    Good driving man -that looked like a fun session. I loved the last lap side by side. Neither of you guys were backing off!

      Overtake for sure. It's fun to switch it up between clean TT laps and then some traffic laps. Both are fun skills to practice.

    nice driving as always! 🔥 do you think a similarly prepped nc miata can keep up with the rx8 and brz?

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I do. In fact there's an NC here that also runs tuner 4 and is close to my times.

      I cringed watching you barrel into turn 1 like life wasn't worth it anymore. Great wheeling!

    Would you consider a 4.77 final drive upgrade to your rx8?
    Edit: EXCELLENT DRIVING

      RICHARD TANGO yeah I've been thinking about it. Waiting for a series 2 differential to show up at a good price.

      Hi there, what`s the difference between S1 and S2 diff?

    • @richardtango1104
      @richardtango1104 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yuanxin Song s2 diff has better acceleration than s1 diff

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4.44 vs 4.77. slightly better acceleration but potentially more shifting

      Wow, thanks for the info! I will do some research about that. :D

    Wow 2700 in a rx8 is good i should be around that in my FD. Add full exhaust, aem cai and cobb with tunning. That should help stay with him coming out the turns

  • @arrivendrive6831
    @arrivendrive6831 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How Is he pulling on you in the straights? Rx8 about 3100 lbs with 238hp and the brz not sure on wieght but hp is only about 200

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spinningtriangles brap brap he's lighter to start and has more weight reduction (removed interior). He also has better engine mods and tuning. My rx8 is down close to 2700# now with full interior, AC, radio intact

      @@rx8matt Wow thats very impressive what did you remove to save near 300lbs if you dont mind me asking?

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trapjokes1282 the base model Rx8 is much closer to 2900 pounds fully wet. Lighter parts and less fuel gets it pretty light.

    Take out the back seats if you haven't they are 28 lb and that's pretty good weight reduction

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do The M.E.D.S yeah that's a quick-and-easy I've done in the past. However, the car is now at minimum weight with the seats in. I'm restricted on how light I can go by racing rules.

    Fun video and nice driving 👌🏼 I still think an Rx8 with 450-500hp would be the perfect combination ❤️

      It would sure be a little more entertaining at steep hillclimbs!

      Warren Stroud never noticed it before, but it almost sounds like it! Guess he really wanted the lead

  • @Berry29tm

    Matt, why did you disconnected the rear sway bar?

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Berry29tm 1. With 10/7k spring rates, the car is a little loose with the factory swaybar setup. I could use a bigger front bar to balance it, but that adds weight and I'm a fan of "letting the suspension work". 2. Disconnecting the rear bar allows full rear droop, so when I'm on the power and drive over curbing, I get less inside wheel spin and the car is upset less. Again, the suspension is allowed to move more freely.

    a few things.
    is the brz running some sort of FI setup? I never expected it to be faster on the straightaway
    how do u feel about getting the s2 over the s1 rx8? i know the gearing on the transmission is taller but im really thinking about the longevity with the extra squirter
    also how did u feel about that bmw driver. Ithought he was a bit all over on a few turns. it kinda ticked me just watching but im new to this type of stuff.

    • @rx8matt
      @rx8matt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      neverfeed no FI, but the brz has a little more engine tuning and a little more weight reduction. The series 2 is nice, maybe a bit more reliable, but they're also much more rare and expensive and a little heavier than s1. Traffic can be annoying but it's also part of the fun and challenge. I get clean, flat out laps during time trials and I get to work my way through traffic in HPDE. they are both fun.
