Years ago I studied this and I remember doing a search on all the references in the Old Testament for the phrase "sons of God". As I recall there were half a dozen or so. The most famous one perhaps is in the book of Job. God called an angel meeting and the sons of God showed up, including Satan and God asked him what he had been up to. These sons of God were spiritual beings, not humans. As I recall, the other references to 'sons of God" also seemed to refer to angels and not humans. I think the 'sons of God' in Genesis 6 were spiritual beings, not humans.

Job 1:6 refers to Job 1:4-5. Son's of God refers to creation who is right with God at the time. No where does the Son's of God refer to anything acting contrary to the will of God.

I always imagined that the nephilim weren’t actually “giants” like how we think of giants today. Basically the truth is this. The sons of God were from the line of Set and the daughters of men were from Cain. The reason there is a genealogy for both lines in the previous chapters is to show this point. Why would holy angels, notice holy, come down to earth and pervert mankind? So my thinking is that the Nephilim were the fallen angels, literally translated, and they’re offspring were the rephaim, which translates to giant ones. Of course, I’d have to take a look at the original text to see if the two terms were used interchangeably or not, just my thought. Hmm. I think you're misreading it. This passage is talking about three separate groups of beings: 1. The Nephilim-fallen angels, including Lucifer, who were cast from heaven. 2. The Sons of God-those Angels, led by Michael, who defeated Lucifer and his followers, and cast them from heaven. 3. The offspring of Angels and human women-heroes and warriors of great renown. The way this passage reads, the Nephilim (fallen angels) were on Earth before the Sons of God (Angels) arrived. The battle in heaven took place sometime during creation, and the Nephilim were forced to earth, along with Lucifer, who took on the form of a great serpent in the Garden of Eden. As you point out, the term Nephilim is sometimes translated as giant, which suggests the other fallen ones followed Lucifer's example and took on a variety of monstrous forms after being banished to earth. Perhaps the Sons of God were permitted to come to earth and mingle with human kind, because like all of God's creatures, they too had free will, and also because their powerful offspring were needed to contend against the destructive nature of the Nephilim. Who then are the sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6:2,4? Luke picks up this genealogy from where Matthew stops and works backwards. He does not stop at Abraham where Matthew began but continues until, Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, WHICH WAS THE SON OF GOD (Luke 3:37-38). If we apply the word ‘begat’ to the genealogy in Luke, this is how it would read: God begat Adam; and Adam begat Seth; and Seth begat Enos; and Enos begat Cainan; and Cainan begat Maleleel; and Maleleel begat Jared; and Jared begat Enoch; and Enoch begat Mathusala… This clearly brings out the fact that Adam and his descendants were the sons of God mentioned in Genesis chapter six. It is the genealogy of the sons of God: begins with God and ends with God (Jesus). Note that the Scripture does not call Adam a son of God but THE son of God. There are only two people in the Bible designated THE son of God: Adam and Jesus. This is because neither of them had a human father or a human mother (Mary was no blood relation of Jesus, else He would have had a sinful nature). God Himself was their parent. Also contrary to the general perception, Jesus was not the first Son of God. The first and the original son of God was Adam. Jesus is called the Last Adam (last does not come before first). True, Jesus existed before Adam, but not as Son of God, rather as God Himself. 6. What then was the origin of the giants? Many people debate what the mark of Cain was, but it ought to be straightforward. God turned Cain into a giant so that no person of ordinary build would dare to confront him. This is precisely what Hebrews 1:5 teaches against, "For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?". If angels were children (sons) of God, then they would have to be heirs with Christ, Romans 8:17, "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ". But no, "For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak." (Hebrews 2:5). Angels are servants of the redeemed according to Hebrews 1:14
I have produced Scriptures which say angels are not sons. No one has produced Scripture which says they are. It is based on assumption that Gen 6:4 is talking about angels. So I rest my case.

What do you do with Job that clearly says that angels are sons of God. Yes, all of the angels were good at one time until Lucifer and a third of them fell from heaven. I think where you confusion come in is when you relate fallen angles to demons. They are both evil, but they are different in origin and design. Many scholars don't see the difference and that can be problematic. It seems that you are more interested in winning an argument than learning the truth.

Even using Numbers 14:6-9 Caleb and Joshua were among those that spied on the land. They gave a good report saying the land flowed with milk and honey. Caleb and Joshua said NOTHING about Giants (Nephilim). God spared Caleb and Joshua, they were not struck down by a plaque. The spies that told an evil report were telling a lie and did not want to go into the land. Most people do not realize or take notice to Numbers 14. Interesting when most people use Numbers 13: 33 for this angel view for the Giants (Nephilim) and looked like grasshoppers are falling into the faults of the report the spies told. The report the spies told is misleading. Most people do not take notice to the rest of the scripture. Think of the story the spies told as a "Fish Story", just a overly exaggerated story with no truth. How the spies used the word giant in verse 33 would be bullies or tyrants, but the bad report or to say the lie they told about these Giants (Nephilim) NEVER existed. Caleb and Joshua never gave a report like that, and Caleb and Joshua were with the spies. Numbers 13:32 states, "And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched..." The word evil in no way indicates that the spies were giving an inaccurate account of their findings, rather a very accurate account of what they had witnessed. I have done my own Giants study. Using the Bible alone, I have discovered that there are 4 categories for the term giant. I have also made other discoveries, such as a second group of fallen angels and that Goliath was not a true giant. Very interesting study. I have also looked to the Dead Sea Scrolls, Josephus, the Septuagint and even a bit of the Book of Enoch, but have used the Bible as my main source.

