The Strogg have always fascinated me. I wish more world building detail and backstory went into them. They're too cool conceptually to be as lacking in depth as they are.
I think part of the reason they seem so cool is BECAUSE they aren't any better defined. Our imaginations fill up the holes. This is one of the tricks great horror writers pull... never quite describing the beast, so our imaginations take over.
@@JimmyRimmer In one Quake game you destroy a Nexus that operates them as a group, Borg style so that their effectiveness goes down tremendously. Unlike Borg they can function alone. Groupthink run amuck? Virus? Necessity because destroyed homeworld? Pollution or nuclear war?
Quake 4 expands on their lore and inner workings a lot more, id love a remaster of that, although it holds up pretty well today imo. Plays like Quake 2 mashed up with one of the original call of duty games, you actually have a squad of other characters with you who flesh the world out a lot more.
I remember pitting an Iron Maiden against a Berserker in the main game. Their fight ended... With me BFGing them out of existence because they ended up on the opposite sides of some road barricade, trying (and failing) to hit each other via melee. My impatience got the better of me after 10 minutes of watching them.
Unfortunately, bots on the human side in MvM barely work. They just stand stock still in spawn, leaving you to do all the work. The one exception is Spies, as they will actually teleport and decloak around the map strangely enough, but they only use their knife to kill the robots. They stab maybe one or two if they're lucky, and then perish immediately. And they stand absolutely no chance against a giant robot either.
5:44 why does a f...n iron girl stand so many berserker hits?? In the real life 2 or 3 supershotgun shots is enough to calm her down! It`s incomparable. A berserker strikes quite convincingly.
Aerial enemies never infight with ground enemies and vice versa. However, ground enemies will infight with other ground enemies that aren't the same type. Similarly, aerial enemies will infight with other aerial enemies that aren't the same type. There's a secret level in Outer Hangar that takes you to a low-gravity space station. Only aerial enemies are found there, including a boss-type enemy. If ever you wanna do more Q2 infighting, you can consider that. Alternatively, get a custom map that spawns monster types of your choosing.
Once i played Quake 2, Tank saw me from his world to my and he gets consciousness. Than he gets very heavy to defeat. I felt that he gets envy because he realized that he must live in his dimension while i live in my world. That makes him so mad, that the Quake Universe began to be real and Tank exist there and is waiting for players to defeat them. Tank try to change his dimension with a gamer he defeats. Because he try to invade earth and defeat humanity alone. then he will bring the other quake characters to earth to join our world, our cities, our technology and take their pension.
Creí que el Gladiator le daria mas pelea al Tank pero veo que no por otro lado el monstruo ese que parece una bestia logró matar al strog de un solo intento fue increible, se agradece 👍
Honestly, I know Quake 1 is special but Quake II with sonic mayhem playing is just....its just different bro. Fun fact one time in high school we had a substitute teacher in shop class (didn't do shit for assignments) so we fucked off on the computer in high school. Well I learned fairly quick that the OS for the school computers was a mirror or some shit. Well I got the idea after my iPod Video 32g stopped wanting to function like an iPod that I could at least use it as a external hard drive (I don't know how it happened but whatever) and that the computers at school would run anything on a hard drive.... So I installed Starcraft, Starcraft Brood War, and Quake 2 on my now Ad Hoc External Hard Drive of an iPod video. So fast forward to this day with the substitute teacher and I'm on a shop computer. It's a row of computers along the back wall and I pop in the USB cable to my iPod and start playing Quake II. The other kids notice and ask "Hey I wanna play". Not sure how to go about it I figure out a way. I upload Quake II to the school server. Therefore all the other computers had access to the full copy of Quake II. We started to host a deathmatch in class and the sub teacher was none the wiser. Granted no one in my class knew what Quake II was (Amatuers, also this was even 2009 or so), so it was just pure fun. I unplugged my makeshift external hard drive and left once class was over not thinking anything of it, Quake II was only like 500mb or so, what the fuck did I care when GB were still a pain in the ass... Come to find out a few months later after I graduated early in 2010, that the school server was SUPER FUCKING LAGGING and because someone uploaded a 500mb file of Quake II. Teachers were unable to load their slideshows and shit. I only found out because my buddy told me teachers weren't able to do shit from the school server. No one ratted on me. But I did kick my buddy's ass at a Starcraft Deathmatch at school because no one checked on me and he had a teacher over his shoulder so he had to Alt Tab out every 5 minutes. He came back to a "NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED" to which he was not to happy lol...good times.
I have notarget command, but once an NPC locks on you notarget command doesn't stop them from attacking. Basically I turn off notarget to aggro one of them and make them shoot other NPCs and turn the notarget on but that first aggro will countinue attacking the player even if I turn on notarget because he locked on once.
I really want to see a mod for PC to includes the levels of N64 versión and the arachnid enemies of the PSX version for the main campaign and DLC's. Sad how Quake 4 changes the forms of Stroggs, they lost their lovecraftnian essence.

It’s an amazing brutalist nightmare, the tank is so threatening yet it can barely walk, it all keeps going through brute force

"Let me out" sounds like Arnold
Always loved how the Gladiator responds to getting shot at as basically whenever I hit my toes on a threshold at night or bonk my head. :)

I spent so much time getting the strogg to fight each other back when this originally came out. It looks even better with the RTX effects.
It's beautiful, watching the strogg cyborgs fight, and getting killed in the insane machines is just awesome
Getting the Strogg to kick off against each other was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 but the sounds of the tortured prisoners... just as disturbing now as it was then!
Ah, that relieving nostalgic sound from childhood:
"Eeeeeeaghh, let me out! Eeeeeaaarrgh! Make it stop!"
Ah yes, where you manage to reach back to your squad but unfortunately they were the unlucky compare to you. 💀
Friendly Fire is never tolerated
One of my favorite aspects of of quake 1 and 2 was the infighting
These infights would be more interesting in an arena like in Doom Arena
I like do that put fight between stroggs
why do i find this so funny
Old but gold
I wish the Nightdive remaster had this RTX
Damn, this game is really unsettling, I'm glad I never played it as a kid
Almost 20k subs, great work man!

Ah, it's only flyght after punch. Nothing special.
I wish people make more custom campaigns of quake 2 like they do for doom.
Why does this game look really good and really bad at the same time
because this game has been made in 1998 while RTX is addon from a few last years

this game is really violent, in bad meaning. It's like book fantasy become realistic in 3d virtual world.
