    19:40 Rattler in 5.56 with 5" barrel option was really/only for simunition training in shoot houses on the 300blk platform, not for actually firing 5.56 ammo.

    I made the same "mistake" and got a Rattler when I actually wanted a Virtus. It was actually a mistake since the Rattler has it's own unique aspects. I've finally got the last piece of my 300BLK Virtus build on the way.

    When the pandemic started I was able to find 300 blackout and no 5.56. Now 5.56 is stacked at my local academy’s but haven’t seen any 300 blackout for months. Hopefully when all this sets and clears more manufactures will be manufacturing 300 aac and make it more affordable.

    I have the legacy MCX in 5.56 and I love it, it is compact and can carry it in a XL vertex bag but it’s a bit heavy to carry. I am looking to get one of these as a travel gun because I do like to travel out of state and like a rifle caliber gun, and this being a pistol allows me to carry across state lines and feels that niche. I love the size of the virtus and the feel, I don’t want the Rattler because it’s just too small. This is my cqb travel choice

    Dude you’re nuts I still have trouble finding subsonic 300 blackout, I’ve always been able to buy 556 in bulk no problem. Which is why I originally had a rattler and bought a Vertis upper only and 11.5 inch 556. Love them both still rarely shoot the Radler because the ammo is number one way more expensive in number two way harder to find

    • @EchoDelta2A
      @EchoDelta2A  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear ya, but I'm telling you - during the pandemic, I could find every type of 300BO at every gun shop, Cabela's, Bass Pro, etc. What I couldn't find to save my life was any 223/5.56, 9mm, or 45ACP. All the most common cartridges were nowhere to be found. It was scary. Not saying that'll be a regular occurrence but when there are ammo shortages, historically, it's always the common rounds that take the biggest price hike before they're disappearing from brick and mortar and online retailers.

    Rattler 300blkout is pretty much the ultimate backpack/truck rig. Running 110-125gr supers it's plenty dead on out to 200yds. Have dedicated DeadAir Wolf. Can run it in short or long config. I run all MCX's/Rattlers suppressed. There's a substantial size difference between 11.5 Virtus and 5.5 Rattler. 9" Virtus loses the compact size attribute that Rattler has and at 9" I'd much rather just size up to my much more capable 11.5 Virtus. On another note, once you start shooting your guns, you best not be putting them on white comforters lol. I did like the full mag, bolt forward, safety off, ready to rumble ☺️.

      Virtus 11.5" 5.56 can also quick barrel change to 6.75" 300BLK. The actual barrel lengths are shorter than that even on Rattler.

    I just realized that several weeks ago, you told me that you sold your Robinson Armament XCR-M on Armslist (several months ago). Whats weird is, me and my pops were looking at an XCR-M on Armslist that had the same paint job and specs as the one you had, around the time you sold it! Ultimately we by the time we made our decision it was sold! We live in Illinois and I wonder if it was yours!?
    Either way, great review brother!! I'm a fan of the Virtus. Definitely an excellent rifle and a perfect example of what a gas piston rifle can be. We just need to get you a CZ Bren 2S (not the 2MS) and a Robinson Armament XCR-M (again lol). Like I told you a little while ago, I feel like PCC's are fizzling out. Although, they still have their uses. That said, even if they don't completely go away, you already have the best PCC (B&T APC 9) made, no need for more in the future!

    • @EchoDelta2A
      @EchoDelta2A  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without a doubt, the Virtus. The Virtus will retain more value because it's the "M13" and because it's features in video games. Also, it's piston versus DI. That might be a personal preference, but to me, it makes it the more durable weapon that's a better host for a suppressor as well.

  • @darkheathen6765
    @darkheathen6765 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just put one on layaway and was hesitant and felt regret doing it because I have a rattler already and felt I was just buying the same thing but this video sold me on it and glad I snatched it up before someone else did. I also think this one looks way sexier with that gray and will be much easier to handle. The rattler for me feels awkward when I hold it due to the short handguard. I also use it as just a backpack gun but then again getting this one i don't see the point in the rattler as much. Yeah its small and compact but id rather just carry this.

    • @EchoDelta2A
      @EchoDelta2A  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My thoughts exactly. I loved the Rattler, and it will still have it's uses and convenience to be able to travel REALLY light in a backpack, but the Virtus pistol is the better all around option. And it's still small enough to tuck away in a larger backpack or small gun case.

    • @champy1210
      @champy1210 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Dirk Dingle A 5.56 Rattler is a purpose-built pistol/SBR: a highly concealable and effective PDW *in its intended role.* Having said that, it can ring steel much farther away.

      Beyond Seclusion did a TH-cam video with the Rattler in 5.56 where he was able to push it out to 300 yards. And had Very Good results at 200 yards. Not bad for a firearm with a 5 1/2 inch barrel. Oh... and NO Keyholing.

    • @absoluteresolution3822
      @absoluteresolution3822 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dirk Dingle Berry no you don’t. It depends on it intended use. I don’t believe in 5.56 under 10 inches but if it’s intended purpose is to be a CQB weapon then it’s effectiveness out past 100 yards is irrelevant. You are prioritizing mobility and size over range in that case. You have multiple rifles for multiple uses and that’s how it should be. Know the purpose for each weapon system.

      I'm not in a state where I can run any suppressor, so I can't tell you for sure if you plan on doing so.
