Yes but they've done this many times before. Look how beautiful 'Falling Angel' is and it was barely made available as a B-side, just being on an extra CD on some limited copies of the '93 studio album, with 2 others. 'A Matter Of Fact' didn't even get that! Check out all the lovely 5 songs that didn't make "Paper Gods", not that they needed to, because the more decent non-album tracks DD do the better, as added together, enough can make a few more albums. 'Beautiful Colours' is too lovely and cool for a rather annoyingly safe and not so colourful album like "Astronaut".
Now, this is more like what Astronaut should have sounded like when it was released. Excellent uplifting track that shows the true qualities of the original five piece. Such a pity that it never officially made it on to the finished album. It would certainly have been all the better for it. My favourite song from the Astronaut recordings. A true masterpiece !!! Tanx for uploading. Kudos !!! 👌
The Astronaut sessions I've heard are better not understanding why they weren't included. They are great and a masterpiece and deserved to be included, it may even be that the song was missing more lyrics or some rhythmic part needs to be changed. But Lonely Business, Salt in the Rainbow, Pretty Ones, Virus, Beautiful Colors and Tv vs Radio deserved to be on Astronaut, hopefully on the next album if Reportage is placed.
No, "Astronaut" is all it is, that's what they decided on, for God's sake let's stop whining on about what the album's always 'lack' every time we find out something doesn't make an album, even if it wasn't made for one. Duran are one act that usually get their albums right, and "Astronaut" is put together through safety and an almost serene satisfaction that the original 5 were back together. But they were together when they made their (still what remains) their weakest ever original album-that bloody 3rd one from 1983. This isn't much of a step up from it, but it is one. "Reportage" is supposedly put together with many tracks made AFTER the "Astronaut" album, till Andy left and they then scrapped up as they didn't feel it was fresh enough. And they moved on to the far better and exciting "Red Carpet Massacre" which is actually one of their absolute best and highly underrated and unfairly and stupidly dissed album. They may finish "Reportage" one day, but I doubt it, and I don't care much either. If it was meant to be, it would be. but I'm sick of them mentioning themselves, especially when they've no intention of doing anything about it. How long does it take to tweak and polish one album and they've had decades to do so. Please, they tweaked that dumb 3rd album to an inch of its life and it still turned out the unsatisfying mess it is. Still, when you get your dodgiest move out the way 1st, the only way is up, as indeed it was with every subsequent original album since.
@kyachdistent1301 That's a fact. The band doesn't mention Reportage much in order to promote DM. But I also doubt that this album will see the light of day. Red Carpet Massacre has many incredible tracks but they were despised and criticized by critics. But I agree with you.
It's incomprehensible that this beautiful song wasn't released as a single or on the album Astronaut. A perfect Duran Duran Track.

OMG, this has to be the best song from them that not a lot of people know about! Incredible!
Ties with 'A Matter Of Fact' & 'Falling Angel'.
“ A Matter of Feeling”, “Serious “, “She’s Too Much” are also incredible and yet largely ignored.
Ty for such a beautiful track. x
Incrível Duran Duran! ❤❤❤❤❤
Simply WOW
Shum, outdid yourself here👍
☺️ Thank you so much
