Way back when I searched and searched for rims with gold inserts. Cars black and gold 4th Gen and I wanted rims to match. I finally came up with Simmons three piece gold 5 spoke inserts with polished aluminum inner and outer and a ton of bolts holding it all together. Looked great for years but now am considering new rims and the Welds seem the closest match for what I have now. Would rather keep these but the rims have been bashed up over the years and the aluminum is very hard to keep looking good. Particularly around the bolts. I stayed with a more streetable 275/40 ZR17 tire for rotations and use. The car is lowered with ‘Ground Control’ adjustable suspension and the look is perfect. Good to see people still rocking on the 4th Gen and changing things to their liking. Welds in the future? Maybe…. Just wish they came in gold.
I appreciate this info. My `99 is up for a wheel and tire change as I still have the 16x8s / 245. With 391,000 miles - the chrome wheels are pretty much shot; the bead isn't sealed well on one wheel and I get tired of having to check it. I'm torn between a square or staggered setup; 17x9.5 / 17x11. It's a daily driver.
Looks bad ass, question though. If I was to run 18x10 in the rear and 18x9, or 9.5. What should that offset be, I keep hearing +50? I'm so confused. Also, I don't want to roll fenders. Thanks bud
depending on your tire size you will have to roll the fenders. Not a lot of guys running 9.5s, you would need to play with a offset calculator. I will not do that math for you because I do not want to be responsible if you do not like it. Thanks for watching!!
guys PLEASE stop putting the SAME welds on every single 4th gen Firebird in existence... it's so fuckin boring... when every Trans Am at the car show looks identical it starts to lose it's fuckin luster. welds are so lame now. get some originality please
The welds look so sick I like it I'm still back in the 90's rocking AR tt2 17x9.5 -17x11 nitto555 😆
I remember when everyone was rocking those on 4th gens! Still a timeless look! Thanks for checking out the video!
Don’t feel bad I’m rocking the same set up😂
@@SecretBachelor haha yep pretty much the official classic fbody setup
@@bluephoenix383 I went and bought some Vertini RFS1.7 matte black 19 /9.5 on all four I have my fingers crossed 🤞

Have you seen that black ws6 we filmed that painted his weld s71s gold? It looks amazing on his ack trans am! Check it out and thanks for watching ❤️
@@Autofaze I’ll have to look for it. Do you have a link?!?
Man it’s coo your sharing your wheel specs, most of the time people keep it a secret for some reason lol
Took awhile to find the old spec sheel but hopefully this helps someone out there that wants more of a flush wheel face setup!
What’s crazy is that CETA is on the weld website with no specs, meanwhile I casually come across this video and here it is!
Thanks man. Gives me a idea what imma run once i get mine underway to be worked on. Gott paint it. First engine bay then outside. Alot of work to do
Oh projects, never done always evolving. Love it!!! Thanks for checking out the video Brandon!
What backspace is the rears? Setup looks awesome!
This Car is Sick. Love it.
Lou thank you so much for checking out the video! Stoked to get it on the track next spring!

Thanks for stopping by! I've run that 17 in setup before on zr1 wheels. It's a great look!
Very Nice set up! You have put plenty of love in to your baby👍
Thanks! Stoked to get it out on the track next season and to some cruise ins! Always appreciate you watching!!
What about the ABS? You ran a shorter tire up front with lower aspect ratio which seem weird.
My 02 Z28 is running 275/40-17 up front and 275/40-18 in the rear. Looking for a new setup and wanna do 305’s in the rear thanks for the info.
Aye! Thanks for watching!
How much is it lowered on the rear? 1 1/2?

What Ecu are you running??
Hey! Stock ecu tuned by kcmaxx. Thanks for watching!
Any rubbing on each car with that wheel and tire combo over bumps?
No but rear fenders are rolled and both have adjustable panhard/lca. Thanka for watching Dylan!
@@Autofaze good to know thanks
@@dylangrewell2351 You are welcome!
Any interference in the front near steering stops?
Also, any mods to inner wheel wells to accommodate the rears?
What studs did you use?
It is on factory studs, I have ran ARP on past 4th gens.
what is the pad height , i think medium but not sure ?
Hey! Yes med, thanks for stopping by!!
What b/s are you running up front?
Just tell them the offset when you call or say the autofaze trans am. They have it on file.

These have been on the car since early 2020. I still think it's a good looking wheel! Not lame 🙃