I used to follow this line of thinking myself, until I researched scripture more thoroughly.In the Old Testament no one is called a son of God unless it is a direct creation of God, therefore, Adam and the angels. Notice in Job where the sons of God came with Satan into the presence of God. These were angels. Humans are not referred to as “sons of God“ until after the resurrection when we can be born again. Therefore, the sons of God in Genesis had to be angelic beings. But praise the Lord it is not these specifics that saves us, and may we all continue to thoroughly search the Scriptures. God bless.
Genesis 6:2 "that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives, whomsoever they chose". Do you feel that angels need wives?. So that verse logically not relates with Angels, who are actually spirits, and they don't need any wives. In the next verse Genesis 6:3 "And the LORD said: ‘My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for that he also is flesh; therefore shall his days be a hundred and twenty years". If Spirit like angels sinned with fleshly wives, who are actually females, then why GOD have to get angry with all men? So, logically that chapter not speaks about Angels. Hebrews 1:5 For to which of the angels did he ever say, “You are my son, today I have begotten you,” If Angels are sons, then they need salvation like us. But, the scripture says... Hebrews 1:14 "Are they not all spirits engaged in special service, sent on assignment for the sake of those who are going to inherit salvation?" If angels can have wives, why not all the demon possessed unmarried woman of today not giving birth to giant ones? Sons of GOD are men, because adam was created in the image of GOD, but not Angels.
The only reason an individual is a son of God is because of faith in a sacrifice for sin, that is why person is born again. The sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross a person is born again and the Holy Spirit indwell the believer. In the OT to be a son of God is basically the same. The sons of God presented burnt offerings to God in faith.Burnt offerings unto God with a sacrifice for sin on the Alter. The person presenting the sacrifice was the head of the household. Some like Job would be as son of God or also called a patriarch. Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.” AND Job Verse 2:1 “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. TWO different events, Prologue and sons of God presenting themselves. Link these TWO verses together to understand the sons of God., Job 1:5 is a presentation to God with burnt offerings. Job 1:6 the sons of God presented themselves. Genesis 5 lists the sons of God. That same genealogy line is in Luke 3 listing the sons of God. In Genesis 6 when it mentions sons of God, the Author is just summarizing Genesis 5 into a title called sons of God. Burnt offerings were presented in the time period of Genesis 5. The first recorded burnt offering is found in Genesis 4 when Abel presented his offering to God. God rejected Cains offering, but accepted Abel's. When Cain murdered Abel, Seth stepped in the place of Abel in presenting these burnt offerings. Angels can not be called sons of God, because, angels have no need for a sacrifice for sin, like a burnt offering on the Alter or Jesus sacrifice on the Cross. The burnt offerings are a foreshadowing of the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross. God does not require burnt offerings anymore. The sacrifice for sin that matters is what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Both sacrifices (Alter and Cross) are by Faith that a person is made righteous before God. Both sacrifices had blood shed to atone for sin. The angel view came from Josephus in the 1st century With Josephus's angel view has errors. Here is just some 1) The angel view redefines marriage saying that angels can take wives (Genesis 6) 2) Goes against God's order for creation because each kind produces after it's own kind (Genesis 1) 3) Angels are always referred to as messengers in scripture, not sons. 4) Angels are not biological creations and do not have a blood line. Genesis 5 and Luke 3 are blood lines in the Bible. If you notice Genesis 5 is listed in Luke 3. Genesis 5 is the sons of God that Genesis 9 is referring to. 5) It is a very OLD view influenced by mythology Compare Josephus's angel view to Mythology God had the OT written in Hebrew, but the NT was written in Greek. For this to happen the Greek language had to become popular, how that happened is with the Greek Empire (332-146 BC) influenced the Jews (Hebrews). When the NT was written, it was written in Greek. Since the Greek empire influenced the Jews, so the Greeks language impacted how the NT was written. What also happened is Greek mythology crept in as well. The Greeks believed that Zeus one of their pagan gods came down to earth and impregnated Alcmene a mortal human women and she gave birth to Hercules, sounds like Genesis 6.Angels taking wives and producing half human and half angel demi-gods. Even way back to Christ pagan and mythological beliefs existed. The Jews always were effected with pagan beliefs and practices. When Josephus in the first Century is the person who is credited for the angel view, when it came to Genesis 6, a person can tell what his thinking was with who the sons of God are. Josephus was in ERROR and his thinking triggered a domino effect. No such thing as angels producing offspring with humans, it comes from Greek mythology. The 'Satan' in Job is just a regular man that is acting as an 'adversary' to Job. This person is NOT a supernatural angel or being. Nowhere in Job does it say that this person 'Satan' is going back and froth between heaven and Earth. People misread it and think that. What it really says is, "And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going *to and fro IN the earth, and from walking up and down IN it* . Another thing is most people assume that the 'serpent' in Genesis is also 'Satan' a supernatural angel ... but it is not. Think about it. What is the punishment to the serpent in genesis ? Crawl on its belly for the rest of its days (implying it will also die) . Angels can not die so it can't be an angel. Then also the 'Satan' in job is not the serpent from genesis as he is seen walking around. Can't walk around if you have no legs and can't walk around if you are dead. All of this stuff about Satan and fallen angels and nephilim hybrids is complete garbage. There are no fallen angels, not even one. Not even this 'Satan' character. Although it wouldn't be wrong to say that these characters were 'satans' aka 'adversaries' and anyone/anything can be an adversary. It doesn't have to be a supernatural being. God bless.
I have heard many theories saying that Goliath was a descendant of the Nephilim giants. Goliath was about 9 feet tall. And the sons of God are not from the line of shem. It is clearly stated in Job too in the beginning of Job.

