DOUNE CASTLE

DOUNE CASTLE (an acrostic poem)
Doune castle was built a long time ago
On a hill in the south of bonnie Scotland
Up on its high walls, the view it is so fair
No army could defeat it, no matter
how grand
Even the English (who abhorred
the Scottish)
Couldn’t conquer this stronghold,
its owners to seize
Alas for Doune castle, it now is in ruins
Sometimes it is used to make movies
The likes of “Outlander” with Jamie
and Claire
“Leoch castle “ it’s called for
some reason
Eventually they leave but the series
it goes on, with violence and
sex every season
