When Maurice died the Bee Gees were no more. 😢💔 Without any one of them you would not have had this amazing band of brothers. Each played a very significant role.

Their lyrics are like arrows that go straight to the heart and soul. All three had voices that are gift from God. I’m so thankful they chose to share their talent with the world. My husband and I fell in love in 1968 to their music. We always had it playing we were married almost 40 years when he died in 2006. I still play the BeeGees it makes it feel like my sweet husband is still right next to me.

In the earlier days it seems that Robin was the de facto lead like on 'I Started A Joke'.

It literally sounded like when he was recording that song in the studio. It was just absolutely amazing. This was such a beautiful song and as good as Barry was Robin just hit it right out of the park with his vocals.

Sad that Maurice and Robin Gibb fell victims to their addictions. But, think about what great lives they both had and led, up to their demise. Worth every minute I suppose.

Robin died from kidney failure after a long bout with cancer treatments that weakened his kidney and liver. Look it up and you will find the facts. Barry and Robin wanted to sue the hospital about Maurice's death. His wife settled with the hospital out of court. Robin got cancer that ran in the father's family and it was found late so treatments were extreme. The cancer went into remission but he got pneumonia and his body was weak from the intense treatments.
Working with others is hard enough at times. Working with family? Damb near impossible. These guys were a gift to the world, thank goodness their dad took them to Austailia as Robin and Maurice were headed for jail as kids at the rate they were going.

Barry had a stolen pocket knife and he said to Robin there are two ways we can go. To gaol or a singing career. He threw the knife into the water and they never stole again. I can't say these are his exact words but it gives an idea of how he had matured and took charge of their future. Thank goodness!