Nephilim comes from Albanian Ne fillim, which means in the beginning. Ne= in and fillim=beginning. It is amazing that linguists don't study Albanian. It translates a lot of the words in the Bible including Bereshit, the original name of the Genesis. Beresit in modern Albanian means the making, the creating, which makes total sense in the context of the Genesis.

There other ancient names and words that are translated in modern Albanian and haven't even changed throughout the millennia. For example Aphrodite in Albanian she is called Aferdita. Afer in Albanian means Near, and Dita means Day. You can check any dictionary, its the same. Basically means Morning Star, the other name for planet Venus which is what Romans called Aphrodite. You won't find this in Wikipedia or your textbooks for some strange reason.

It may be way out their, but I think it’s possible that the nephilim are what caused the descriptions of great Greek gods. Giant gods have been told in stories all over the world. Truely being worshiped real or not. What if these “giant gods” we’re actually nephilim using their power and look to convince people to view them as god. In the last two years, God has allowed me to see angels and other beings who are nearly 100 feet tall. One was standing on a stage behind a gospel singer. I looked around and apparently nobody else could see him. The other one was trapped under heavy stone boulders. So, apparently, God creates Adam, and later Eve, and they have 2 sons, called Cain and Abel. At this moment, there are only 4 humans on this planet, according to the bible. Cain kills Abel, which then leaves only 3 humans on the planet. Cain wanders off to some other place, and somehow manages to find a female. Where did that female come from?
You just said the story of the Adamites, occurred 6000 years ago. Adamites were privileged and more cultured earthlings made by the Elohim purposely to guard and work the "ganeden" (fenced garden located in Eden). They were pure, with genetic inheritance coming straight from the Elohim. Adamites weren't suppose to procreate offsprings, they could have been made whenever required by Elohim, under control. By the way, the long lasting life expectance of first patriarchs was heritage of this situation. So, Adamites enjoyed their time inside the ganeden, until a day, when another Elohim co-operating in the ganeden showed them what's inside the rabbit hole, giving them too much information and awareness. Calculated indiscretion, unaware of the consequences. The Adamites has been gently compelled to leave the ganeden with no chance to come back and that's when occurred that Cain, Abel and, later, Seth came to light. And the rest is known....Cain killed Abel and he has been gently compelled to leave the huge territory of Eden and wander around. But the territories outside Eden, and implicitly the rest of the world, were already populated by Sapiens, who used to live freely and, contrary to the Adamites, the Sapiens always been encouraged to procreate offsprings. Sapiens' age began long way earlier than Adamites, further to south. These humans weren't as much cultured as Adamites, who had the fortune to live shoulder to shoulder with the Elohim in the ganeden, and their genetic inheritance wasn't pure as the Adamites ones. However, Cain found a woman and fathered his offsprings. Then the great flood occurred, that can't be a worldwide event, to be clear, because the land-water system in this planet hasn't the quantity of water enough to cover all the lands. Therefore the biblic great flood had to be local, somewhere around today's Turkey and Armenia. If someone of Cain progeny made it to leave in time, then probably survived the great flood. While most people believe that God created only two humans, the Bible does not specifically state that. God might have gone on creating humans for a century.

It is stunning that you can make a rational translation based on the meaning for the word "Nephilim" in Albanian language: "Ne" = "In" + "philim" = "beginning" ....... "Nephilim" = "Ne fillim" (Alb.) = "In beginning" (Engl.). It's not the only word that has meaning in Albanian. Bereshit for example, the Genesis is "beresit" in modern Albanian which means the making, the creating. It's incredible linguists do not touch on this subject.

Actually the nephilim are giants in the Bible they talk a couple of scriptures of them but in the book of Enoch which was taken out the bible there talked about alot of times from start to finish.

This one time I woke up around 3 am morning. I woke up and opened my eyes slowly. Standing 8 feet away from me something was floating in the air. It was around 6 feet tall and had carving on its head. Looked like a alien with a large head and black eyes. It was floating up and down. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The Bible says God made man in His image. People don't really "get it," like it has no meaning. It means 1. God did not make the angels in His image. 2. That we would have power and rule over the angelic realm. Being the case, this upsets the chain of command with regard to Lucifer. When the fallen angels mated with human women, it was an attempt to genetically "scrub" the image of God that man was made with. 3. With that said, the Bible mentions that ALL FLESH had become corrupt, not just the flesh of man. 4. All those creatures you thought were mythological, were not. The animals that went into the Ark was the last vestage of creatures that were not genetically corrupted. The T - Rex was a genetically engineered weapon of war meant kill the peaceful dinosaurs that God made along with man, himself. I think I will save my comments on this. The problem is we have a lot of teachers all teacher ng differed things. Belief in Jesus and his work suffering on the cross is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL. I say that if you make Jesus your focus and continue reading you'll have a revelation. Instead of slamming things down people's throats ( no offense to anyone) let's all love our neighbors and follow his commandments. If the Lord wants us to know something he WILL reveal it to us. The devil works in strange ways to divide us. I disagree with your interpretation of the 'bad report" the ten spies gave. Giving a bad report does not mean the information is incorrect. Big problem with "Sons of God" equaling "Sons of Seth"... EVERYONE was and is a decedent of Adam. That's why we are ALL born in sin. Genetically speaking, there was nothing special about the Sons of Seth's lineage.

