  • Don't let anyone ever tell you that size doesn't matter hello everyone welcome back once again clean money here thanks for tuning in i appreciate you guys stopping by and taking your time out of your busy days to watch this video now best gold coin size or best gold coins or best gold in general it's a topic thrown around youtube quite a bit and i love doing these videos because it's actually pretty fun i like the debate i like the the knowledge that is given back and forth because we don't all live in the same areas we don't all live in the same countries so what works best here in the states doesn't necessarily work best for you guys in your country so these are some of my top picks these are what i like to stack these i find these to be more liquid and better options here in the states now obviously different countries require different types of metals and different types of purity as far as your taxes are concerned and you should absolutely stack what's most prevalent in your country and to be quite honest with you the best gold coin is the one that you can afford to buy regularly and it's as simple as that that's probably the best advice that i could give you as far as that goes but the best gold coin is obviously the best is the one that you can afford.

    Even nicer coins like the Perth Mint Tigers were affordable in fractional recently. I like the fractional because I buy some bullion at the end of each month, with whatever extra cash I have. Some would say "Save up for an ounce" but I've found that if you try to save up - the money ends up going towards something else. Congrats on 10 K SB - what a milestone!

    I really appreciate your insight - you actually helped me (finally) decide on a buying strategy. I’ve been going back and forth between buying 1oz eagles and buffalos, but I’ve also been interested in diversifying with fractional gold. Moving forward I’m going to go for an even volume split of 1oz buffalos (for the 24k and good looks) and fractional eagles (for the liquidity and slightly less good looks). I know that plan might not be very original or eloquent, but I’ve been trying to decide for like a year now haha. Keep up the great content!

    Absolutely right. Awesome video Clean Money. Your right in saying that the best gold coin and size will depend which country you live in and your budget. I live in Canada, so the best gold coin for me (cheapest on a budget) is the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. American Gold Eagles and Buffaloes are more expensive. The best coin size for me is the 1/10 oz or the 1/4 oz. I also have a couple of 1 ozs

    • @SilverBritches
      @SilverBritches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maples are fantastic and I'd be proud to own more of them if I didn't have tax implications here. I will be switching my silver stacking strategy over to Maples because of the quality and premiums.

    LOVE seeing what everyone else gets. We each have our goals. For us, it's 400 ounces of Silver this year and at least 2 ounces of Gold, but hopefully more Gold. Should be able to complete that soon. Personally like the fractional over full ounces of Gold. Believe they will be easier to sell as more people could afford the smaller sizes and price. But, 1/10 is the lowest I purchase, not big into the grams. Why? The premiums start getting expensive. Oh, liked & subscribed.

    The only gold bars I think that make sense for SHTF scenario is the ones that come in 100 grams sheet, but are pre cut to one gram single denomination. They make the most amount of sence of you believe you will have to use actual gold as currency in the future to barter or buy things. The problem with one solid gold bars in the one ounce, 5 ounce, 10 ounce denomination is realistically thinking of a situation where you might need to spend several thousands of dollars in one single purchase. You take a standard
    1 oz bar and that equals to approximately to almost $2000 dollars. A 5 oz bar is in the $10,000 dollar price rage. And a 10 oz bar is absolutely insane category of $20,000 dollar category. Now imagine a situation where even in a SHTF situation you need to purchase something in that price range in one purchase. Totally unrealistic and most people are not gona have the change to give you back $15,000 or $18,000 back in gold. Even a standard 1oz bar or even a coin again is slightly over the top, because most people will not be needing to make $2,000 purchases in one setting on regular basis. I think thats where those gold bar sheets make perfect sence. You can buy 100 gram sheet, which is slightly over
    3 oz of gold, but precut to 1 gram bars. So if you need to buy food say for a week, you can break off one or two 1 gram bars, and you now have a realistic value of $60-$120 dollars you can spend on food. Need ammo, again, break off one or two bars and a realistic amount for ammo. And even if you overpay, and the seller doesn't have change back in gold you won't loose much. But trying to buy food with 1oz gold coin or bar is just ridiculous and you will findbit real quickly that almost no one will have the ability to give you change back in gold in the amounts of $1,000, $1,500 or $1,700 dollars. So unless you are prepared to loose 90% of you gold, or end up buying way more than you need in hope of selling it to others, you are gona be in a tough spot. So fractional are absolutely a necessity in my opinion in that type of situation. I still believe you should have 1oz denominational coins or bars, so consolidate and to have the most value in a small package, but I would say 25% should be 1oz or more, 50% should be in quarter oz denomination and finally 25% should be in 1gram or 1/10 oz denomination. Thats just my personal opinion. Let me know if you guys, agree, disagree. Great video, great topic.

