My father was diagnosed with bowel cancer. While in hospital he prayed constantly to St. Theresa for her intersession. One day I arrived to visit and found him crying. I asked him what was the matter, he showed me a card he had received from my aunt in England. It was a beautiful card with roses all over the front of it. But the strange thing was that it had a fragrant smell to it too. He was cured of the cancer and went on to live for another 13 years.
In the dead of winter in Massachusetts, my mother was very discouraged with daily events, trying to raise us 9 kids, and all the chaos in the household. My mother prayed to St. Terese and suddenly my 7 yr old sister, named "Therese", walks in the house with a perfect rose that suddenly appeared on our dead rose bush. It couldn't have been more than 30 degrees that day!
A beautiful story!!! My mom had 5 of us. She was totally devoted to St Terese. I was always amazed at her calmness and energy after praying to her. Both are an inspiration for me today!!! Viva Cristo Rey. Saint Terese pray for us.

My grandfather's sister was hospitalized with death looming. He prayed to St.Therese for her intercession to grant a few more years to my great aunt. While walking across a small snow covered bridge in prayer, a red object was ahead of him in the immaculate snow. As he approached, he found a red rose waiting for him. My great aunt lived a few more years after that.

Yes, I suspect that she works through images especially these days. My friend who was an aspiring monk asked me to say a novena to her everyday on the phone with him, so we did. I was only back in the church several months at this time, btw. On the 8th day, I randomly found in my basement a rose bookmark with a Bible verse on the front, and when you turn it over, it had a note that it was a sacramental. :). Apparently my mother had gotten it blessed back in the late 90s, and then it sat in a box in the basement for 20 years. The next day, on the last day of the novena, my friend opened a TH-cam video, and as soon as the video started playing, the opening image was the cross with a whole bunch of roses at its feet. There was another time in a chapel a few months later where I was in adoration of the tabernacle for a while, and I told Jesus, I'll be back in a little while, I'm going to go get a rose to put in a vase in front of the Mary statue. So as I'm walking out, I happen to notice a wee little cloth rose on a table, turn it over, and it came from a shrine of St Therese. So then I kind of freaked out, because I intellectually realized that they watch us up there, but it was another thing to experience it, that they're watching us like television. So the next day, a package of religious items I ordered came in the mail, and randomly included in that was a gold pocket coin of Saint Therese that said, "I am your sister and your friend. I will always watch over you.". 😊
I received a rose miracle from St Therése! When I was pregnant with our daughter I was terrified because I’d had a few miscarriages before that pregnancy. I asked St Therése for a sign if I would have a healthy pregnancy and the next day my husband randomly stopped on his way home from work and bought me some tiny pink roses! We found out shortly after we were having a girl and our daughter, Elizabeth Therése, is now almost 4 years old. 💕
I didn't find St. Therese, she found me. When I was in college I kept coming across her book at home. I didn't want to read it. But every time I looked for a new book to read, I kept seeing her book. One day I was running late and couldn't find a new book to read so I grabbed her book (not really wanting to) and I read it on the train. I fell in love with her story. By the time I finished reading it I felt as if 20 pounds were lifted off my shoulders. All the pain I didn't know I was carrying melted away. She taught me how to be grateful even in tough times, how not to compare myself to others, how to trust in God with child like faith, and she reminded me of God's love for me (something I had forgotten). She found me at the perfect time
Yes without fail over 40 years of praying the novena to the little flower I have always been given the gift of a rose. Many years ago I was on the 9th day of the novena and had not seen a rose . I was staying at a friends house I was wondering if I missed a day maybe I wasn’t as attentive when I said the novena as these thoughts swirled in my head I was getting ready to go to bed at my friends house when I pulled down the comforter the sheets had a beautiful rose pattern. St. Theresa has never failed me. At 35 years old I prayed for peace when I stopped looking at. Theresa gifted me my sweet wonderful thoughtful husband. Each table at our wedding reception held a vase and a single white rose to pay the Little Flower homage on a day I thought would never happen, we have been married 26 years. I love you abs I honor you St. Theresa the Little Flower I thank you for all the favors you have granted me over the years.