In Numbers, it describes the scouts sent to spy on the land of the Canaanites as witnessing the sons of Anak, the Nephilim, as "being like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them"...The book of Enoch describes the Anak or Nephilim as being giants among men, the men of old, the warriors that destroyed all that lay before them and even resorted to devouring their enemies. I'm of the opinion that none of that is conjecture. I see the carvings on the Sumerian archeological finds and the Egyptian temples that depict a race of men that clearly have wings attached, and some have the appearance of a man with a heavy beard and adorned with fine clothing...and then some depict the same human form with heads of birds, lions, bulls, and other creatures. Noah was told the reasons why God would bring forth a global deluge, a flood to destroy all wickedness on earth. Man had become so depraved and violent that the Scriptures say if the deluge had not taken place, no flesh would be saved. I believe part of that is also to rid the earth of these hybrid beings that according to the Scriptures, had brought forth an unholy union of the Sons of God and the daughters of men.

They want back into bodies to enjoy their flesh. They are wicked. To ignore that, is to ignore a large point as to the strategic plan of God to put down the fallen third seed, he did not make. Actually, prior to any offspring there were giants on the earth already. Please reread that verse. Those who believe there was an intermixing of species (angels or aliens and humans) do not realize that the giants were already in existence. It is in the same verse.

The whole human race is called Adam, son of Adam is translated son of man, Adam meaning mankind or the whole human race. Look it up. Calling beings sons of God is saying they are not humans, from the seed of Adam, made from Adamah.

Job 1:6-plainly states the "sons of God came to present themselves before God, and Satan came with them. I think it's self explanatory. The "sons of God," have to be angels in this context. Job is the oldest book of the Bible...written before Genesis...and the author is still debated. If the "sons of God," in this text were indeed human...why wouldn't Job be recorded as presenting himself before God. Humans could not present themselves before God. Moses could not even look upon God. Exodus 33:19-23. Furthermore in Deuteronomy 34:10-No prophet had ever been like Moses who knew God face to face. The "sons of God," had to be angels and the Nephilim are exactly what the Bible teaches. Offspring from angels sleeping with humans. Some human femurs have been found over 72 inches in length! A femur that size places this person at around 14 feet height!

Not just the book of Enoch says the sons of God are angels. Josephus says they're angels, as well as the Bible itself. The angels that mated with human women were a second group of fallen angels. 2 Peter, Genesis and Jude talk of them, and Job confirms "sons of God" is talking about angels.
The Nephelim are aliens, think of how people would describe aliens they would write about them exactly like this. Now we have just interpreted these writings as “myths” or tales but this actually could have happened with real aliens coming down and it would make perfect sense.
No they are not aliens. The Nephilim are the descendants of the Fallen Angel's and the human women. Read the Book of Enoch. He explains everything. They are the reason for Noah's Flood. Father God was protecting the lineage of Jesus so it would not be tainted by the DNA of the 'Watchers'. The giants were not 'picky'. They 'mated' with any women, no preference as to who's daughters they were. They were all over the world, not just on one continent.

There is a significance generally overlooked in the debate about whether "sons of God" were fallen, angels. The one menace that permeates the Old Testament and which is equally evident in the New Testament epistles is the intermarriage between those that worshiped God and the corrupt godless human society. If the implication in Genesis 6 is that of intermarrying of the descendants of Seth and the descendants of Cain (and I think not only does the two genealogies strengthen the case for Godly and ungodly intermarriage, but the mention of Tubal-Cain’s sister, Naamah. Naamah means fair/ pleasant/ or beautiful. This may then well be some hint as to where the author hints at, the beauty for which the wicked Lamech's offspring was associated. This is the final direct reference to Cain's offspring). The first case was of Abraham sending his trusted servant, whom many take to be Eliezer from Damascus (Gen.15), to swear on oath that he will go to Haran to get Isaac a wife there from his own relatives. The thought of any alternative was not an option for Abraham. Then, secondly, we read of both Rebecca and Isaac's grief of Esau's taking for himself wives from the inhabitants of Canaan. Except the Bible makes it clear that "sons of God" is talking about angels, and the Bible talks about a second group of fallen angels. The second group is mentioned in Genesis, 2 Peter and Jude. And if that isn't enough to convince, the book of Job shows "sons of God" are angels.

But I will answer these questions. Looking at the term used in Genesis 6:2,4 the words used are "sons of god" not son of God. Now let us look at this. Before the New Testament was written, the term "sons of God" was only used 5 times. Twice in Genesis, three times in Job. In those times there was no Christianity, no Catholics, ect. Only believers/followers of God and gentiles. With Genesis, it says that the sons of God saw the daughters of men and took wives and that they went into them and giants were born. No question there. In Job, "the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them." Obviously it is not talking about human beings. It is talking about angels. And it says the same thing again in Job 2:1. Then finally in Job 38, God asks Job if he was around when God created all things and if he was around "When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?" Again, sons of God clearly means angels and not humanity. And to answer why God wasn't upset with the second group of angels, that answer is clear as well. He WAS upset with them and punished them severely. Jude 6 states "And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;" The answer to your question is right in front of your face. The key word to look at is "reserved". Reserve means to hold. God has held and is continuing to hold them in chains. How do I know this? Because of the other key word, "has". The word has is a past tense, meaning it has already happened and/or is still happening. The Bible verse does not state that "He WILL reserve" which would be talking about the future and future happenings. Another verse to show God was indeed upset with them is 2 Peter 2:4-6 Verse 4 states "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;" Here are the key words from that verse: did not, delivered, reserved. Those words show that the past is being talked about, not the future. It already happened, not will happen. Further evidence of that is in the following two verses... "and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;" Again, key words: did not, condemned. God did not spare the ancient world, God condemned Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction and ashes. It is clearly talking about what happened in the past, not happening in the future. And when you put the three verses together, it makes it even more obvious that the past is being talked about, not the future. Please read 2 Peter 2:4 Jude 1:6-7 and Jude 1:14-15 and Hebrews 11:5-6 The Bible quotes Enoch and speaks of the angels that sinned in Peter being sent to Hell (tartaroō), which are not the sons of Seth. The sons of god is also quoted in Job 1:6 as angels. Jude refers the angels not keeping their proper domain and giving themselves to sexual immorality and strange flesh. Go read it yourself please.
Jude does not say what you are saying. Do not just read those 2 verses 6,7. Read the context. Jude is mentioning several classes or groups of people and their death or outcome. The angels left their heavenly places when they went against God, not because they were doing any sexual fornication. Angels cannot procreate as said by Jesus. The angels left their habitation prior to the making of man because they rebelled against God and His Son in heaven.

