How reassuring!!! I so appreciate that you kept trying the products with the expectation of loving it as much as it seems everyone else does. Sometimes, you just don't. It always makes me feel like *I've* done something wrong when, in reality, it's just a reminder that every product isn't for every person. And that's okay!! Thank you
I was excited to see/hear your perspective on SUQQU. I have felt caught up in that exclusive, forbidden fruitiness of SUQQU. The scarcity and the limited edition of it all. I have bought the melting blushes and one eyeshadow quad and I have used them exactly 4 times collectively. I think it was about owning them more than using them. The lure of them, watching them getting shipped and tracking their arrival and then they go in a drawer. Being subservient to my need for a dopamine rush is exhausting. I have been more thoughtful lately about purchases. I value your perspective.
U have summed it up so perfectly. It’s so easy to get caught up in those limited edition launches; makes u ask urself: “they’re pretty but do u really need it…?”
To me the only Suqqu product worth its price and cult status would be the khaki coloured brow marker. And yes, I get the irony of mentioning it to you, of all people ;). Great video, Tom xx
Your first Suqqu review, minus the highlight issue on the dry patch - i thought looked incredible. I can understand your disappointment especially with the lack of available information on each product. It’s like we are certainly missing something (descriptive information) but it’s not available on even the europe -english suqqu page. The review for any brand can certainly be impacted by selection of the products.
I appreciate this approach to a review. I learned a lot from purchasing both Suqqu and Surratt years ago-primarily that I don’t, and never have, liked color makeup. Complexion and *powder*, however, I obsess over (a reason I watch your channel). On Suqqu, I have the limited edition lavender oil-rich powder from last year, and every time I put it on, I’m amazed, and yet I can’t tell why it’s so transformative. I want more of their powders, including this one. Powder is the one makeup item I splurge on, partly because I’m too pale for most brands (including Surratt) and so I need it to do some heavy lifting. For me, the oil-rich edges out Hermes, Givenchy, Westman Atelier, and by Terry, but it’s only by doll hairs. But it’s fun. Only buy what’s truly fun and so will be used up! 😊
Not to persuade you about anything…but I have the beige Suqqu blush and I use it on the daily. On me, it’s a great contour or light bronzer. I also use it on my eyes. It’s SO useful and the color is gorgeous. I loved this thorough review of the line as I have not tried anything else from this brand. Thank you!
Thank you for your super thorough review as always! Is it bad that I would get the suquu over foundation over the dew drop for the pump 😂 also, you get less product with the dew drop.
@@hautemesstomI know you said that the suqqu is a bit more yellow than the surratt. It also looks a hair darker? I use the dew drop in 1 and I think you use 1.5.
Suqqu is about subtlety and elegance. I personally love that style and Asian make up in general. That said, the eyeshadow palette you tried on is one of my less favourites for some reason- maybe not as buttery as others.
But.....isn't being critical about makeup the essence of this channel? If that means not being blown away wholly and completely by a product and having to issue a stamp of disapproval, them's the breaks! Let's do it! Powderheads unite!!!!! Loved your coining of the term 🤓 🪄
Hello from Las Vegas, I enjoyed your review of Surratt and purchased several products you recommended. I also found this Suqqu review very helpful. I would love to see a review of Sweed beauty. The products look amazing and the price point is believable. Have you every considered it? PS I think you title should be hauteness Tom instead of hautemess tom:) Keep up the great work.
I would so much rather watch your real thoughts, however critical, than feeling like I’m watching an ad the entire time. I’m sick to death of hearing “you need this” because you really don’t. No one does.
My skin sadly doesn’t take to Suqqu 😭 the quads don’t really perform on me, the loose powder separated and made my T zone so oily by mid day😢 The only items that I can use are the melting blushes and foundation - which again loses to Wayne Goss blush and Surratt dew drops and Chanel teint respectively. Must be a toxic trait of mine that I still lust after Suqqu 😅
Me too. Their products are exquisite in my opinion, and the eyeshadow and blush packaging beautifully elegant. The price of lipstick, liners and blushes is usually less than many other western luxury brands like Armani, Dior or Chanel.
Digression: I’d die to see Lithium, Crystal Constellation, and Elephant swatched next to each other 🖤. I have CC, but have been eying both of the others. Realistically, I’m probably not buying more, but the swatches might help talk me out of it, you know?
When I put together the moondust video together I am planning to search similar shades. But everything you have listed with CC is a lot more sparkly than CC I can tell you that much off the noggin. I’m thinking lithium may be closer to Rhino the Elephant. There’s some unexpected green to lithium.

very good review 10/10

I probably won’t go out of my way any time soon for it but I’ll keep it in mind!
title is very "it's been 84 years..."
So is the video lmao
😂
I have always been underwhelmed by Suquu. I agree with your review!
Thank you for your super thorough review as always! Is it bad that I would get the suquu over foundation over the dew drop for the pump 😂 also, you get less product with the dew drop.
I don’t think so! I think that’s a good a reason as any. lol I don’t mind decanting the dew drop
@@hautemesstom The arts and crafts of decanting is kind of fun, not going to lie, lol

Appreciate this video!
Not the lipstick without a lid! 😂 Is it luxury or are we suckers?
Cult beauty sells the lids but they appear to be cheap plastic like the tube. lol

Are you still loving the lisa eldridge skin tint?
❤❤❤Thank you, Tom🤗🤗🤗
I live in uk. Love Suqqu blushes and palettes. Ordered the new limited edition beige blush that goes into blue. V excited. Want to try the powder.

All that being said I’m watching with flu, so not putting makeup on. Either binge watching your channel or shaking with chills
