But, it was destined to be a Madhubala film, interesting to learn that when the industry came to know that Meena Kumari had left the movie, Raj Kapoor suggested his live interest's name Nargis to Mehboob Khan & on the other hand Dilip Kumar suggested hus love interest's name Madhubala & as Dilip Kumar was the main protagonist in ths movie, his call had more weight.
