My grandma is a part of the Threshold Singers and it’s such an amazing organization. I used to go with her and to retirement homes and I loved how the whole atmosphere would change to a calmness that everyone in the building felt.

"An act of love and support which I need most in my life right now." How beautiful. We humans can be so loving.

I had the privilege of witnessing the whole Threshold Choir at Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City on November 12, 2023. It was a sublime experience. I live far away, but if I could choose to have something like that when I am close to my transition, I definitely would. Thank you for doing this important work!

Music is so human, this should be introduced in the bleak hospital in my opinion, I mean our current medical system is really medieval!

I love this concept. More recent songs would make it even better+

How can you control emotion, so you can continue?

It isn't always easy but your tears will always enable others to cry and share their grief...and it is very often solace to those who are transitioning that someone (anyone) cares.

I'm the choir director for the Song of the Mountain Threshold Choir. Crying is ok. It models for patients and families that tears are ok. We will continue to sing when one of s starts to cry then join back in when she can. It is also a part of the gift. We give people a part of us and we get the gift of being in the moment and being able to share. There is such a feeling of joy and compassion, the emotions are part of the gift we get when we sing.

How are they not crying? I'd love to do this but would probably cry my eyes out every time I sing

YOU can begin this wherever you are. All it takes is your heart.

May I know where we can find the whole songs? Especially the first one, "you are not alone"?
