- The most awesomely terrible movie I've ever seen. Three or four Koreanime mashed together into one poorly dubbed film that gives up pretty early on trying to have any kind of plot or make any sense. These are some prime cuts from the film. I DID NOT EDIT ANY OF THESE SCENES IN ANY WAY. I JUST STRUNG SOME OF THE BEST PARTS TOGETHER. You don't even need to BOTHER pooping it because it's hilariously nonsensical enough as it is.
Wal-Mart sells this on DVD for a dollar, but you can also see it for free at the Internet Archive. One way or another, if you haven't watched the film yet, you need to or you haven't lived.
My sister bought it at Movie Trading Company for two dollars even though it's only one dollar at Wal-Mart. Haw.

Isn't it a fascinating piece of high quality art. The moments you ask yourself "what movie am I watching again" the ever changing characters. Why oh why is there a wooden shipwheel on a space station. And why the hell so many recuts back to the same few frames. Such an utter delight of great pacing..

Wow! A Joseph Lai anime! Just watching this makes me smile, and this thing has Godfrey Ho written all over it. I wonder how much, if any, he or Tang had to do with the production.

3 or 4 Korean rip off movies, some very badly drawn rolled into one and dubbed by Omni Productions (possibly). What more could you want from a bad film? :D
It's actually more like 7 or 8. And some of them would be just as bad as Space Thunder Kids save for the fact they're more consistent.

You're forgetting Space Transformer, or as we all call it DIATRON 5. It's probably the best out of all of them. I had to go to the bathroom several times while watching it.
This is what the professors at the end are saying:
Purple: "That's right. No one will ever again use terrorism to try to impose their will on the whole universe."
Blue: "I'm glad you feel that way. Now the process of rebuilding must begin. Let us structure a new universe with no weapons of mass destruction and where the leaders bow to the will of the people, not the other way around."

1:28 is my favorite. I'm so glad you posted this. I wish I could've stayed there longer to finish it with you guys.
It's like watching someone make their very first attempts at figuring out animation and timing right before your eyes. And listening to a bunch of people hired off of Craiglist for $20-50 each to spend one hour reading off of scripts they've never seen before in one take.
The only way to get full appreciation of this quality Joseph Lai production is to watch it back to back with a few of his other impossibly cheap and sloppy 'Koreanime' splice-jobs, such as Defenders of Universe and Protectors of Space. You may not emerge with your sanity fully intact; but the tears of laughter will make the journey more than worthwhile.
... and if you're feeling masochistic, follow it up with some "classic" Godfrey Ho (who used the same cheap techniques), like NINJA TERMINATOR.

You'd think with how many times the narrator says "SPACE THUNDER KIDS!" that these were snippets from a tv show, and that was the intro for each episode. But no, this is a _film_ . They added those narrator cut-ins in a _film_ !
This isn't how the actual movie is edited. All of those "SPACE THUNDER KIDS!!!" title shouts are from the film's trailer.
The tanks roll for about a minute and are never seen again! I laughed hysterically.
Defenders in Space is also on the archive. Same sort of thing.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only person who has seen this movie.
