Thank you very much for making and dedicating this video to Boro Đorđević. If you can, play soon some of the biggest hits of Riblja Čorba: Ostaću slobodan, Dobro jutro (Good morning), Kada padne noć,
Thank you for this. We had, and still have, TWO Bob Dylan's: Djordje Balašević and Bora Djordjević. They are together again now, watching us from heaven. Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸, and god bless you.❤
Почивај у миру Боро Ђорђевићу, легендо. Хвала ти на свему. Počivaj u miru Boro Đorđeviću, legendo. Hvala ti na svemu. Rest in peace Bora Đorđević, legend. Thank you for everything.
Thank you very much for reaction. ❤ Me too, it's first time to hear that song, I didn't know he wrote about his illness, way of dying and about where he wanted to be buried and in what way. It's an interesting verse when he says "don't waste money on me, for my monument cross just two guitars..." 🌹
One of the legendary songs of Bora Đorđević is "Ljubav Ovde Vise ne Stanuje", which I definitely recommend, and you should also listen "Kad hodas", "Necu da ispadnem zivotinja", "Al Kapone", "Jedino moje", "Poslednja pesma o tebi", "Gde si u ovom glupom hotelu", "Volim volim volim volim zene", "Zelena Trava doma mog", "Kada padne noc", "Amin", "Zbogom Srbijo", "Poslednja"... You could maybe make a long video where you will react to all those songs. Legendary singer and poet deserve it. His influence and legacy are huge!
Its messed up that in this song he sings about dying in the hospital in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and that his days are numbered. And 3 years later he dies in the hospital in Ljubljana 😢 rest in peace legend. Cheers to you Rob. Keep'em coming 🤘
He had the same disease for years. They treated him in Ljubljana for years, but they couldn't cure him. The song was written during the sessions for the album Da Tebe Nije but was left out for the planned "dark album" now known as Ljubav I Smrt which will be released on Bora's birthday in November
I have had the pleasure of meeting him and talking to him for just a few minutes but he seemed like a really nice guy. Nice enough to give a few minutes of his valuable time for a hug, a picture and a chat with a random passerby who sprinted for two kilometers to meet him. May he rest in peace.
The lyrics "It will be that I changed Bostan" actually translate to "It seems that I have picked the watermelon" which would mean "I'm in serious trouble", like it ain't a laughing matter anymore.
To add on this, just for the context and I am sure this gentleman would appreciate it, next line when he mentions blue train, the old ruler of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito had his personal blue train. Coincidentally, Tito also died in Slovenia and later his body was transferred to Belgrade for the funeral.
Once again, many thanks to you Rob for dedicating the video to our deceased Bora. The man was everything that we ourselves are, but he managed to put it all on paper and turn many poems into pop songs. Hundreds of poems are still trapped in the his books and notebooks, papers on which he wrote and recorded social moments...all of them are waiting for some new composers and arrangers to turn them into musical tracks! Oh yes, he was our Bob Dylan, if not bigger than him, as a producer from London John McCoy who worked with big music names and groups but also with Riblja Čorba said once. If that Riblja Čorba arranged songs in English and recording, RČ will bee one of the biggest groups in the World! Which they generally are, since the Serbian language is understood among tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of inhabitants of this planet!
Yes, we may say that is not only former Yougoslav Bob Dylan, maybe European. He went on the 'other world' with joke, this song. Obviously, farewell song. The translation 'monument' might be 'thumbstone', without any problem. Addition: he had a bit of Charles Bukowski, also.
One of the first if not the first rock album Ive ever heard was by Chorba, "Prica o ljubavi obicno ugnjavi" from 1988. "A love story is usually a bore". Any song on that album is pure rock and roll. If you would react to any tune from that badass album, it would be great. Cheers
Thank you man for this reaction video!!!! He was great artist. His songs have told stories and some of them were written 40 years ago, but still are current, They still sound fresh in this moment as 40 years ago. Yes, one might say that Bora Đorđević is Serbian Bob Dylan.
Rob thenks for shoing and injoing. BORA left as on september 4 But his songs stey forever. I was commenting before Bora was best without thought, songwriter in former Yugoslabia , and rest of Balkan, and i am shure hi is in the top of the world with his political, social, lirics and for shure his live song are music hodtory Rest in peas, and haw we Serbian say VECNA TI SLAVA
Bora Corba was always against political estblishment. His songs and lirics depict every decades of our lives in our turbulent country. In his own right he was a rebel and instigator to young generations to fight the government, to rebel even when there is no reson to fight. To never except things as they are and to fight for their future. That was His way of showing a finger to government.
Bora was a singer, songwriter, also a poet nicknamed “The poet of poets”. He was the author of all Riblja Corba lyrics and also of so many other musicians regardless of genre. Bora means so much to us over here. He was a rebel whose lyrics connected to so many of us. I would really love for you to react to more Corba songs and understand them better, so don’t use google translate but search for ex.kad padne noc lyrics in english. Usually there is a good translation, at least a better one than the google translate. 😂 Pogledaj from svoj anđele is a masterpiece, in my humble opinion goes side by side with Black Sabbath’s “War pigs” with the lyrics. Thank you for your reactions, I love them. Take care Sir, love from Serbia!
My first to come across this artist but I heard a lot about former Yuogoslavian having sime very string rock bands ,and I really can see that ..Very solid preformance and good music though I can't understand the lyrics but they seem so 'at home 'and relaxed while playing and that 's indicates pure talent ...
Hey bro, have you heard ex YU punk rock band from Croatia, called KUD Idijoti? I sugest you to listen their cover of old Italian communist song O'Bella Ciao, great song indeed. Cheers from Serbia 🍺
To nikada nije poricao! Pre osude, pogotovo tako velikog umetnika, potraži informacije! Boro, vole te tvoji Čačani!
Bora Corba je bio legenda. Veliki umetnik i covek. Hvala vam sto ste mu posvetili malo paznje.
Hvala i svako dobro.
I mean, these lyrics... that is how legends leave this world!

Play the song "Ravnodusan prema placu" and then you will see for yourself what a musical and poetic genius Bora Djordjević was.

Just a quick fact that he's singing during that concert with stage 3 COPD. He was diagnosed one year earlier
