I've found leaving the syringe in the fully extended position after use stops the rubber "piston" from separating from the plastic plunger... (after a good bit of use the rubber piston swells from the oil and has a tendency to stick... ) ... I inject ALLthe time, my thinking being the released oils drift a long way and the pike will sniff it before she's anywhere near enough to see the deadbait... Another great vid, mate... Keep 'em coming !! 🤗 😎👍☘️🍺
Great video mate. You asked about the bait you put that makes your heart go. I had a PB recently - 17lb 7oz on a full mackerel. The next session, I did the same and put another full one on. It went and it was a jack of about 4lbs. Funny really! My heart was definitely going when the alarm went.
Danny - good to see you back out after old Esox - great vid as usual. I was out yesterday and had 3 small jacks to about 6lb - caught my first ever on a sardine, the rest fell to mackerel. Always been a great believer, whether River, Lake or Canal, to put one out but always one in the margins - all you need to do is 'plumb around' and find that near shelf as Pike will always patrol it. Feel the same as yourself - you have a 'larger' bait on and when it goes - your mind races, the adrenaline kicks in and you automatically think "this is the one" - but Pike are voracious characters and the term "eyes bigger than it's belly" will 99 times out of 100 be the case. I always prefer to fish the float - but a new venue I have found in the Lea Valley has some swims that go too deep - so, as my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I have gone with a couple of Fox alarms plus indicators etc. - she is being very kind though if I don't use the plethora of Mackerel, Sardine, Herring, Sprats and dead Roach in the freezer by Christmas, I believe I may be singing like the Bee Gees...🤣🤣🤣 Still, as you say, and show so vividly in your vids, doesn't matter how big they are - their beautiful colours are a marvel to behold. They really are the most beautifully marked fish.. Keep doing what you are doing - always look forward to your vids.
Excellent angling there Danny always a pleasure to watch your blogs. Mind if i ask about your Fox rucksack please. Wife is wanting to buy me something for xmas and I said a rucksack would be helpful. I looked at this particular item and seeing as your using it I wondered what you thought. Cheers all the best. 👍
