    You’ll get thru it man good job!!! I’ve been dreading doing vintage air but AC is a must in Vegas. A few weeks ago I looked up the instructions and saw all the problems you experienced and Im in the process of taking out the duct and mounting that bracket too cause I got my firewall kit from Tim too.

    I installed one in my 1963 impala last year. Make sure you got all those rubber plugs out of the evaporator. I missed one and had to remove the whole evaporator out from under the dash. But once its in, you will be so happy.

    I appreciate the detail and dont mind the video being longer than usual because it's great info. I'm gonna have a shaved firewall in my 63. Seeing how the lines come thru your firewall, could u go over how you would install the system so the lines dont have to go thru it? I'd like to have mine go thru the fan blower hole inside the fender if possible. Great vids bro!!

    • @RedRocket64
      @RedRocket64  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem, yes you’d just have to run a a/c bulkhead inside that area and run custom lines from the evaporator box to it, then run your lines behind your fender well 👍

    Hello…(sorry I don’t know your name yet) I watched all three segments of your Vintage air videos. First I want to thank you for doing the video, unlike so many others you are clear at each step, I learned so much about this. I have a 64 Malibu SS that also went through a frame off rotisserie restoration shortly before I bought it. Unfortunately it’s not working out as well as yours seems to be. The 64 Chevelle air controls are very similar to yours but are not working properly and the amount of air coming out of the ducts are not even close to yours so I am going to attempt to get into it myself. After watching your videos I’m fairly confident I can do this. If I need technical help would contacting Vintage air directly be an option ???

    • @RedRocket64
      @RedRocket64  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem, Im glad the videos helped! Contacting vintage air is definitely a option, seems like your issue is with the on/off switch, when you turn the switch on it may not be sliding completely over to the higher blower motor setting. Check to see if it may be getting caught on something.

    • @davidrosenthal735

      Hey, I watched several more videos of your 64 impala build. Great job, hope you’ve been enjoying it. On my 64 Malibu I have several emblems to install. What would you recommend as a rust preventative after I drill holes as I don’t want rust to start.

    I think I made a mistake I drilled out my holes for the bulkhead that I purchased. Without buying the vintage air system. Can you help me out with Some measurements where I should place the bulkhead

    • @RedRocket64
      @RedRocket64  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can run a custom bulkhead on vintage air which is what I’m assuming you bought, the purpose for those are to hide the a/c lines behind the passenger side fender.
      Then you’ll have to run custom lines from the evaporator box to bulkhead under the dash.
      Make sure you buy the made to fit kit like mine to run the a/c lines behind passenger fender well.
      Hope that helps 👍

    how hard is this install on a scale of 1-10, and do I have to get an accessory belt drive system?

    • @RedRocket64
      @RedRocket64  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know what accessories drive you’re running, you’ll need a belt to turn the A/c compressor, as far as difficulty, 10 being the hardest, I’d say a 5.
