As an American, this show fascinates me because buying property in the US is so much different than buying property in the UK. Phil and Kirstie are very entertaining and knowledgeable. I always look forward to watching this show.
Just started the episode, so looking forward to it. I'm the same age as Phil's couple. My retirement plan is to move from Ontario, Canada to the tropics in Belize, and build a home from scratch. The land is bought and paid for. Adventure, here I come!!
You realize you can't just choose to move to another country to live there permanently right? There are these things called visas that you require. You Canadian passport gets you a visitor visa to many countries but that only lets you stay for (usually) up to 6 months.
@@dealbreakerc I visit Costa Rica every winter for a month, and there are 1000's of Canadian and Americans living permanently there. I think every country has different immigration rules. Heck, to move to Canada you just have to call yourself a refugee and you're in!
House hunting, hand holding, life coaching and laughter. I've been in my house for 30 years and now I wonder how I ever found it without Phil and Kirstie to help! The agents I originally contacted never asked or listened to what I wanted, but kept showing me their own listings, no matter the price. My kids will soon be looking and I plan to pass on all the wise tips I've learned from watching P&K.
LIsa has such an expressive face. You know immediately how she feels about something, her smile is infectious. I'm glad the retired couple found their home, but I think the husband takes the "pickiest buyer" award. He was constantly looking for wrong things in each house. Thanks for the upload.
I just "love" when the one who won't even consider the word "compromise" comes in and says "WE have to figure out what to compromise". Ya THINK?? What has Phil been saying all this time? I know I'd smack people if I had this job. Thank god for Phil and Kirstie's patience!
Lisa was so caring and sensitive to her partner it was so inspiring to watch them on their journey to find that beautiful home ..it was Gorgeous ,hope they are very Happy .
I love Kirstie, she’s reads people so well and knows how to shake them out of their fug without bullying or alienating. A very smart person. Phil’s great too, of course
Was a fun episode -all the lovely apple trees! But the retired chap must have driven Phil barmy! I'd say, look for a barn conversion - but it's Norfolk & they wanted to be within spitting distance of the sea - I probably wouldn't have shown them that last property - however, when you saw the rear aspect & the potential to add a balcony on upstairs - yes - that was a great choice! Well done Phil & Kirstles! Thanks for sharing.
I loved the 1940s bungalow so much if I had the expert diyer built-in but the adorable house they both loved is undeniably wonderful. I hope the couple who fell in love with the view of their house find that the land between them and the view, stays as is and isn't developed. I love Peggy's wardrobe which has nothing to do with anything except I think she has the taste to apply to the design and decor as they make the house their own. Very happy endings.
Well I was wondering the same thing so I looked up the house, its Churchill crescent #8 in sheringham norfolk. And its still very green behind their house. No development to be seen thankfully😊
Love, love, love this show. Phil and Kirstie are the bomb! Both couples got grand houses. So much fun seeing housing stock in Britain. We don't have the amazing variety, quirkiness, and really old properties in America.
As another American, I am fascinated by the choices of property and the vast countryside sites with views of the sea. New York is so different - even though I live on the island close to NYC.
No mention of whether the land between the house and the sea is protected from future development. I wonder how they would feel if new home construction happened directly behind their house?
Exactly! that's why I don't understand why they go on and on about "the view"! especially, with a large expanse of land. there is literally no guarantee it will look like that in 5-10 years, or even the next year.
That 5 bed chalet in Banham is to die for … a bit of a tidy up maybe but otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing Actually. I think I’d love to live in any of those houses!
The house Lisa and Yvonne chose looks wonderful from the outside, but I loved the second one they saw, the 1940s bungalow. The house the other couple bought did absolutely nothing for me, sea view or not. Oh well. Tastes vary.
Loved Both Couples I saw a show about what the Bungalow was after all the work was done on it and it was Stunning with those views from the back really modern
Wow, quibbling over 3,000 pounds in an almost 400,000 pound house seems, regardless of what Phil said, 'silly'. And, if you want to make the most of the view, move the shed
Why say "final walk away price" when it is only £3k adjustment and thousands below their budget, plus it's new to the market? If I were the vendor, I would've said, "Walk and don't come back."
It always baffles me when they have a budget amount, but are willing to walk away from a purchase because of a few thousand, and it's already way below budget.
i would have thought that someone so set on a project would be able to see past most things . with a project in mind, all things are possible. me personally, i would have liked the train. clackety clack is therapeutic rhythm.
I wish he could give me that conservatory, I am infinitely fond of them, but my house, despite a huge garden, does not allow to build on a conservatory, so putting a heated conservatory that is not attached to the house but further down the garden, love to grow things and enjoy them sipping tea in the conservatory....oh well, everyone has different pleasures.
I don’t get why so many people on the show hate bungalows, though it’s maybe about them having a reputation as being only for retirees. Still, what’s so wonderful about running up and down stairs? I own a split-level and I’m over it.

I live in the UK but I absolutely love the properties in the USA ,they're soo much bigger than ours ❤
@@jackie6343 Bigger yes. But most don't have anywhere near the charm.

An interesting project. Good luck to you.
Gee, what makes you want to leave Ontario?? (I'm being somewhat sarcastic, being an Ontarian, myself). Good on ya, good luck with your move.
You should make a youtube video about your renovations and show the steps youre taking. I think a lot of people would watch!

I found him extremely off-putting
Certainly wouldn't want him as a next door neighbour - I think he is probably a 'know it all'

I still can't afford my forever home but this is the next best thing! I always feel so happy when they get their homes.

I appreciate the history, but "really old" is a tad bit overrated.
"Phil, you schmoozy old charmer." And Kirstie, you straight-talking result-driven therapist.
Love the 1940’s bungalow! 🇨🇦😊
The man was making want to scream !!! 🤣😂🤣😂😂
OMG! LOVE THOSE TWO! ALWAYS GOOD FOR A CHUCKLE! 😊

Best Episode I've seen in a while!!
How long ago was this show filmed? Visited East Anglia and loved it when I visited years ago.
The house Lisa and Yvonne chose looks wonderful from the outside, but I loved the second one they saw, the 1940s bungalow.
The house the other couple bought did absolutely nothing for me, sea view or not.
Oh well. Tastes vary.
Its a chalet!!
I agree completely.....👍😊
My favorite too. That woodland back garden was spectacular! It deserves an owner that appreciates its charm.

Normally I agree with Kirsty, but when she says paint everything stained white, that is sacrilege.
They both bought cracking houses for very good prices. Norfolk has always been comparatively inexpensive.
Awesome for the couples. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💚🥰🤗

Yvonne looks like Beryl from On The Buses.
As an American I love British , love this show !
Nice episode BUT so old, not relevant. Wish year was shown earlier at start of Episode or at least ar first price (like Escape to the Ciuntry).
When was it filmed?
@@mittens4kittens435 It appears to be 2013
John, this won't be your last move fella, believe me...
Norfolk, huh? Isn't that the county that Jeremy Clarkson was raving about for being flat and featureless? 😆
No that was Afghanistan.
@@thehungrygoldfish it was Norfolk.
@@earlofsmeg Don't argue with this pathetic old man, he fancies himself an expert on all things.

Wow, Peggy's teeth!
God I despise rectangular sunglasses indoors.
Some of the TEETH in this episode are making me feel like I'm watching a horror movie
🤣😂
You must live a life of privilege if that bothers you that much. Or perhaps I’m just a lot less uptight and judgmental than you, lol.
At least they fix their teeth.
It'll take considerably more to fix your character.
