  • RTA owns and operates the RTA Rapid Transit rail system (called "The Rapid" by area residents), which consists of one heavy rail line (the Red Line) and three light rail lines (Blue, Green, Waterfront). The bulk of RTA's service consists of buses, including regular routes, express or flyer buses, loop and paratransit buses. In December 2004, RTA adopted a revised master plan, Transit 2025, in which several rail extensions, bus line improvements and transit oriented developments are discussed

    Love the voiceover overview of the system and blending it raw footage with original sounds is in my mind perfect.

    Awesome!!!
    I'd love to see this style of video on my home area of Cincinnati, a multi-state metro area which has two major transit agencies, one on either side of the Ohio River;
    Metro (SORTA) in Ohio, and TANK (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky) in my hometown of Covington, KY.
    Cincinnati also operates the Connector, a streetcar loop which goes 3.6 miles across its downtown and Over-the-Rhine neighborhoods and has set ridership records nearly every month since COVID restrictions and fares were eliminated in 2021/22.

    I really like just the natural audio. Not a big fan of the voiceover. I muted it and read the captions, then unmuted when it was done. Meanwhile, those old subway cars really do wobble on the track!

    08:25 Seeing PARMA on that bus is fun because I live in the real Parma (Italy) which is just 7000km from Parma, Ohio 😅

    Please try this format with a street scenes video? You could introduce the city/scenes and share your impressions.

      Late 2026 and they are only for the Red Line. And bad news is as someone who knows RTA employees is the Red Line may have to shut down for up to 2 years in order to retro-fit the platforms and lines. The platforms need extending on both sides by up to 2ft. and there is supposedly a voltage issue with the overheads. There is an option with Siemens for Blue/Green Line trains but they won't fit unless those lines are completely rebuilt. It's kind of what happens when the old CEO (Calabrese) never cared about rail and left it in a state of disrepair. The cars on there now are over 40 years old and should have been replaced years ago, And unfortunately most modern cars won't fit properly without changes.
      That is why RTA has been hiring so much lately because they need more drivers for shuttles. And it would likely be split, because Triskett (West side garage) normally will only do Red Line shuttles from Airport to Downtown and will join Hayden (east side garage) in doing Shaker Lines (Blue/Green Lines). Hayden will normally do Red Line from Tower City to Stokes/Windermere because Hayden Garage is behind Windermere.