I've had roses appear in unexpected ways and one time the scent of roses filled the air in my room. My hubby walks in and asked what I sprayed (I didn't). We couldn't believe it. I called my son and he immediately smelled roses. This was at a time when I was going thru many health issues and I knew St Therese was with me throughout my worries during this time. Awaiting the adoption of our newborn son, his biological mother was contemplating keeping him. I said a novena to St. Therese and a beautiful yellow rose bloomed in our yard on the 9th day of the novena. We got a phone call later in the day that our son was born. I was at a church that had a statue of St Therese and I didn't know what to pray for so i just thanked God for St. Therese. A couple of days later my elderly neighbor came to my door and gave me three roses.
I can't wait to watch this video, St. Therese' and her Little Way has become my favorite spirituality because it focuses on Jesus' Love, His Mercy, and how much he wants to give it to all people, and how much He wants to be loved in return (the human part of his heart aches for love of us). Being "little" means doing all of our mundane tasks with love and offering it to God, with complete trust in his love for us.

What a contrast to my experience...I grew up in a 'let's pretend we are Christian home', where I was not allowed to even touch the only Bible in the house...I truly believed all religions are equal! I was even accused of 'sitting on the fence' by my priest, but I was determined to remain there as long as possible...I knew the day would come, when I would have to choose a side...I dreaded that day.
O Fr. Goring, that reminds me that when I was in my early days of recovery my spiritual director told me, she said to me, “You know what’s wrong with you?” I said to myself what? She said, “You grew to up to fast when you were a child and never knew what it is to be a child.” I thought about a few years after she told me that, because I was the only girl in the family and 6 brothers and I had help in family chores. I had an abusive father that abused my mother to my mom every which way to can think of, but I forgave him. It was a hard life, but you know what Fr. Goring? I’m a survivor! Praise you Jesus! 🙏🏼🙌 I love the little 🌸 flower, because every now and then I tend to be rigid on myself but I’m a recovering progress. Thank You St.Thérèse for your simple ways! Amen! Thank you Fr. I did St. Therese novena a few years ago and on the last day I asked her if she accepted it to please send me a Rose 🌹. As soon as I finished the novena my fiancé which did not know anything about it went in the backyard and cut a rose 🌹 and gave it to me . After saying a novena to The Blessed Mother and on the heels of that, one to St. Therese. I experienced many roses and a life changing healing and pretty epic conversion. I was only asking for stupid things. I got the stupid things, but then they gave me Jesus. I didn't even know at the time He was the only thing I needed.
I have had a single rose presented to me twice in unexpected ways as answers to prayers on how to proceed with my life. Truly miraculous gift . I was doing a novena doing my Cursillo back in 2014. I was asking for assurance that my son who had died in 2009 of an accidental overdose on the morning after his 38th birthday was at least in Purgatory. On the last day of Cursillo we were handed a rose and I later found out that was the only year new members had been given roses. When the relics of St Therese came to our church (St Teresa's Dumfries) I attended the service. Afterwards, I went to my car which was parked far away across a busy road and on the pavement next to the car lay a red rose! It felt like a gift directly from her. Thanks be to God.

