    I've seen these on reborn supply sites and always wondered exactly how they worked. Thanks for showing us.

      The ball joints move pretty easily, similar to those mini tripods for cameras. I was a little nervous about damaging the vinyl with the armature, but with plenty of the poly fill it doesn't touch it so it's fine. My standing toddler has armature in her too. Thanks for coming to see Mary.

    It is fun to know how to take our dolls apart and fix them the way we like them. I do not like armatures, but I don't have a toddler anyway. Thank you Yvonne!

    Hello Yvonne, I hope you will see this comment! I recently got a reborn doll kit that has 3/4 arms and straight full legs, the body that your Hailey doll kit has in this video is exactly what I need to use for my doll kit as I also want to use an armature as the doll is going to be quite heavy and I am sure that the weight will affect the ability for the doll to stand up without an armature. So, please could you kindly let me know where you got the cloth body from? If you didn't buy it or if you aren't sure, no worries! I will keep looking for one but that one looks like it would be perfect for my doll project 😍
    Thanks 😊

    Cool! I didn't know there was such a thing as armatures for vinyl dolls. I also didn't know what armatures actually looked like, either. Thanked for showing us!

    • @havinguon7597
      @havinguon7597  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's different types of armatures, some are just wire, and look like bent coat hangers. They work very similar, used for smaller dolls. Glad you like to know about armatures.

      Thanks Suzanne, I was having some issues with dressing Tess, her large size and floppiness made it very difficult. Early on when I got her I wanted a way to pose her for photos, it was hard as her limbs would fall. Much easier now. They have smaller armatures, I wouldn't be surprised with the newer sculpts that some artist will use them. Great for photo shoots, takes less time for set ups.

  • @AlyceMalyce
    @AlyceMalyce 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've been thinking of getting some sort of armature for my Natalie Blick Nicole, she is 40 inches tall but I'm thinking just in her arms and legs since she's jointed. Any pointers? It would make it so much easier to cuddle and pose her with some sort of armature.

    • @havinguon7597
      @havinguon7597  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The armature has to be able to feed through the opening of the limbs. I don't know anything about jointed limbs as long as there is clearance to feed the armature through an opening all the way it will work.

    • @AlyceMalyce
      @AlyceMalyce 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@havinguon7597 awesome, now the problem is finding this miracle armature. I considered buying a second body for her and take out the joints, and sew it as a one piece body. But I worry about finding the armature.

    • @havinguon7597
      @havinguon7597  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't pop apart, I guess that's what you're getting at. Do want to make sure that the armature is long enough that it stays in place in the limbs and not creep back. I hope that helps.

    • @jademorgan304
      @jademorgan304 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      HAVINGUON Thank you! That’s exactly what I was wondering. Sorry I have a lot of trouble wording things

  • @margaretkay4076

    What do you do if you accidentally pull a piece of the armature off? How do you reattach it?

    • @havinguon7597
      @havinguon7597  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heat up the armature joints in order to pop them back together. The plastic is very stiff when cold but when heated it's softer. Can hold end joints over open flame (not too close) of the stove to heat them or use a heat gun maybe a hair dryer although I never tried with a hair dryer.
