively common the edge’s heat treatment is altered from the grinder when sharpening-phenomenon called “burnt edges.” After a few sharpenings you get to the good stuff and all will be well. With that said, it’s the first time I’ve seen this on a CRK!
Maybe you bought the wrong Chris Reeve knife for you? The Inkosi and Sebenza are a lot more "fidged". It's not a typical flipping knife. Especially the Umnumzaan because the placing of the studs are different. All my knives edges will roll on a ceramic plate btw, that stuff is hard. After a few sharpenings the steel gets better. The rgt pocketclip is nice, low profile, feels good in the hand.

Mine was incredibly smooth out of the box.
Send the knife back to CRK. You could have gotten one of the early batches where the heat treat wasn't sufficient to bring the blade up to 62-64 HRC.

my D2 Boker Striker came with a chip from the store.. Brass scales.. super heavy and it gets stinky.. its just a fidget practice toy, now..