Jip and copout. Everywhere inside of Scripture and extra-biblical literature sons of god are always without exception angelic beings. Also the context of Enoch which is brought into the New Testament and even quoted by Jude, is calling them "angels that sinned". Also Nephilim does mean giants, you should know that if you teach Hebrew, there is another word that is very similar to nephilim is often mistaken for fallen ones. These giants are unmistakenly throughout the Hebrew Bible where Yahweh put a ban on them, to wipe them out, just as their parents did to mankind where they ascended on Mount Hermon from the same word meaning to put a ban on. I feel that since this was left out, Zondervan either doesn't know this, or doesn't want to teach it, either way, not a good reliable source for me.

God rejected Cains offering, but accepted Abel's. When Cain murdered Abel, Seth stepped in the place of Abel in presenting these burnt offerings. Angels can not be called sons of God, because, angels have no need for a sacrifice for sin, like a burnt offering on the Alter or Jesus sacrifice on the Cross. The burnt offerings are a foreshadowing of the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross. God does not require burnt offerings anymore as prophesied. The sacrifice for sin that matters is what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Both sacrifices (Alter and Cross) are by Faith that a person is made righteous before God. Both sacrifices had blood shed to atone for sin.

Years ago I studied this and I remember doing a search on all the references in the Old Testament for the phrase "sons of God". As I recall there were half a dozen or so.
The most famous one perhaps is in the book of Job. God called an angel meeting and the sons of God showed up, including Satan and God asked him what he had been up to.
These sons of God were spiritual beings, not humans. As I recall, the other references to 'sons of God" also seemed to refer to angels and not humans. I think the 'sons of God' in Genesis 6 were spiritual beings, not humans.

Job 1:6 refers to Job 1:4-5. Son's of God refers to creation who is right with God at the time. No where does the Son's of God refer to anything acting contrary to the will of God.

So my thinking is that the Nephilim were the fallen angels, literally translated, and they’re offspring were the rephaim, which translates to giant ones. Of course, I’d have to take a look at the original text to see if the two terms were used interchangeably or not, just my thought. 1. The Nephilim-fallen angels, including Lucifer, who were cast from heaven.
2. The Sons of God-those Angels, led by Michael, who defeated Lucifer and his followers, and cast them from heaven.
3. The offspring of Angels and human women-heroes and warriors of great renown.
The way this passage reads, the Nephilim (fallen angels) were on Earth before the Sons of God (Angels) arrived.
The battle in heaven took place sometime during creation, and the Nephilim were forced to earth, along with Lucifer, who took on the form of a great serpent in the Garden of Eden. As you point out, the term Nephilim is sometimes translated as giant, which suggests the other fallen ones followed Lucifer's example and took on a variety of monstrous forms after being banished to earth.
Perhaps the Sons of God were permitted to come to earth and mingle with human kind, because like all of God's creatures, they too had free will, and also because their powerful offspring were needed to contend against the destructive nature of the Nephilim.

My personal believe is that when satan was cast out...not totally bc of Job...why would God allow satan to wreak havoc in Job's life? Remember satan said he was going to and fro to see who he could mess with. I think he (satan) when cast out then that was when God started creation. I never liked conspiracy theories. The bad report was a lack of faith on the part of the ten spies not speculation of an intentional distortion of facts, nor did the writer, Moses, intentionally distort the facts he received from the Holy Spirit. I disagree with this theory, properly so called.
The only thing we know for sure is that the Nephilim were giants, men of great size, and the Anakim were part of them. Everyone is a fallen one as you well know. Also, Genesis 6:4 seems to be parenthetical.

When speculation runs its course, the truth is distorted. All we really know is that the Nephilim were men of great size. Genesis 6:4 is clarified by Numbers 13:32,33. The unclear is brought to light by the clear. It is also interesting to note that Caleb and Joshua did not disagree with the other ten spies' assessment, so it must have been true after all.

The belief that aliens, known as the ‘sons of God’, came down to the earth and had babies with women is at best a fantasy. It is based on a catastrophic misunderstanding of Genesis 6:4. May I point out the following:
1. Fallen angels are known as devils and demons. To call a demon a son of God is to put him at par with Jesus Christ the true Son of God. This is outright blasphemy.
2. Righteous angels are not sons of God either: For unto which of the angels said he AT ANY TIME, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Hebrew 1:5). If righteous angels have never at any time been referred to as ‘sons of God’, how much less devils?
3. Contrary to the popular belief, it is not the union between the sons of God and the daughters of men that introduced the giants into the world. When the sons of God took the daughters of men to wife, the Bible clearly states, There were giants in the earth in those days (already) (Genesis 6:4).
4. Fallen angels still exist, and women are still there. Then why are they not having giants anymore? Besides, fallen angels do still come into embodiment through demon possession (Jesus cast demons out of people). Demon possessed people such as witches sire normal sized human beings, not giants.
5. Who then are the sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6:2,4? 7. The post flood giants such as Goliath, Anak and the king Og had human fathers as clearly shown in scripture. They were not the sons of aliens. For example, Goliath was a Philistine. The Philistines were descended from Casluhim, the grandson of Ham (I Chronicles 1:12)

I have produced Scriptures which say angels are not sons. No one has produced Scripture which says they are. It is based on assumption that Gen 6:4 is talking about angels. So I rest my case.