    The idea of trying to decide the right time to buy is difficult but in my opinion what would u do with the cash if u didnt buy gold ? Holidays , newest tech , a house with a larger room that u dont really need .
    Saving the money 100% gives you a loss when inflation comes into account.
    Gold in 35-50 years is gunna be probs around $3,500 oz.
    So your gunna make money and if not then you saved money in an item that does pretty much always keep up with inflation.
    Im from uk and the royal mints conditioning atm is terrible, and the premiums are very high for gold and silver.
    Does anyone know a trusted coin seller or international companies ?
    Getting hold of maple leafs in the uk is very hard at the moment

    I like what you say. The best is what you can afford. 1/4 ounce seem good to me. Even 10 ounce. Most people could not afford a one ounce gold coin. Plus when you go to sell I would imagine easier to sell of smaller coins. Most other channels keep pushing 1 ounce gold. I like the way you give the others a chance. More achievable for ordinary folk.

    • @SilverBritches
      @SilverBritches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure they push them because the math works in its favor. I prefer the one ounce but I understand it takes extreme restraint for most people to not spend that cash on something else.

      Me personally I buy 1/4 oz Maples and Britannia's, I like the fact the 2021 Britannia carries its security features down into the fractional. The Maples may be more liquid but I think as time goes on the Britannia will do likewise. Once I fill a tube of 1/4 oz I may switch to a goal of 1/2 oz full tube. It used to be that platinum was more expensive than gold. Since they've flipped, I'm wondering if platinum is better than gold. Has the government ever confiscated platinum? The down side is it's not as easily traded or recognized as gold. Regarding gold, it's been tough for me to buy more than 1/4 oz. at a time. (I did get 1 gram each for the kids' stockings this year. Might as well get them started. I've gotten them silver rounds the last few years.)

      I once bought a Valcambi bar that can be broken down into smaller fractionals. I don't know how practical that was, but it can be spent as a whole or broken down into smaller amounts, as needed. Unless you're making a big purchase or house payment or re-selling to a dealer, I think the smaller amounts are more practical in gold.

    Saying that a certain coin adds liquidity to your stack and then in the very same sentence saying that not everyone is looking for them so you have a narrow market to sell them to is a contradiction in terms. If you're going to have a hard time getting someone to buy it, it reduces your liquidity. Also, I agree with buying "some" fractional coins. But only enough to give you a reasonable buffer of liquidity between the cold hard world and your stack. The bulk of your stack should be the purest Bullion that you can buy for the lowest premium. If you were to buy 10 - 1/10 oz gold Eagles versus 1- 1 oz gold eagle at today's price on SD Bullion you would pay $404.72 more for the fractional coins than you would for the 1 ounce coin... $404 more for the same amount of gold. That is a terrible investment strategy. I guess you have to decide upfront are you collecting them as a hobby because you like them and you think they're beautiful or are you seriously laying down Bullion as one of the building blocks of your wealth. If it's the former buy all the crazy coins you want. If it's the latter you need to be a lot more critical about your choices. That being said, I have bought a few coins just because they're so damn beautiful I can't resist. But the bulk of my stack is made up of the purest gold I can find at the lowest premium. I guess I'm kind of a hybrid stacker.
