    10:08 And here we have a lone NPCU. I wonder what it’s doing there. I also like how the cab cars provide views, but it’s unfortunate that the newer ones took it away.

      Chartreuse Railfanning I’m not sure, unfortunately, I think they’ll be leaving sometime close to spring, it depends when locomotives 120, 569, and 570 get back from repairs

      @@BurlingtonBuck HEP?

    • @BurlingtonBuck
      @BurlingtonBuck  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TexasRailfanProductions HEP stands for Head End Power, it’s electricity to the passenger cars and is provided by a generator on the locomotive, the F59ph/phi’s have them at the rear (the radiator fan at the very back shows the location) meanwhile, F40PH’s (like LTEX 310 and 330) use their prime mover to provide HEP to an Alternator but it had to be at a constant 893 rpm, this is why they were named “screamers”

    • @railfanxjofficial
      @railfanxjofficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BurlingtonBuck HEP is used on many engines now Including freight diesel locomotives for special events for example:
      a diesel locomotives or 2 applies electricity for the passenger cars if there is a non HEP equipped locomotives in front
