It's a lot of information. I feel like the 15-20 minute videos aren't enough. I'm glad you like them. I am trying to give out real information on this game
I'm confused. I'm going to send out the march of the archers. The general has all flat values. I have layers t1-t13. How many troops and what layers should I send? Thank you
Thanks for the insightful information. Really good. I am k36/k37 low coin guy have been playing for about 2 years and a few months. I made a choice way back to develop Roland while all my friends were choosing Martinus. So that breakdown at the end was very welcome! I also developed Elektra and am happy about it. The only place I'm not decided about is my defense and wall gen. I have all of them and didn't put much into any just yet. And I don't have any T1 mass built up. For a while people said medium keeps should do T1 ground but later the word on the street was T1 mounted for everyone. Do you have any thoughts about this? I am thinking to stick with Dewey for main and there's so many flavors for assistant, I'm kinda stuck. Leonidas, Marshall, Leo III, Boudicca etc...
Thanks for this video. I've been saying this for a long time that march size will scale up overall attack better over time as you rally point gets upgraded. I've always recommended combining tavern generals with March size red star ability + a paywall general with gold book and or specialty that gives march size. I also told most to use spirit beast with march size + march size ring for mounted and ground. For siege and range use the range bonus ring + march size beast if possible. I will admit...I use Martinus + Custer for monster hunting. The thing I like about Custer is you get good HP and you can put a lv4 march size skull book. Roland + Custer don't work, but Roland + Yue Fei works. For free to play cities that can't afford to develop an assistant for each attack general, consider Genghis "the march size king" Khan. He combos with just about ever power lead general and he gives 31% march size as the assistant. Wish we could drop a lv4 march size book on him like we can with Custer and Barbarossa.
There are some downsides to March size that I didn't mention. -If your Alliance are overfilling Rallies, Stat buffs would probably be better. -You potentially lose more power if you lose an attack -Too much march size with inadequate buffs are also a boon. As for Mounted generals, I don't think it is worth it to switch from Hannibal/Martinus/Roland if you have already invested in them. The benefits you receive are negligible. As for Assistant generals, it should be possible for even free2play players to have access to premium generals that they can make as an assistant.
@@rajkumarn.t4581 Custer is my all-time fav. He is one of three generals with 10% gold book, 6% spec#2 and allow the lv4 march size book. Barbarossa and Li Shimin are the othe two that have the 3xMarch size percentage combo.
That Roland comment got me thinking, I enter barbs with no general for amount required and sometimes I'll use March size buff for that little oomph in power, your little Roland drop at the end has me really thinking. I have all 3 free ones and bought the $5 Maximilian. Now thinking about making Roland the number one instead of assistant to martinus. Great video BTW.
Roland with Maximilian/Zhao/Mordred as assistants are all good options. Hopefully one day I will make a barb video to show how people can't reduce their wounds to the minimum.
I like the concepts presented here and have been thinking about this for awhile, specifically as it relates to a secondary T11 siege General, though I am not 100% certain that "flat is better for defense" is so cut and dry as described. Keeps seem to reach a point at which solo attacks against them are simply not viable anymore, and at that point the debuff capacity of the attacker drops off significantly as subs are lost when rallying. Perhaps this begins to sway back towards max debuff at later stages with immense tactics research, but as if now I am not accustomed to seeing anywhere near max debuff of even the simplest stats like Siege attack when it comes to rallys. This seems to lean more in favor of % refines to bolster the high tier units in defense. What do you think?
I agree that Rallies don't have the same debuff capacity as marches with sub cities and will negate the advantage flats have over debuffs. My intention was to make a defense centered video, but I needed to cover buffs first. I will go into more specifics then. As for refines, flat attack is always the best. This is because ALL layers of your keep attack the enemy. Whereas only your top tier troops get attacked by the enemy (an exception is made for siege) HP and Defense % refines can be good if are not relying on a T1 wall defense. % Refines will make your T13-T15 more difficult to kill but if you lose those troops, the rest of your layers will crumble. Even if you are only partially debuffed, T11 and below greatly benefit from flats more than percents.
@Derrick Defies I suppose you really just need to calculate based on a specific keeps build structure to know where you gain more from Flat Vs. % on your wall, but generally it does seem Flat is going to win out in the vast majority of scenarios. It would take a pretty top heavy build to tip the scales towards %. Very interested in hearing more about the Siege exception. Great content as always, thanks! -Jathom
Thanks for another excellent video. A quick (and late) question about the basic formula from the earlier videos. The initial video suggested (I'd thought) [troop no x k x attack] / [attack + defence]. But the examples and the second video suggest it's [troop no x k x attack *squared*] / [attack + defence]. Is the latter the right one? Sorry if I've misread or missed something ...
I have showed the formula in 2 ways Troop No. x Attack x k x A/(A+D) And Troop No. x k x Attack squared /(A+D) Both are correct. The reason I didn't square it in the first example is to help show what is going on. The A/(A+D) portion of the equation is determining how much defense is reducing attack. 0 Defense would result in this being 1. Which would mean zero reduction. Troop No. x Attack x k x 1 If the value of defense is more than 0 it will reduce the attack. I hope this helps explain it better.
Hi Derrick, great video. I might need your help with something. Just like you compare Roland and Marti, I've been comparing Trajan+Alexander the Great vs Elise+Forkbeard. Needless to say, me saying that Trajan has more potential than Elise is not a well recived hypotesis. All I say is that after base buffs reach 2000% or even 1500%, march size becomes a much bigger factor than we give it credit for. If you analyse the raw numbers of Trajan and Elise (which is how most people choose their generals) then sure, Elise is better than Trajan. But once you Add the 1500% base buffs, then it's a whole different story. Now imagine having 3000% or 4000% base buffs like the top players do. Then I'm crazy enough to say Trajan and Alexander might even beat, or at least equal Suchet + Totilla. Care to elaborate on that?
I think I misunderstood something. I'm primarily focused on monsters (but I'm watching these videos to help my alliance with SVS). I'm currently at T12 mounted and in 2 weeks will be transitioning to T13. I want to start fighting Kamitaichis, most lvl 3 special monsters (turtles, witches, sphinx) and lvl 2 Ymir. Would you still recommend percentage buffs on dragon equipment? Or a flat buff?
I need help in improving defense and attack. I have a k40 account with 7B power. Our opponents in battles are strong and I can only stay with it for an hour... I want to arrange layers from t14 to t1 with a path of 3000000
All attack refines should be flat. The only exception would be if your keep has much more T13-T15 than T1-T12 As for what troop you should refine the flat attack for is completely up to you. I would recommend archer/mounted/siege.
Hey bro, your assumption that X amount of troops at 900% buff is equivalent to Y amount at 0 buff is invalidated by your previous discovery. If you would like to talk more on discord about what I have found

Hi Derrick . Is there any chance that you made a mistake of basic stat of T14 ( ground ). I checked myself that is 2.700 for ground t14 .
Yep I noticed this too unless I’m making a mistake
so, March size is more important then buff?
It depends. But generally speaking. Yes
overall flat numbers look a bit different. if clear t14 cav attack 6,670 with 1.5m march and 1000+376.6% then Martinus will deal 137.7 b damage
If same 1.5m march size to 1000+356.4+37.3% - then damage with Rolland will be 139.4 b damage
May I ask
How to deal ta traps
In Short, rallies are your best option.