St. Teresa novena is very real. After my wife’s praying to her on the last day we, with our priest, went to a restaurant for dinner. The waiter brought my wife a beautiful long stem rose! We asked why and he said that they had just started doing this that night for all the lady patrons! Coincidence? I think not!
I prayed a novena for someone who had terminal cancer. She had a great devotion to St. Therese. She had been prepared for a traumatic and painful end but I prayed St. Therese would intercede for her to have a peaceful end. Nothing the docs prepared her for happened and she had a peaceful end and a priest who gave her the food for the journey. RIP. I am sure St. Therese interceded for her.
For myself, I would say reading St. Therese and her wisdom in part has kept me from falling into Sedevacantism, and from despairing overall with the state of the Church.
Father Goring, hello and God bless you. When I was 19 I was heading to Mardi Gras and my Mother was saying a novena to St Therese because she knew it might be a crazy time. I ended up going off the sea wall in a ‘72 Buick Skylark with a bunch of college kids from Spain. We landed half on rock and half in the water. When the police officers came, one of them called me over with a white rose from the back of his vehicle and told me how happy he was to not have to call my parents and tell them I was gone. 🌷St. Therese and Jesus were with me and with me to this day. Thank you Lord Jesus.
There is no doubt she touched my soul and I plan to reread her book too, Fr. Mark. She was full of love for the Lord and understood becoming humbly tiny in the majesty of His guidance. I relate to her most by her gift of art being an artist myself. I mentioned earlier in a comment that there is a page dedicated to her art on Pinterest. It’s not a huge collection, but enough to give you an idea of her not so little talent. My heart and soul felt so full many times while reading her book and I could feel she was helping me grow spiritually. Thank you for sharing once again about this beloved Saint Therese of Lisieux. I'm so glad to see a renewed interest in Ste. Thérèse. It's a remarkable thing that both she and the towering intellect of St. Thomas Aquinas are doctors of the Church. (Ste. Thérèse was so proclaimed by Pp. St. John Paul II.) Remember that St. Thomas remarked that his work was "all straw" because theological theory is helpful to the intellect, but did not touch on the heart of the faith. Simplicity (which arises from humility) is not to be denigrated, but embraced because God is simplicity itself. It is good to recall Ps.130: O Lord, my heart is not proud nor haughty my eyes. I have not gone after things too great nor marvels beyond me. Truly I have set my soul in silence and peace. A weaned child on its mother's breast, even so is my soul. O Israel, hope in the Lord both now and forever.
Father...I started the novena to St. Therese 4 days ago for my sister who has stage 3 cancer of the lymph nodes in her lungs. Today I was walking onto the portico at church and right before me on a plaque on the wall was a ROSE!!! I did a double take! I couldn't believe my eyes! It was a real one and was put there somehow and it was frozen because I picked it up and then put it back. Right away I thanked St. Therese!

It was really sweet to her this woman use modern day expressions to define her. She told me, "When you pray to St.Theresa, SHE'S FAST!!! SHE DOESN'T PLAY!!!!" AMEN TO THAT!!!!! St. Theresa will ALWAYS answer your prayers unless it's stupid what u want. I figured her out. St.Theresa does not like seeing people suffering!!! If ur hurting, filled with pain, just ask her to help you. That's how easy it is!!! That 80 year old woman was right. She's Fast, and she DOESN'T PLAY!!!! I say that with a lot of confidence too because I'm far from holy, and a state of grace. I'm trying.

I finished reading this book in November. I have loved St. Therese since I was very little and she is has been my Confirmation saint for over 50 years. She is very good friends with our Blessed Mother so she, like Mary, will never lead us astray. Her “Little Way” points directly to “The Way” ✝️✨
Such a stunning photo of St Therese. I think she searches each soul that gazes on her face. It's very cold here and there are many scarlet rosebuds in the garden and a beautifully scented white rose. No sooner had I watched this then my wife suggested I leave roses for my mother in law on her first wedding anniversary as a widow. I think that means I'm doing a novena now.
Merry Christmas, Father! In 2018, two of my sons and their (then) girlfriends were in a serious car accident on their way to Cedar Point.(3 hours away from home). My youngest son was uninjured and the two girls(now, both my daughter-in-laws) had some injuries which required medical treatment. My oldest son sustained serious injuries(with brain swelling). He had to be life-flighted to the nearest hospital. My daughter and I drove to see him and he was unconscious and on a ventilator. The doc said he was his most critical patient in the hospital. I started a novena to St. Therese. The next morning we wanted to go to mass and my daughter found a church close by, The name of the church was "Little Flower"! I didn't receive a physical rose, but I received an entire church! Today, my son is doing well with no physical impairments from the accident. The accident was the pivot point that both my sons returned to the church and their girlfriends also were confirmed into the church . They are happily married and living in the faith. Praise be Jesus!!!

