  • Helping you close the distance for MMA or KICKBOXING striking. It's helped me close the range against so many opponents that were taller and had the reach advantage over me #mma #kickboxing #striking #tipsandtricks #betteryou

    I appreciate you! I used this in sparring today to set up my cross; worked perfectly 🙏

    Hell yea. John you were always one of my favorite's to watch and imitate. You're takedown defense always blew me away on top of your footwork and angle cutting. Would love to see you cover your gameplans in general especially cutting angles.

    If I were you, I would be uploading MMA technique instructionals. Your channel will BLOW up.
    Could you do a video on finding takedowns off opponents' strikes? 🤔

      @@johndodsonmma yeah man thanks for making these vids your a beast….
      I have a suggestion can you make a vid about what to do when you’re pushed up against a wall defending like Dan hooker was against Arnold Allen and how to get out of that situation because in sparring sometimes a guy with quick hands backs me against the wall and starts pummelling shots into me

    The problem i have is that they always front kick me i dunno what to do about it

    • @johndodsonmma
      @johndodsonmma  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Then fake a knee or front kick while moving forward and it will help you not get front kicked as much.

  • @michaelcohen91
    @michaelcohen91 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In the fight with Dillashaw that you mention, it looks like you move your lead foot forward first, with the jab, then shuffle the back foot up when you send the cross, which is how I was taught. Is this something different?

    • @johndodsonmma
      @johndodsonmma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope what I used on TJ was my other video with my shadow step. The spring step is how I move in quickly to attack like I did against Manny Gamburyan.

    But the move of closing to legs to each other could effect the balance for a while?

    • @johndodsonmma
      @johndodsonmma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes just like walking. You're off balance when you move your feet from one place to the other. Since we keep it in mind that we're doing so our balance should be in place just like while you are carefully walking around.
