It’s so cool to watch all these mid 2000s cars that I grew up loving being used and abused, you just don’t see videos like these, especially with how crazy some of the stunts are. I love it.
Always one of my favourite characters from the mischief films , Rob you truly are a legend man. Thanks Vinwiki , we need this great content now more then ever to keep us smiling !
I remember that Gt2 and that SL 55 from some of the old gumball rally videos. Nostalgic There is a video where that SL 55 and X5 and Ferrari F50 are all maxed out on a American highway.
That’s sad to hear he stopped. I kept thinking he disappeared and everyone knew he wasn’t into social media so nobody could really ask what he was up to. Hope to see him again, he had really good character. 😎👍🏻
I wish I could find the disc for my IMV vehicular lunatics. I remember this so fondly words can not describe. Few people around me understand how I love this shit
@@IMVFilms oh yeah I remember that for sure. Seems like a little different edit than the DVD from what I remember but brings back all the same memories. Love to see you guys are still around all these years later and know its things like this that gave me the love I have now for cars
The gt3 was up for sale years ago for not a lot of money. I was on the 2004 gumball and if I remember rightly he got arrested and spent a few days in jail.
zomble Also Rob is quite active on LinkedIn out of all places, so if anyone wants to try and get in contact with him that’s your best bet! Find him under Rob Kenworthy in Telecommunications
@@Samuel-my2ik There are two Rob Kenworthys, one runs a business called GTMaritime, the other (GT2 Rob) was embroiled in a major international VAT fraud case along with his brother Adam. If you google "Phuncards-Broker" along with their names you'll find all sorts on that.
With the roads being so empty recently due to the virus, it’s the perfect time to let these cars absolutely rip. If only there was a guarantee of not getting sick.
@@NED07 shoot I didn’t finish what I was commenting..... I meant to say that because of legal troubles, he might not be allowed in the US to do an interview. Sorry forgot to say that part lol
That is fucking insane how they were driving those cars and passing on the median and then hiding in that ditch. Watching that Porsche and Mercedes driven like that by that rally driver is fucking awesome. 150 mph in the rain!!!! Holy shit!!!!! I remember white knuckling it 80 mph in the rain in my Torino with bald bias ply tires but 150!!!!!!!
I suspect that scene from Casino Royale with the rope and Daniel Craig's plums may have been inspired from Rob's "we don't talk about Africa" incident.
Concerning the water pump failure: I was wondering if doing donuts in the SL55 was a good idea. That might have blown it. In the E63's of that era, having tight steering angles while going full throttle easily kills those if i'm not mistaken. See Tyler Hoovers green E63 for reference.
Yeah, I hate to be the killjoy but I’m not a big fan of that kind of stuff. I just see it as wasteful...unless it’s a certain small list of cars (Pontiac Aztek, PT Cruisers, other abominations that are unnatural and an affront to all lovers of transportation).
Hi Ed, a little special request if I may. In the early days of Gumball there was a character by the name of Mike or Micky or something. He was a big guy and drove an SL on a number of Gumballs. He was wild on the roads and seemed unique and a tonne of fun. Most interestingly, however, he was the man behind Megaupload -- please find him.
We need Rob on Vinwiki. And we need Rabbit’s dad too because only god knows how someone can have weirder and crazier stories than rabbit
Wild _Toilet unfortunately rob passed. they never mentioned it but he died in a Porsche 911 GT3RS. What an amazing guy, so sad to see him go 😔
Noah Hawn Damn. Didn’t know that. At least he passed in style with a cool ass car, race in peace Rob 😪
Wow didn't know that always wanted to see where is he and how is he doing.. sad thing is there and article about him?
Noah Hawn no he didn’t. Dustin literally said he got a message from him on the weekend. Go look at dustins raw video footage. Don’t spread mud.
@@noahhawn2837 thats not confirmed
Seeing videos of Rob driving was totally mind blowing for me growing up. Thanks for documenting it and sharing the story Dustin!
:)
I have been airborne in a 650S at a gps verified 185mph. Can't imagine what it would be like in a GT2 though. Sheesh.
A pleasure Ed. Always great content on VW. Enjoy…
Lonman, Kim Dotcom and Alex Roy were the top 3 drivers of the 2000’s era Gumball
I remember a great clip of the 2004 Gumball in Morocco, Kim chasing down Lonman, saying something like "this guy is nuts"
And the boys from GT3000, with the Gulf livery on a GT3
Those three were ‘Gumball’ back in that era. It’s a shadow of its former self now.
We need Ant & Pete also.
Fucking A
These r legends

[Opening with a 207 mph shot] - well that's one way to do it!
Man you couldn’t replicate this stuff again today, it was the best time for supercars and rallying!
I own the GT2 now, still going strong!
No way man!!! Keep driving it hard and hope either you keep it running or sell it to Dustin hehe
Lonman, what a legend! That man will have some car stories.
“It’s not a race it’s a rally!”
Mischief has the best stories... upload more of this and from Lonman... the guy was a pro!
Holy shit! At 8:35 a converted Venturi 400 Trophy is about the rarest thing I've ever seen someone record and not mention.
I wish we could get a interview from Lonman. He was such a massive part of Mischief Destroy and Invasion.
Yees !!
Seeing that footage is an awesome blast from the past, Rob was (and is) the real OG when it came to the rallies.
love when VinWiki has "wacky hair guy" on.
YES! I’ve been waiting for this story. I wanted to be him so bad when I was younger watching mischief.
Ed, GET Rob on VINWIKI!!

Full blown legend. I loved watching him in Mischief destroy and invasion.
My asking has been answered ..thanks vinwiki 🔥been waiting to hear about Rob for ages
When we were young we practically idolized Rob. I always wondered what happened to him.
3:50 mesquite thorns, they can puncture tractor tires. Good for cookin a steak, but not much else.
Man, I love these rally stories. It really gives me the drive to do better so I can play reindeer games.
Still love watching those old videos!
Lonman is a damn legend. I remember the IMV video from way back then

It’s on Alex Roy’s 144A channel
Alex was laughing how the F50 and the GT2 were pulling away at 150Mph
Great story. Those were epic rally years.
Yeet yote, Porsche is the goat
Man it's always been a dream of mine to go on a crazy rally/road trip with buddies, wish I'd been part of this back then 😭

that "m coupe" in love...
Those videos between the gt2 VS 330d in Morroco were epic!
Because of vinwiki i now would love to meet: ed, dustin, rob, and many others. Awesome people awesome stories!
Big fan maybe one day!
I rented these videos on cable back in day....doesn't seem like 20yrs ago...
Iv watched this whole driving video on his channel. It’s absolutely amazing to watch. He’s a great dude.
The amount of money it takes to have that level of fun is crazy
You really need to get Rob on here, and not just 1 episode. That guy has some crazy stories to tell.
Finally, LONMAN!

Sadly now on a black Volkswagen :|