My father was diagnosed with bowel cancer. While in hospital he prayed constantly to St. Theresa for her intersession. One day I arrived to visit and found him crying. I asked him what was the matter, he showed me a card he had received from my aunt in England. It was a beautiful card with roses all over the front of it. But the strange thing was that it had a fragrant smell to it too. He was cured of the cancer and went on to live for another 13 years.

In the dead of winter in Massachusetts, my mother was very discouraged with daily events, trying to raise us 9 kids, and all the chaos in the household. My mother prayed to St. Terese and suddenly my 7 yr old sister, named "Therese", walks in the house with a perfect rose that suddenly appeared on our dead rose bush. It couldn't have been more than 30 degrees that day!

I was a little discouraged with recent events too...but The Lord graced my husband with the presence of our Little Flower while he was driving us to Holy Mass today! He doesn't really know much about her and has never prayed to her...I prayed to her at least 7 times in the last 24. Hrs! 💜🌹💜

My grandfather's sister was hospitalized with death looming. He prayed to St.Therese for her intercession to grant a few more years to my great aunt. While walking across a small snow covered bridge in prayer, a red object was ahead of him in the immaculate snow. As he approached, he found a red rose waiting for him. My great aunt lived a few more years after that.

Yes, I suspect that she works through images especially these days. My friend who was an aspiring monk asked me to say a novena to her everyday on the phone with him, so we did. I was only back in the church several months at this time, btw. On the 8th day, I randomly found in my basement a rose bookmark with a Bible verse on the front, and when you turn it over, it had a note that it was a sacramental. :). Apparently my mother had gotten it blessed back in the late 90s, and then it sat in a box in the basement for 20 years. The next day, on the last day of the novena, my friend opened a TH-cam video, and as soon as the video started playing, the opening image was the cross with a whole bunch of roses at its feet.
There was another time in a chapel a few months later where I was in adoration of the tabernacle for a while, and I told Jesus, I'll be back in a little while, I'm going to go get a rose to put in a vase in front of the Mary statue. So as I'm walking out, I happen to notice a wee little cloth rose on a table, turn it over, and it came from a shrine of St Therese. So then I kind of freaked out, because I intellectually realized that they watch us up there, but it was another thing to experience it, that they're watching us like television. So the next day, a package of religious items I ordered came in the mail, and randomly included in that was a gold pocket coin of Saint Therese that said, "I am your sister and your friend. I will always watch over you.". 😊
I received a rose miracle from St Therése! When I was pregnant with our daughter I was terrified because I’d had a few miscarriages before that pregnancy. I asked St Therése for a sign if I would have a healthy pregnancy and the next day my husband randomly stopped on his way home from work and bought me some tiny pink roses! We found out shortly after we were having a girl and our daughter, Elizabeth Therése, is now almost 4 years old. 💕

I didn't find St. Therese, she found me. When I was in college I kept coming across her book at home. I didn't want to read it. But every time I looked for a new book to read, I kept seeing her book. One day I was running late and couldn't find a new book to read so I grabbed her book (not really wanting to) and I read it on the train. I fell in love with her story. By the time I finished reading it I felt as if 20 pounds were lifted off my shoulders. All the pain I didn't know I was carrying melted away. She taught me how to be grateful even in tough times, how not to compare myself to others, how to trust in God with child like faith, and she reminded me of God's love for me (something I had forgotten). She found me at the perfect time
Yes without fail over 40 years of praying the novena to the little flower I have always been given the gift of a rose. Many years ago I was on the 9th day of the novena and had not seen a rose . I was staying at a friends house I was wondering if I missed a day maybe I wasn’t as attentive when I said the novena as these thoughts swirled in my head I was getting ready to go to bed at my friends house when I pulled down the comforter the sheets had a beautiful rose pattern. St. Theresa has never failed me. At 35 years old I prayed for peace when I stopped looking at. Theresa gifted me my sweet wonderful thoughtful husband. Each table at our wedding reception held a vase and a single white rose to pay the Little Flower homage on a day I thought would never happen, we have been married 26 years. I love you abs I honor you St. Theresa the Little Flower I thank you for all the favors you have granted me over the years.

