Mrs. Wizard: May I suggest that you install a security alert bell that will ring in the work area of
the shop. Just put alarm button somewhere easy for you to get to when needed. Upon alarm a
Shop worker would come to front desk and confront the difficult person. May be a good thing
to consider for safety or security. Better safe than sorry. 😊

A question Mrs. Wizard; do you know anything about the picture of the ship on the wall of car Wizard's office? Looks like a destroyer or sub chaser in WWII dazzle camouflage. I am a boat geek and the picture caught my eye.

I can honestly say ive went far beyond any mechanic and fixed peoples vehicles for little to nothing, becuase i am a mechanic, im out of the business, but when friends and people find out i could fix cars, they took advantage of me, asked me to replace there brakes, radiator, waterpump, and more, but only wanted to pay me 20 or 50 dollars!! So yeah, i dont think any mechanic as done what ive done. They wouldn't dare to be that kind and considerate.

Oohhhh yes, working anything customer-facing results in some horror stories. In earlier jobs when I was young I had some downright weird requests, broke up actual fights, felt creeped out - you name it. It's sad in that it's really only a small percentage of people that are a problem, but they are enough of a statistical outlier that it sticks with you. Add the fame and popularity of your place to the mix and oy... I can only imagine how stressful it must be some days. Kudos to you for sticking with it, and if anything maybe these videos serve as a nice way to vent some of it. Sidenote - your partworks continue to be SO creative!

The "Help Desk" of most large institutions is composed of contractors employed by a 3rd party company hired to run the customer service phone support. These contractors may operate out of a leased call center located anywhere in the world, but usually out of an Eastern European country, India or The Philippines. These contractors reply from pre-written scripts, and can only handle routine issues. I would have dealt with the experience with the "old woman" from the bank help desk by asking to be transferred to another rep or just hanging up and trying your luck with another rep.

Many people are used to most car garages being run and operated by a bunch of alcoholics with no diagnostic ability who just know parts cannon, and sometimes can't even do parts cannon. To not only be a real car shop, but also have skilled trained mechanics that also have military experience, and a guy with Ferrari experience...you guys are top notch.

  • @TheJimbodean67

I know you guys want to probably stay open to the public, but unfortunately the catch 22 of fame is you get more high dollar exotic work, vs joe schmo stopping by to “chat” and hang out bringing a weird vibe with them. I recall the truck driver story in particular. I guess one way to satisfy the curious would be to post signs “appointment only” or have a little gift shop selling T-shirts and your creations for those über fans. I empathize with dealing with the public, especially the idiots that still think you can fix their car for 20 bucks. Kind of like buying a trailer, and suddenly you have friends you didn’t know you had wanting to borrow it and the truck to pull it🙄. I like what you’ve been putting together with the art work, it’s a step up from the old broken piston ashtray lol, and experimenting with resin opens up a lot of possibilities. Have a great day.

I remember after a lot of self work on an overheating Sequoia, I took it to a mechanic who said, "You don't have the money, and I don't have the desire." That's how it is.

When you started to get into your arts and crafts. You lost me! Mrs Wizard, whilst no Striking model! I can certainly understand your perfect backup to your husband! He's an extremely fortunate man! Your husband is a Nerd , God Bless Him, I'd have him work on my car anytime! But he's not in Australia. I'd prefer to pay above normal for a Nerd Plumber, a Nerd Electrician, a Nerd mowerman even! Pay once, cry once!😊

Hey Mrs. W Ways, we noticed that you have a penchant for saying " hidey holes" very frequently when performing your vehicle INTERIOR segment. Only problem is according to our two pre-teen kids who like to view "Car Wizard" videos is it definitely sounds like you're saying . . . . . . . "HINEY HOLE" - If possible, we would really appreciate a transition to "compartment" or "storage hole" to end this macabre type of confusion. 🚘🔍. 🚫 💩 🚫. 🤔 Many Thanks Yo !

It’s sad when people fall on bad times and get desperate enough to walk into companies just cuz they have no one to lean on. And many more fortunate people just think and say well why don’t they just go to a shelter or why don’t they just get a job? Unfortunately, shelters are usually full 90% of the time hours before you even ask for a bed and a lot of them can’t get jobs because in order to get a job you need to have a address where you live and some jobs won’t take the shelter address on an application.. another one is they may have a criminal record of minor possession or misdemeanor charges but even a misdemeanor charge can prevent you from getting a job. I know people have multiple felonies. The only reason why they got the job that they have is because a company decided to help out prisoners fresh from jail, who must have an employment or go back to jail but if it wasn’t for that program, they probably wouldn’t have had a job.
Unfortunately, it’s not a requirement from the court for you to be employed lot of companies won’t care to hire you just because you’re homeless

You can quickly assess mental illness from unfortunate circumstances by asking one question what do you want ? if the answer is a speech rather than say ( food baby food water personal items blankets ect . then don’t feed the wildlife.
Separate the distance between you and the stranger .
Instead tell the person to wait outside please . You will do what you can . Thanks

The owner is always the Man ,you should know that ,they are the Boss ,de Man of the establishment,so litle lady you just go and make the dinner and be a good girl 😜😜😜😜😜
But seriously people identify with the Wizard , probably because thats generally who they deal with ,being the owner etc ,its a thing when you dig deep into Founders Syndrome (its a thing)
Perception that a woman would onow anything about mechanical things ,no way lol but thats reality until they are corrected , some never change.
What you do with phone calls wanting to chat with the wizard or a tech ,is to ask for their credit card and you will charge time on that for their important Chat ,that normally sorts things out ,time is money and a tech charging me and then chatting to someone else,i wouldn't be happy
