This was my first time seeing any of your videos, coming from the meal planner, the first thing I noticed was how beautiful your blue eyes look. And the video was fun and entertaining. I will watch more.
you are a cool person and very handsome bald. You have an infection personality. Your optimistic attitude is infectious. Thanks for sharing! I started totally shaving during COVID and have felt great ever since.
You're last video inspired me to actually do it after literally years of putting it off. I hated going bald. But the outcome? I feel amazing. Literally 100% more confident. I wore a hat everywhere including the gym. No more. Who would of thought such a simple change would have such a profoundly positive effect. Seriously, thanks so much for the inspiration. It's been life changing.
I am a lady and I shaved my head this past winter to support my mom going through chemo. I had the same experience of increased self confidence. Letting go of something that I thought defined me and releasing that idea was so liberating. Finding out that I loved my self just as much and was even happy with how I looked without hair was a powerful experience. Although I am growing it back I think it’s a good thing for all people to experience. You’re gorgeous both ways!
Baldness is also increasing in women. Not discussed in the video. There is definitely something going on. It's harder on women because baldness is not considered beautiful like baldness is considered handsome in men.
Honestly, you have always been handsome and charismatic, and you look even better bald. I never noticed your blue eyes. Thanks for that quote. Very wise.
Your shaved head looks really good, especially with the beard! I'm 40 also and I'm not balding yet, but I have a lot of white hair. A few years ago, I thought about dying my hair but I decided to embrace the more "mature look". I've gotten a lot of compliments since then. I think it's great to embrace who we are!
Hi Derek, I’m old enough to be your mom. But I just wanted to say, your bald head looks great & with your beard and gorgeous blue eyes, you’re a very handsome man. I love how supportive Crystal is. You two are a wonderful couple! 😊 Really enjoy your videos.
Quick tip for my fellow Calimeros: The reason hair makes some look better is because it visually alters the shape of the head. Shaping your beard right can achieve the same result. You'll probably want your face to look longer so just trim the sides and grow the bottom.
My dad went grey early & so did his mom . He used to dye his hair & then he stopped & embraced his pure white hair . I am 47 & going grey since age 22 . I haven’t had my hair colored since 2019 … I got tired of coloring & upkeep . Now I embrace it !! I love my grey & white hair
I think you look great. My first crush as a kid was Yul Brynner in, The King and I. To be honest, I tend to focus on yours and Crystal's eyes in the videos. You both look so vibrant and your eyes look so joyful.
I think you look fabulous bald and it brings out your gorgeous blue eyes. Wowza! Wonderful to have such a supportive partner; you both are such a joy to watch. :)

We love the new look, Derek! It really looks great on you. Thanks for sharing your experience. I think it will really be encouraging to so many people! 🙌
You're rockin' it! I've been buzzing my hair off for about six years now (gradual thinning/balding since my early 20s), and without a doubt it was the best decision. Going into it I was worried about how I'd look or what people would say, and it all ended up being a non-issue. The daily maintenance was really just 2-3 minutes tacked onto my morning routine, and adjusting to the new look was pretty fast and rewarding. There's nothing like the confidence it builds. 🙌🏻
Right on, I personally have always shaved my head (I did have a mohawk for a while as a teenager). Partly I'm lazy, don't like dealing with bedhead or fixing my hair in the morning and also I've never really had a hairstyle that I liked. So for me it's bald+beard lol.
I think you look good bald, because you have symmetrical and fairly masculine facial features. Thing is, a lot of men go bald who... simply don't have the face for it. If you're a man with more effeminate features, and / or not very symmetrical, bald doesn't look good at all. And for men like this, I really wish society was more open and accepting of men wearing wigs / toupees.
I think most people look great bald, I've never seen a before and after pic of it looking worse after being shaved. I think good quality hair pieces are becoming more popular though, and they look so good you can't tell!
I hope this helps empower other people! The bald look is great on you and I'm glad you feel liberate. Also, could you do a video on female hair loss? I've seen so many companies claim rice water helps promote hair growth but I don't know if I trust that. Definitely going to add rosemary oil and pumpkin seed oil to my diet.

But in the paper they talk about "change carnivorous eating habits". and Also I eat soybeans as a natural part of my diet, and I always eat roasted pumpkin seeds on my morning porrige. I just did a hair transplant in Tijuana Mexico. Stoked so far. It was only about 4K which I know you got plenty of cash to get it done but I will say you still look good. When you can rock the good facial hair it really helps. I shaved my head for the last 7 years but I think the hair transplant was right for me. I do now take minoxidil and haven’t noticed any side effects last few months I’ve been taking.
I met a woman who shaved her head. Not because she was losing her hair but because she said it was far more practical for her job as a cook. No more worries about hair falling into food or anything like that. And she rocked it just fine.
@@syrahsmythe Depends. I have a brother who said he wouldn't work for UPS because they'd require him to shave his beard or make his beard look a certain way.

The study says it's as effective as minoxidil 2%, while the treatment for hairloss is usually minoxidil 5%. The hair gain was similar for both, but "similar" here essentially means null because minoxidil 2% doesn't really work. So that one is probably not on you! Thanks for sharing your journey!
Wow, a health and lifestyle influencer who actually speaks the truth that DHT and genetics are the main cause. That is actually rare! Also really appreciate your honesty in saying that of course you'd prefer luscious thick full head of hair, but you're still happy with it, although it takes a bit of upkeep. I think that's also a rare thing for people to openly admit, and I think this really speaks to how genuine you are! Folks, if you've simply been dealt a bad hand of genetic cards, diet and lifestyle improvements are just a drop in the bucket. Derek is a good example of this. Only finasteride or dutasteride will save you, and if you don't wanna take that, better just accept it.

Thanks for sharing your journey!
I shaved my head but nobody liked it =(
Wow, a health and lifestyle influencer who actually speaks the truth that DHT and genetics are the main cause.