I've had roses appear in unexpected ways and one time the scent of roses filled the air in my room. My hubby walks in and asked what I sprayed (I didn't). We couldn't believe it. I called my son and he immediately smelled roses. This was at a time when I was going thru many health issues and I knew St Therese was with me throughout my worries during this time. Awaiting the adoption of our newborn son, his biological mother was contemplating keeping him. I said a novena to St. Therese and a beautiful yellow rose bloomed in our yard on the 9th day of the novena. We got a phone call later in the day that our son was born. I was at a church that had a statue of St Therese and I didn't know what to pray for so i just thanked God for St. Therese. A couple of days later my elderly neighbor came to my door and gave me three roses.

What a contrast to my experience...I grew up in a 'let's pretend we are Christian home', where I was not allowed to even touch the only Bible in the house...I truly believed all religions are equal! I was even accused of 'sitting on the fence' by my priest, but I was determined to remain there as long as possible...I knew the day would come, when I would have to choose a side...I dreaded that day.

O Fr. Goring, that reminds me that when I was in my early days of recovery my spiritual director told me, she said to me, “You know what’s wrong with you?” I said to myself what? She said, “You grew to up to fast when you were a child and never knew what it is to be a child.” I thought about a few years after she told me that, because I was the only girl in the family and 6 brothers and I had help in family chores. I had an abusive father that abused my mother to my mom every which way to can think of, but I forgave him. It was a hard life, but you know what Fr. Goring? I’m a survivor! Praise you Jesus! 🙏🏼🙌 I love the little 🌸 flower, because every now and then I tend to be rigid on myself but I’m a recovering progress. Thank You St.Thérèse for your simple ways! Amen! Thank you Fr. a Rose 🌹. As soon as I finished the novena my fiancé which did not know anything about it went in the backyard and cut a rose 🌹 and gave it to me .

After saying a novena to The Blessed Mother and on the heels of that, one to St. Therese. I experienced many roses and a life changing healing and pretty epic conversion. I was only asking for stupid things. I got the stupid things, but then they gave me Jesus. I didn't even know at the time He was the only thing I needed.

I have had a single rose presented to me twice in unexpected ways as answers to prayers on how to proceed with my life. Truly miraculous gift . I was doing a novena doing my Cursillo back in 2014. I was asking for assurance that my son who had died in 2009 of an accidental overdose on the morning after his 38th birthday was at least in Purgatory. On the last day of Cursillo we were handed a rose and I later found out that was the only year new members had been given roses. I knew St Therese sent it to me and a great burden was lifted off my heart. St. Therese pray for us.🙏🙏🙏

When the relics of St Therese came to our church (St Teresa's Dumfries) I attended the service. Afterwards, I went to my car which was parked far away across a busy road and on the pavement next to the car lay a red rose! It felt like a gift directly from her. Thanks be to God.

St. Teresa novena is very real. After my wife’s praying to her on the last day we, with our priest, went to a restaurant for dinner. The waiter brought my wife a beautiful long stem rose! We asked why and he said that they had just started doing this that night for all the lady patrons! Coincidence? I think not!
I prayed a novena for someone who had terminal cancer. She had a great devotion to St. Therese. She had been prepared for a traumatic and painful end but I prayed St. Therese would intercede for her to have a peaceful end. Nothing the docs prepared her for happened and she had a peaceful end and a priest who gave her the food for the journey. RIP. I am sure St. Therese interceded for her.

For myself, I would say reading St. Therese and her wisdom in part has kept me from falling into Sedevacantism, and from despairing overall with the state of the Church.

