    He had one great run at the crucible and fair play. He's a world champion forever. Otherwise, his career has been very average in comparison to the great players throughout the years. Hendry has earned the right to criticise whoever he likes

      I was trying to think of a nice way to say this! Well done.
      And especially difficult when Stephen can’t play well anymore. He’s also frustrated by Murphy’s insistence on commentating AND playing, which Hendry thinks is keeping Murphy from realizing his potential.

Ronnie won most of his titles with a much stronger field with so many top players that can win it any day just to name a few Trump, Wilson, Higgins, Selby, Williams, Robertson, Allen, Murphy the list goes on and on. Whole lot of armchair players in this mf comment section. Anyone, at all, that’s watched Luca play cannot possibly deny his talent. Watch his crucible run, again. That was not even relatively a fluke. He can do it again. Priorities askew? Maybe. But he doesn’t owe a god damn person a thing other than himself. Let the man live his life, jfc. Steven has a lot of nerve to say he’s “hardly won a match” when he’s literally over 60% win rate and +300,000 since winning. Wildly inaccurate take

  • @Nico-qt4qz

  • @JamesMc2051
    @JamesMc2051 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think it must be very difficult to remain focused on one thing and value that when it can be really frustrating and you are under the microscope to a degree. When something becomes your career then it can be more difficult to derive pleasure from it in the same way. Some people accept that and others instead treat the sport in a less professional way in order to not drive themselves crazy with seeking that 1% of improvement at all times like someone like Hendry or Davis would have. Brecel was always a bit of a shock winner who was very talented at his best but a bit variable in terms of performance.
    I can understand in a small way because I also played a cue sport (although the money and interest side isn't there so the comparison ends there). I was fine for about a decade when I was getting better then when I started competing at the top in my country and more regularly it just never became fun any more. It was nothing to do with winning or losing. Prior to that I'd enjoyed just playing the game and I didn't by that time. I'd spent too long in the same places doing the same thing and had started to regret doing so. My game was at its strongest but my desire to play was at its lowest. Hanging around pubs and clubs is fine in your teens and early twenties but it gets very samey after that. How many times can you walk around a table with a bit of wood, hitting balls?
    Brecel strikes me as someone who has, at some point prior to even winning the WC, had that same sort of feeling and has decided not to put all of himself into snooker and chasing glory. I think he won the WC despite that.
