As a regular visitor to this zoo (I live at a 2 hours drive from there), I can tell you that the 'creepy room' at the end of the aquarium is set up as a cabinet of curiosities, which were quite popular in the 19th century. Something like a 'mystery show' of all the weird things the explorers brough back from far away countries. The temple you've shown (and others in the park) in this video is there because Pairi Daiza has good connections to the local Balinese community, which have a few celebrations there each year. (part private for the Balinese community, part open to the public). The caps on the tusks are indeed to prevent them from harming each other. A lot of zoos file down the tusks, so this is a somewhat different approach. And as long as he behaves himselves, they'll keep it with the caps... cause that's the more natural way.

Finally sat down and watched the video, what an amazing place! It's like one giant open palace for the animals, they are very lucky! Love the mascot (hope that's wright) and shame about the Yorkshire tea! 😅
Great video, tha place looks amazing! Only recently heard about this place when i started researching the best zoos around Europe and i hope to visit in the next 12 months. Would you recommend at least two days there? Also, it looked quite quiet when you visited, can i ask what time of year it was and was it mid-week? I imagine its a lot busier at weekends. Thanks
Hey Michael! We would definitely recommend at least two days. We did three and still wished we had more. We have a second video from here too because it was too big to cover it all in one vlog. There is a new exhibit opening at some point next year which should be amazing! We did midweek in September so luckily it was really quiet. Looking at photos online it does get absolutely packed at peak times. Can't recommend it enough though! Incredible zoo!
@AdamandCraigDoStuff yes, just watched that, the place looked enormous. I'll have the advantage of a 5 year old who doesn't normally let me stand and watch any specific animal for as long as I would like to... also looked at the lodges, you mentioned a video on where you stayed, is that out yet as couldn't seem to find it. Yeah it's absolutely huge! We were exhausted by the end of day 3 😅 The video from the lodge should be out very soon, we've just started editing it so it'll be on the channel shortly 😁
Spending 2 days in the park is great! I did it twice, although I only have to drive 15 minutes to get there. That's the most wonderful place in the world! The best moments to visit it? Halloween or Xmas time; a lot of people, but really stunning!
We really need to start getting out the country & exploring all these amazing places you get to, This place looks like another we would enjoy. Been to Pairi Daiza once, and didn't even see everything. There is so much to see her and they are still expanding. I really want to go back here, I saw so many parts of the zoo in the vlog we didn't even see 😅.

It's huge!!! Even after three days we didn't feel like we'd explored as much as we wanted to. What an incredible place, we have to go back one day!
