I was born in the Açores islands, lived on são Miguel island, before emigrating. Beautiful paradise, unlike no other. Monte Palace is shrouded in mystique. In my opinion, similar to yours, it crumbled bc the island was not in any condition for a resort of that magnitude, especially in the 80’s. The only Visitors on the island, were family, who’d migrated, retuning to visit. The locals had no need, nor the money to stay in such a grand hotel. The saddest part, are the employees, who had such high hopes, & felt they were moving in a good direction , woke up one day, to lose it all, literally. They had no warning. Money & job were very tight to mostly all islanders, then, especially. Great Video. I absolutely love your edits, sounds, & music. Thank You! Muito Obrigada💚 Ilha Verde.
Andrew this video is truly amazing, I never knew such a place existed. Thank you for shining a light on this hidden emerald. With this cold weather coming on so fast your superb commentary and light humour have really warmed my soul and brought a smile to this old face. Keep up the excellent work and keep the videos coming and if your not going to support it, then give it back!! Looking forward to cold bevs, nachos and viewing big events!!
Andrew Gaidola Making good content is key, but aside from that there’s also a few other things that you can try to make your channel get bigger/grow. Branding would be a good area to focus on as well as keeping up with the trends so your videos can be recommended by other similar and more popular videos. You can also look at which types of videos work more on the channel versus some that don’t get as many views.
CrashForce thank you for the advice. Yeah finding that right brand is something I’m trying to narrow down. Pretty tough. But trail and error is probably key like you had mentioned
Great video. Just arrived from a vacation on the Azores, and of course I had to go see the hotel myself 🫣 And what a view from the rooftop, no wonder why it’s called the kings view 🤩 If it ever will be restored is doubtable. Thanks for the story and great video 🙏 Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
I have been there myself, more than once, it's a shame, but I don't think the timing was right, and there were some personal jealousies involved at that time, today's tourism is quite different, they were way ahead of their time, unfortunately they paid a price, it's not Hawaii but it's close. but there's hope.

Much appreciated. Any advice for a fresh channel just starting out? Thanks again

Andrew Gaidola Overall, I’d say you have to do quite a bit of trial and error.

Ilha verde, uma maravilha! I agree, wrong time, wrong place. Not Hawaii, but it’s home.