Human Genetics/DNA have been breaking down ever since Adam. Adam was directly created by God from the earth. Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Adam’s genetic structure would have been far superior to man kind of today. That could also explain larger bone fragments, skulls and size of a skeleton that are found.
Interesting that Adam all the way to Noah lived long life spans. Living that long of a life span could have given the people of that day (before the flood) a larger physical body. Adam lived 930 years (Gen 5: 5). Noah lived 950 years (Gen 9: 29).
Another point is after the flood, the flood changed the earth. More solar radiation could have effected people as well. Giant life spans existed after the flood, Noah and his sons were alive after the flood. but life spans kept shrinking after the flood.

Numbers 13: 31-33 “ But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
What these spies did is found verse 32. These spies gave Israel a “bad” report. The word “bad” can also be translated as “evil” in other translations. The point is the word “bad”. The word bad means poor in quality, not correct, inaccurate, incorrect, faulty, mischievous, poor, ect. The word "evil" means morally wrong or bad,immoral, wicked, harm, mischief, cause harm.
Basicly the spies LIED about the report they gave, meaning that they lied about Anak’s decencendants being Giants (Nephilim) and that they ( the spies) looked like grasshoppers. It is a false and inaccurate report about the land, this land is the Promised land.. There is no giants or nephilim like some are lead to believe. This evil or bad report the spies told, made Israel complain and murmur against God, because the report put fear in Israel and made Israel not wanting to go into the Promised Land, this made God upset and slandered God.
What did God do with the spies that gave this bad report or false report, it is found in Numbers 14: 36 and 37. Numbers 14: 36 & 37 “ Now the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report of the land, 37 those very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the LORD.”
The “bad” or “evil” report meaning false, the LORD struck them down with a plague. The spies Lied about the report. There were NO GIANTS. Satan's seed of Lying was in these spies. Notice in verse 36 "bad report" and in verse 37 "evil report" is used so this wickedness and malicious of the spies is really emphasized. Some translations instead of using "bad report" or "evil report" use "spreading false rumors". The KJV uses the word "slander".
Even using Numbers 14:6-9 Caleb and Joshua were among those that spied on the land. They gave a good report saying the land flowed with milk and honey. Caleb and Joshua said NOTHING about Giants (Nephilim). God spared Caleb and Joshua, they were not struck down by a plaque. The spies that told an evil report were telling a lie and did not want to go into the land.
Most people do not realize or take notice to Numbers 14. Interesting when most people use Numbers 13: 33 for this angel view for the Giants (Nephilim) and looked like grasshoppers are falling into the faults of the report the spies told. The report the spies told is misleading. Most people do not take notice to the rest of the scripture. Think of the story the spies told as a "Fish Story", just a overly exaggerated story with no truth.
How the spies used the word giant in verse 33 would be bullies or tyrants, but the bad report or to say the lie they told about these Giants (Nephilim) NEVER existed.
Caleb and Joshua never gave a report like that, and Caleb and Joshua were with the spies.

My bible, sir, tells a different tale. (BTW there is only 1 bible, the KJV 1611, but thats another argument you can lose at a different date. Numbers 13:32 states, "And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched..." The word evil in no way indicates that the spies were giving an inaccurate account of their findings, rather a very accurate account of what they had witnessed. The spies go on to say that the men therein are of "great stature", 13:33 "And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."

king Og of Bashan was the last of the Giants ( Deuteronomy 3:11 ). He must have been over 12' tall.
He was around 10-12 feet tall since a bedstead is always slightly bigger than the person it is for.

I have done my own Giants study. Using the Bible alone, I have discovered that there are 4 categories for the term giant. I have also made other discoveries, such as a second group of fallen angels and that Goliath was not a true giant. Very interesting study.
I have also looked to the Dead Sea Scrolls, Josephus, the Septuagint and even a bit of the Book of Enoch, but have used the Bible as my main source.

I used to follow this line of thinking myself, until I researched scripture more thoroughly.In the Old Testament no one is called a son of God unless it is a direct creation of God, therefore, Adam and the angels. Notice in Job where the sons of God came with Satan into the presence of God. These were angels. Humans are not referred to as “sons of God“ until after the resurrection when we can be born again. Therefore, the sons of God in Genesis had to be angelic beings. But praise the Lord it is not these specifics that saves us, and may we all continue to thoroughly search the Scriptures. God bless.

"that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives, whomsoever they chose".
Do you feel that angels need wives?. So that verse logically not relates with Angels, who are actually spirits, and they don't need any wives.
In the next verse
Genesis 6:3
"And the LORD said: ‘My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for that he also is flesh; therefore shall his days be a hundred and twenty years".
If Spirit like angels sinned with fleshly wives, who are actually females, then why GOD have to get angry with all men? So, logically that chapter not speaks about Angels.

Sons of GOD are men, because adam was created in the image of GOD, but not Angels.
The only reason an individual is a son of God is because of faith in a sacrifice for sin, that is why person is born again. The sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross a person is born again and the Holy Spirit indwell the believer.
In the OT to be a son of God is basically the same. The sons of God presented burnt offerings to God in faith.Burnt offerings unto God with a sacrifice for sin on the Alter. The person presenting the sacrifice was the head of the household. Some like Job would be as son of God or also called a patriarch.

