    I dare say those high-pitched screeching noises will be welcomed by those who have to put up with it on a regular basis.

      I think they will wear down once they start running frequently, but yes they will still screech. Not good for residents in the local hotels

      We've dealt with it in Manchester since 1992 😅

    Loving the idea of getting off train and getting the tram up and down the prom without the walk to the shore. Surely this makes it quite useful for the locals to get to the station too. :)

    Of course the trams used to run to the old North Station from the Gynn via Dickson Road. Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose! It is all looking tatty and Yates wine lodge has been demolished. I haven't been back since 2005, having moved away in 1968.

      Yes, trams ran to North station via Talbot road too until closure of the Layton line in the 1930s. A shame they didn't re-introduce them on Dickson road

      That is before my time! I rode the tram from Norbreck to North Station to go to school in Raikes Parade!@@StevenHughestransportvideos

      @@briangriffiths1285 I am a little too young to remember any of the branches sadly, but it will be good to see the Talbot road branch back in use again later this year.

    Why did tram go through red pedestrian crossing ?

    • @StevenHughestransportvideos
      @StevenHughestransportvideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The lights where undergoing controlled timing tests and as such they were trialing the timings. This meant that sometimes the lights went red before the tram had passed

    Not as charismatic as baloons and progress twins etc. I didn't realise they had such a high clearance under the front. Didn't the old ones gave wooden deflectors?

    • @StevenHughestransportvideos
      @StevenHughestransportvideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes the old trams had Wooden catchers under the front end, (some still do) the modern trams and some refurbed old trams have metal versions

      I guess it depends what you are looking for and where you look. Certainly it has more than it's fare share of under investment but it has got a fair amount of regeneration going on.