Father Goring, hello and God bless you. When I was 19 I was heading to Mardi Gras and my Mother was saying a novena to St Therese because she knew it might be a crazy time. I ended up going off the sea wall in a ‘72 Buick Skylark with a bunch of college kids from Spain. We landed half on rock and half in the water. When the police officers came, one of them called me over with a white rose from the back of his vehicle and told me how happy he was to not have to call my parents and tell them I was gone. 🌷St. Therese and Jesus were with me and with me to this day. Thank you Lord Jesus.

There is no doubt she touched my soul and I plan to reread her book too, Fr. Mark. She was full of love for the Lord and understood becoming humbly tiny in the majesty of His guidance. I relate to her most by her gift of art being an artist myself. I mentioned earlier in a comment that there is a page dedicated to her art on Pinterest. It’s not a huge collection, but enough to give you an idea of her not so little talent. My heart and soul felt so full many times while reading her book and I could feel she was helping me grow spiritually. Thank you for sharing once again about this beloved Saint Therese of Lisieux. I'm so glad to see a renewed interest in Ste. Thérèse. It's a remarkable thing that both she and the towering intellect of St. Thomas Aquinas are doctors of the Church. (Ste. Thérèse was so proclaimed by Pp. St. John Paul II.) Remember that St. Thomas remarked that his work was "all straw" because theological theory is helpful to the intellect, but did not touch on the heart of the faith. Simplicity (which arises from humility) is not to be denigrated, but embraced because God is simplicity itself. It is good to recall Ps.130:
O Lord, my heart is not proud
nor haughty my eyes.
I have not gone after things too great
nor marvels beyond me.
Truly I have set my soul
in silence and peace.
A weaned child on its mother's breast,

Father...I started the novena to St. Therese 4 days ago for my sister who has stage 3 cancer of the lymph nodes in her lungs. Today I was walking onto the portico at church and right before me on a plaque on the wall was a ROSE!!! I did a double take! I couldn't believe my eyes! It was a real one and was put there somehow and it was frozen because I picked it up and then put it back. Right away I thanked St. Therese!

Yes ! The first time I prayed a novena to St Therese years ago I was in a church and I became enveloped in a scent - I was thinking ‘what is that scent?…. Roses !’ I was astonished. It has happened more than once since then. Thank you Father Goring- The faith is real :)

I had a patient a few years ago who was in her 80's and St. Theresa was her favorite saint. It was really sweet to her this woman use modern day expressions to define her. She told me, "When you pray to St.Theresa, SHE'S FAST!!! SHE DOESN'T PLAY!!!!"
AMEN TO THAT!!!!! St. Theresa will ALWAYS answer your prayers unless it's stupid what u want. I figured her out. St.Theresa does not like seeing people suffering!!! If ur hurting, filled with pain, just ask her to help you. That's how easy it is!!! That 80 year old woman was right. She's Fast, and she DOESN'T PLAY!!!! I say that with a lot of confidence too because I'm far from holy, and a state of grace. I'm trying.

I finished reading this book in November. I have loved St. Therese since I was very little and she is has been my Confirmation saint for over 50 years. She is very good friends with our Blessed Mother so she, like Mary, will never lead us astray. Her “Little Way” points directly to “The Way” ✝️✨

I first read it as a child and found her lovely especially about roses from heaven. I continue to remain close to her as she is close to Jesus.
Merry Christmas, Father! In 2018, two of my sons and their (then) girlfriends were in a serious car accident on their way to Cedar Point.(3 hours away from home). My youngest son was uninjured and the two girls(now, both my daughter-in-laws) had some injuries which required medical treatment. My oldest son sustained serious injuries(with brain swelling). He had to be life-flighted to the nearest hospital. My daughter and I drove to see him and he was unconscious and on a ventilator. The doc said he was his most critical patient in the hospital. I started a novena to St. Therese. The next morning we wanted to go to mass and my daughter found a church close by, The name of the church was "Little Flower"! I didn't receive a physical rose, but I received an entire church! Today, my son is doing well with no physical impairments from the accident. The accident was the pivot point that both my sons returned to the church and their girlfriends also were confirmed into the church . They are happily married and living in the faith. Praise be Jesus!!!
