You don't hands to be broke. Get robbed when you're Arthur, by the couple at the pig farm. Go back as John and retrieve all Arthur's money. I start John with around 15k
The details of the house change depending on you're choice here. If you spare them the house has flowers growing, if you kill them then there's nothing. Just dirt and rocks
I have a detail, an old lemoyne tells about a civil war battle in the small camp you can find in Scarlett meadows (not surely know where), he tells about a battle in copperhead landing. if you listen to the story, and go to copperhead landing, you can find the things that the old lemoyne speaks about, the blown house, the cannon craters...
He's probably talking abt bolder glade, which you pass by with lenny (it's that rundown building arthur draws a picture of) at night you can hear the battle like it was a ghost, with generals directing orders and cannon fire
The best thing is that in the secret method, John doesn't lose honor when he kills them. I think RDR2 not once forces the player to lose honor, and this is no exception (except when Arthur dies and you get neutral honored John).
In the robbery where you rob the post office as Arthur you have to rob all the customers and u lose honor for ever rob and you have to do it you can’t skip it

I like how most gamers are choosing to escalate with them thinking that giving them money would not work at all or would be super expensive (when John is broke) but they are not realizing that they are just a bunch of homeless dudes trying to survive and choosing the honorable option actually pays off for only a few pennies.
I feel like either option works story wise. Whether you pay them because John is trying to change and it would be a rough start if the ranch he plans to raise a family on was tainted by blood, Or John shoots them all and works from scratch. Neither option is out of character
I had a little different experience. Idr what I did but I was being searched near the shag so this mission was locked. I then quickly ran to this mission and the place was empty. I walked in to the house confused because the mission marker was there. Then the guys suddebly spawn and I get trapped inside by the guy sitting. They didn't react to me at all. I got out of it by pulling out by gun and pointing it at the guy in the house staring at me at which time they started shooting at me
Did they get overly happy for like one dollar, or even lesser? Man, if I had known I would have chosen this option. 😂😅😬 No past drama in the history of my/John Marston's land. 😇😊🤠 Edit: Actually, I checked on Red Dead Wiki, and it's $10. @@potato_duud6166 I know, but as I said, even if they're squatters and don't own this land, we're talking about their home, not like a fight over a single meal for the day or something like that.

Hey brains! You do know that people know how TH-cam works by now, it’s only been what, ~18-19 years now, if not 20? They don’t need someone that’s statistically lower than median intelligence of their country telling them how to work the big boy controls. You don’t tell them to press play or how to get into full-scree mode, so don’t tell them what the thumb, the subscribe icon and the bell does. We all know what it means and what to do with them. Every time you say it to someone, it belittles them. What I’ve found over the years is that people REALLY don’t take too kindly to being instructed in what to do by someone that’s got two pence in their pocket and lives with their mum at 45 years old - i.e. You! Still, with that 2p, you’re well within your rights to tell people that you’ve now got more money than sense.
"Looks like you made your decision then, Partner."
The closest thing that made me remind me of him as his 1911 version.
Holy crap, you're right! That sounds like it was taken straight from RDR1
Brooo I’m glad someone pointed this out as well I thought it was just me who felt that way
Apparently most of John’s lines in rdr2 were pitched up to make him sound younger, it seems like they forgot to do that with this specific line.
Totally agree! Also in American venom when joe says so its just you left huh? And john says “yea…. Just me” so dope!
I love in the end he’s completely broke and then he decides to intimidate them instead.
