The Accentus GM tournament of this year's Biel International Chess Festival is a 6-player double round-robin tournament taking place from 22 July to 1 August 2018 in Biel, Switzerland featuring the reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Peter Svidler, David Navara and local hero Nico Georgiadis.
Players receive 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. Official website: www.bielchessfestival.ch

Another serious blunder is tilting the camera upwards, capturing more of the ceiling lights than the subjects themselves. It's a long road to become a selfie grandmaster
if you look at the age of the guy, if he's making blunders like that at his age there's probably no hope of him ever becoming top 50 in the world at selfies. Let alone world selfie champion

Timothy Lee No. After the game Carlsen showed the two variations by which Rook b8 looses. One of them is very interesting: 1. Rb8 Nf3+ 2. Kxg2 Nxe1+ 3. Kf1 Rdxf2+ 4. Kxe1 Kh2... And here if you queen the pawn, you get mated: 5. a8=Q Rf1+ 6. Ke2 R8f2 7. Kd3 Rd1+ 8. Ke3 Bd4#
And if you don't queen the pawn after 4 ...Kh2 and choose to eliminate the black rook instead: 5. Rxf8 Rxf8 6. a8=Q Rxa8 7. Bxa8... And you enter an endgame winning for black. The black bishop is going to collect the white pawn on h4 (getting two passed pawns on the king side) and then easily block white's center pawns with an easy victory.
Magnus castling to the king side is the not-on-the-boat variation

8:05 i was watching live commentary by GM Yasser Seirawan and 2 other GMs and they all 3 went nuts and tried to calculate all the different possible variations, searching for the winning moves for black. It was really intense and fun to watch!

Speciality about Antonio's commentary. Till 3:35 he was successfully able to maintain suspense which side will Carlsen castle.

Bout the pass pawn..sometimes u say it is good and some other times u say the pawn structure is back in terms of many pawn islands.. confusing sometimes

I wish you would have spent a little more time on whites move on 10:10. Engines favorite move here is Rb8, and i think after the first variation white would get to promote his queen.

Indeed , a most interesting clash in a Sicilian Najdorf that led to very sharp positions. Two super GM's countering each others blows like fencing masters.
I think 10:06 the best move is Rook b8 . Guarding the a8 square for promote the a pawn to a Queen.

I loved this game! The sicilian is my favorite. Also I'm surprised how anyone could think you ever said fast pawn instead of passed pawn.
Why wouldn’t Carlsen exchange the dark square Bishop early in the game when he had the chance ?
Agad must have an 48h day - otherwise i cannot explain how he manages to upload so many great videos!
As Agad says, it's PASSED PAWN, not past pawn. Passed literally means "he's already gone".

A passed pawn may also be a fast pawn, sometimes it can even be a blast-pawn, but you are in trouble if it is a last-pawn! And be aware of a passed pawn that you do not own.
Instead of Nf7, fxg2 was best and very critical if carlsen didnt play the best moves he is lost I thought u would consider it

He doesn't have to promote right away. He could even sacrifice his rook by capturing the rook on f8 after RxBf2 and then promote
