    100w with AC is the best version of Baseus so far, the downside is, not removable AC cord and it makes noticable noise like a half blown capacitor while charging and gets uncomfortably hot.

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn't notice the noise. As for the temperature it is pretty normal / standard among all 100W chargers. Yes it would be nice to see the replaceable cord in the next version.

      Is there anything that is as good but has the removable AC cord? This would be perfect for travelers.

      Mine doesn’t make any noise.. maybe you got a faulty one.

    How does this compare to the Baseus 100w charger with the same ports but that connects directly to the wall socket (without a cable)? Also some reports said when you plug in a new device, all the devices reconnect for a second so this would not be optimal for external monitors or other devices without their own battery, is this true?

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They are the same 100W charger. Also the reset (when new device is connected) is completely normal and all multiport chargers I've tested, including the Anker ones, have this behavior.

    • @jkirk1626
      @jkirk1626 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Connectng directly to the wall without a cord, would reduce the utility for traveling. In hotels and cruise ships, outlets are often in inconvenient, hard to reach places. Without an extension cord, you'd still be on your hands and knees trying to plug in your devices.

    Hey maybe a dumb question but if I have multiple USB cables plugged in to the charger, but am only charging one device (MacBook pro), will the MacBook charge at full speed? Or does there need to only be one cable in at a time. Thanks!

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's a great question! I just verified that only charging 1 device (MacBook Pro 14") I got 96W output, and by plugging in more USB cable (no device) will not affect the current output.

    if I buy this, no need to buy an extension cord with surge protector right? I can leave this always plugged in since the cord is 5 ft... is that right?

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct it is a power strip. But this is not a surge protector.

    Why was there an issue plugging into one of the ac ports? I own this product and have issues plugging into the ac ports as well and would like a solution.

    100w socket what kind of power can it give out? that is, if I turn on the kettle in it, will it pull it?

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The AC sockets can handle 1245W. The 100W rating is for the USB outputs combined.

      It depends on your setup. If you need a longer cable to reach the wall outlet, then you should use the power strip type.

      No. It will charge at full speed. The unused cable won't affect output at all.

      yes i have one at home and yes , this charger need to recalculate the delivery power every time you plug another device so it will cut the power / recalculate / get back the power