Link these TWO verses together to understand the sons of God., Job 1:5 is a presentation to God with burnt offerings. Job 1:6 the sons of God presented themselves.
Genesis 5 lists the sons of God. That same genealogy line is in Luke 3 listing the sons of God. In Genesis 6 when it mentions sons of God, the Author is just summarizing Genesis 5 into a title called sons of God. Burnt offerings were presented in the time period of Genesis 5. The first recorded burnt offering is found in Genesis 4 when Abel presented his offering to God. God rejected Cains offering, but accepted Abel's. When Cain murdered Abel, Seth stepped in the place of Abel in presenting these burnt offerings. Angels can not be called sons of God, because, angels have no need for a sacrifice for sin, like a burnt offering on the Alter or Jesus sacrifice on the Cross. The burnt offerings are a foreshadowing of the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross. God does not require burnt offerings anymore. The sacrifice for sin that matters is what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Both sacrifices (Alter and Cross) are by Faith that a person is made righteous before God. Both sacrifices had blood shed to atone for sin.
The angel view came from Josephus in the 1st century
With Josephus's angel view has errors. Here is just some
1) The angel view redefines marriage saying that angels can take wives (Genesis 6)
2) Goes against God's order for creation because each kind produces after it's own kind (Genesis 1)
3) Angels are always referred to as messengers in scripture, not sons.
4) Angels are not biological creations and do not have a blood line. Genesis 5 and Luke 3 are blood lines in the Bible. If you notice Genesis 5 is listed in Luke 3. Genesis 5 is the sons of God that Genesis 9 is referring to.
5) It is a very OLD view influenced by mythology
Compare Josephus's angel view to Mythology
God had the OT written in Hebrew, but the NT was written in Greek. For this to happen the Greek language had to become popular, how that happened is with the Greek Empire (332-146 BC) influenced the Jews (Hebrews). When the NT was written, it was written in Greek. Since the Greek empire influenced the Jews, so the Greeks language impacted how the NT was written. What also happened is Greek mythology crept in as well.
The Greeks believed that Zeus one of their pagan gods came down to earth and impregnated Alcmene a mortal human women and she gave birth to Hercules, sounds like Genesis 6.Angels taking wives and producing half human and half angel demi-gods.
Even way back to Christ pagan and mythological beliefs existed. The Jews always were effected with pagan beliefs and practices.
When Josephus in the first Century is the person who is credited for the angel view, when it came to Genesis 6, a person can tell what his thinking was with who the sons of God are. Josephus was in ERROR and his thinking triggered a domino effect. No such thing as angels producing offspring with humans, it comes from Greek mythology.

The 'Satan' in Job is just a regular man that is acting as an 'adversary' to Job. This person is NOT a supernatural angel or being. Nowhere in Job does it say that this person 'Satan' is going back and froth between heaven and Earth. People misread it and think that. What it really says is, "And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going *to and fro IN the earth, and from walking up and down IN it* . Another thing is most people assume that the 'serpent' in Genesis is also 'Satan' a supernatural angel ... but it is not. Think about it. What is the punishment to the serpent in genesis ? Crawl on its belly for the rest of its days (implying it will also die) . Angels can not die so it can't be an angel. Then also the 'Satan' in job is not the serpent from genesis as he is seen walking around. Can't walk around if you have no legs and can't walk around if you are dead.
All of this stuff about Satan and fallen angels and nephilim hybrids is complete garbage. There are no fallen angels, not even one. Not even this 'Satan' character. There other ancient names and words that are translated in modern Albanian and haven't even changed throughout the millennia. For example Aphrodite in Albanian she is called Aferdita. Afer in Albanian means Near, and Dita means Day. You can check any dictionary, its the same. Basically means Morning Star, the other name for planet Venus which is what Romans called Aphrodite.

I am one of those strange Christians who can see angelic beings and other spiritual beings. I have been in the ministry for nearly 40 years. I am nearly 70. In the last two years, God has allowed me to see angels and other beings who are nearly 100 feet tall. One was standing on a stage behind a gospel singer. I looked around and apparently nobody else could see him. The other one was trapped under heavy stone boulders. I was praying and prophesying to the trapped angel from the book of Revelations.I was screaming loud speaking in another language. He was trembling and looked absolutely terrified. But the territories outside Eden, and implicitly the rest of the world, were already populated by Sapiens, who used to live freely and, contrary to the Adamites, the Sapiens always been encouraged to procreate offsprings. Sapiens' age began long way earlier than Adamites, further to south.
These humans weren't as much cultured as Adamites, who had the fortune to live shoulder to shoulder with the Elohim in the ganeden, and their genetic inheritance wasn't pure as the Adamites ones. However, Cain found a woman and fathered his offsprings.
Then the great flood occurred, that can't be a worldwide event, to be clear, because the land-water system in this planet hasn't the quantity of water enough to cover all the lands. Therefore the biblic great flood had to be local, somewhere around today's Turkey and Armenia.
If someone of Cain progeny made it to leave in time, then probably survived the great flood.

This one time I woke up around 3 am morning. I woke up and opened my eyes slowly. Standing 8 feet away from me something was floating in the air. Nephilim is translated as giants in the King James Bible.
In Numbers, it describes the scouts sent to spy on the land of the Canaanites as witnessing the sons of Anak, the Nephilim, as "being like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them"...The book of Enoch describes the Anak or Nephilim as being giants among men, the men of old, the warriors that destroyed all that lay before them and even resorted to devouring their enemies.
I'm of the opinion that none of that is conjecture. I see the carvings on the Sumerian archeological finds and the Egyptian temples that depict a race of men that clearly have wings attached, and some have the appearance of a man with a heavy beard and adorned with fine clothing...and then some depict the same human form with heads of birds, lions, bulls, and other creatures.

