- My name is Paulo Leite, and music is a fundamental part of my life. I started buying music records when I was a kid, and never stopped.
On this episode of The Best Record Shops, I am visiting Lemezkuckó, in beautiful Budapest, Hungary. This is a decades-old record shop that's well-known among music lovers in the city. This is a big collection with many thousands of CDs and vinyl records. This shop is one beautiful mess, where anywhere you look, you will find great albums. Seriously, there is so much to see here, that I had to break the video in two parts. On the first part, I explored their CD collection. On this part, I will explore their vinyl collection - and then, some!
I loved every minute I spent there... digging for gold (and I found it!).
You must visit Lemezkuckó when in Budapest.

Why am I making these videos? Because I hate to see record shops die. Streaming is NOT music. Streaming is just background noise. Buy CDs. Buy vinyl. Buy whatever physical format you like. Buy music. Buy movies. Buy books. Our culture is our biggest asset. It's not free. There is no feeling like sitting down in order to enjoy a music record by your favourite Artist, holding it on your hand, appreciating its artwork, reading liner notes, putting the record on the player, and pressing the Play button.
Great video 👍 Everytime when i am in Budapest, Lemezkucko Is must go place.
Totally agree. I WILL be there again!
Nice channel about record shops. I've seen a few videos and they are great. Keep the good work. Just subscribed.
Thank you very much! Cheers!
My wife and I visited Budapest in October 2023. We ran across a small record store called Wave Music. Lots of fun crate digging and bought three jazz LPs. We loved our stay in Budapest. Thanks for your video!
Hey, I'm glad you like it! I love collecting records and I go to every record shop I can find. Keep the music going! :-)
Ive been waiting for you to show Elvis stuff....what a great store...
They have it in spades. LOL!
Great selection and knowledgable staff. But on the pricey side for secondhand.
Lemezkucko is a goldmine if you want to hunt old Hungarian prog and rock 7-inches. Before going to Hungary in February, I made a wishlist of old singles by Korál, Dinamit, Skorpió and so on, and I found most of it for a very low price in the shop. On my channel I'm solely talking about Danish rock music from the 70s, but one day I'd like to make some videos about my Hungarian rock collection too.
Yes! I did find amazing stuff there.
any Kiss music????????
Yep. On vinyl and CD.
