My absolute favorite part of this movie is where the main villain dies. So this guy has only been seen on screens and monitors the whole movie, you never see him in the flesh. So you would naturally think this guy is at some hidden secret location, right? And the good guys have to go and find him? No no, at the end, they kill him by throwing a tron disk at the monitor he's displayed on, and this kills him. Like he's apparently not in front of a camera in some other location, he is actually physically right there inside the screen. I am absolutely fascinated by this because I am very curious as to whether whoever made this god forsaken movie understands how monitors work. Like if he sees someone displayed on a tv, he actually thinks he's looking at a little man trapped inside a box.
I remember getting this as a kid cause I thought the front cover was the coldest thing ever and then I watched some of it. Got confused waiting for the cold af gold robot. Fell asleep. Put it away and I guess I didn’t properly snap it in the case cause when I pulled it out the back was all scratched up. Guess the universe was saving me back there

I have yet to watch this beginning to end, but it's excerpts from what, four or five different Korean knock-off anime movies? Godfrey Ho would be proud. Korean Tron is the only one I'm remotely familiar with but it would be great if the others somehow surfaced in some form. As far as mecha is concerend, I'm seeing KOs of Mazinger, Grendizer, some Giant Robo villain ( I think it was a villain robot), Inferno from Transformers, A Zaku, and let's not forget to mention Gamilas ships from Yamato, the Yamato itself, and Captain Harlock's Arcadia.
The films used in this are: Savior of the Earth (this one is Korean Tron), Defenders of Space, Protectors of Universe, Solar Adventure, Space Transformers and Iron Man Trio. All except for Iron Man Trio were dubbed into English, and they're all floating around online (Archive has them, for starters).
Godfrey Ho quite possibly is the one who did this. It's the same company as most of his releases and he used "Elton" as the first name for at least one of his many aliases. All the other credits are clearly fake, so I'm sure Elton Reins is not the real name of whoever put it together!
I say this as a huge fan of vintage anime. This movie could have done with a lot less filler action sequences and a lot more character development. That was an hour, and 19 minutes, and 54 seconds that I'll never get back. Oh well, for a free movie, it was fun. 😅😅😅

I wish the movie was instead a comedy about the one guy at the beginning trying to prove to his overly strict and in denial captain that there was a blip on the radar.
