Many students today are awarded with honors and I think that the standards for these awards lessened. I know many people who don't deserve the title. This Magna Cum Laude is a living proof of it. Do we have to blame the pandemic? The online classes? Do we blame education? Certainly not! Do we blame the system? I think so. Lemme tell you my experience during my time in the university. I've encountered many holes in the system, but let me tell you the biggest holes. First, there're students who we call "sipsip" (students who love to kiss the ass of teachers). Second, there're professors who love to be s*cked (not literally, but ya know what I mean. Can't think of another word sorry). Teachers have many students, and it's impossible to get to know all of them, but why do some of my underserving classmates get a higher grade even if some classmates did better on their outputs? Simple. They "befriended" the teacher, which makes the teacher biased. They turn a blind eye even if they know the students are cheating, or if they get lower scores, or if they write nonsense essays. You can't tell me that there are no bias and prejudices in education. I've experienced it first-hand. Thankfully, not all teachers are like this. The system is clearly not reliable. Never had been.