I believe part of that is also to rid the earth of these hybrid beings that according to the Scriptures, had brought forth an unholy union of the Sons of God and the daughters of men.

They want back into bodies to enjoy their flesh. They are wicked. To ignore that, is to ignore a large point as to the strategic plan of God to put down the fallen third seed, he did not make. Job 1:6-plainly states the "sons of God came to present themselves before God, and Satan came with them. I think it's self explanatory. The "sons of God," have to be angels in this context. Job is the oldest book of the Bible...written before Genesis...and the author is still debated.
If the "sons of God," in this text were indeed human...why wouldn't Job be recorded as presenting himself before God. Humans could not present themselves before God. Moses could not even look upon God. Exodus 33:19-23. Furthermore in Deuteronomy 34:10-No prophet had ever been like Moses who knew God face to face.

Not just the book of Enoch says the sons of God are angels. Josephus says they're angels, as well as the Bible itself. The angels that mated with human women were a second group of fallen angels. 2 Peter, Genesis and Jude talk of them, and Job confirms "sons of God" is talking about angels.

No they are not aliens. The Nephilim are the descendants of the Fallen Angel's and the human women. Read the Book of Enoch. He explains everything. They are the reason for Noah's Flood. Father God was protecting the lineage of Jesus so it would not be tainted by the DNA of the 'Watchers'. The giants were not 'picky'. There is a significance generally overlooked in the debate about whether "sons of God" were fallen, angels. The one menace that permeates the Old Testament and which is equally evident in the New Testament epistles is the intermarriage between those that worshiped God and the corrupt godless human society. If the implication in Genesis 6 is that of intermarrying of the descendants of Seth and the descendants of Cain (and I think not only does the two genealogies strengthen the case for Godly and ungodly intermarriage, but the mention of Tubal-Cain’s sister, Naamah. Naamah means fair/ pleasant/ or beautiful. This may then well be some hint as to where the author hints at, the beauty for which the wicked Lamech's offspring was associated. This is the final direct reference to Cain's offspring).
The first case was of Abraham sending his trusted servant, whom many take to be Eliezer from Damascus (Gen.15), to swear on oath that he will go to Haran to get Isaac a wife there from his own relatives. The thought of any alternative was not an option for Abraham. Then, secondly, we read of both Rebecca and Isaac's grief of Esau's taking for himself wives from the inhabitants of Canaan. This strengthened Rebeccah's determination to send her beloved son, Jacob back to Paddn-Aram to take for him a wife from her brother Laban's household. (Incest did not then already count as sin although Lot's daughters were already aware of the stigma of father and daughter intermarriage.

Then; from there we will enter the sad desert journey of the Israelites and their sexual orgies with the Moabite and Ammonite women; the plague that caused the death of many and that was stopped by Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the Son of the high priest Aaron (Read Numbers 25, with special emphasis on verses 6 to 13). Throughout the councils given in the books of Moses and of the later prophets of Israel, this sad theme was also forcibly emphasized as pertaining to the nations of Israel; of Israel and of Judah and which was the cause of the ten tribes having been removed from Israel to Assyria.
To bring in angels as beings able to have sexual relations with women, is, in my view, to miss the lesson intended as a warning of what would become prevalent in later interaction between those that worship God and the ungodly. This is relevant to our times where Christians are all too ready to overlook this when a son or daughter brings home a new lover; a lover they believe they will convert to Christianity; only to discover that they themselves as well as the children born of that marriage, all become apostate and a source of grief to their own family.
Except the Bible makes it clear that "sons of God" is talking about angels, and the Bible talks about a second group of fallen angels.
The second group is mentioned in Genesis, 2 Peter and Jude. And if that isn't enough to convince, the book of Job shows "sons of God" are angels.

Oh wow, I seem to have hurt your feelings. I guess it's true that the truth hurts. I just hope you're not a believer since you are not having the attitude of one. Shame shame. But I will answer these questions.
Looking at the term used in Genesis 6:2,4 the words used are "sons of god" not son of God. Now let us look at this. Before the New Testament was written, the term "sons of God" was only used 5 times. Twice in Genesis, three times in Job. In those times there was no Christianity, no Catholics, ect. Only believers/followers of God and gentiles.
With Genesis, it says that the sons of God saw the daughters of men and took wives and that they went into them and giants were born. No question there.
In Job, "the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them." Obviously it is not talking about human beings. It is talking about angels. And it says the same thing again in Job 2:1.
Then finally in Job 38, God asks Job if he was around when God created all things and if he was around "When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?"
Again, sons of God clearly means angels and not humanity.
And to answer why God wasn't upset with the second group of angels, that answer is clear as well. He WAS upset with them and punished them severely.
Jude 6 states "And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;"
The answer to your question is right in front of your face. The key word to look at is "reserved". Reserve means to hold. God has held and is continuing to hold them in chains. How do I know this? Because of the other key word, "has". The word has is a past tense, meaning it has already happened and/or is still happening. The Bible verse does not state that "He WILL reserve" which would be talking about the future and future happenings.
Another verse to show God was indeed upset with them is 2 Peter 2:4-6
Verse 4 states "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;"
Here are the key words from that verse: did not, delivered, reserved.
Those words show that the past is being talked about, not the future. It already happened, not will happen. Further evidence of that is in the following two verses...
"and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;"
Again, key words: did not, condemned. God did not spare the ancient world, God condemned Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction and ashes. It is clearly talking about what happened in the past, not happening in the future.
And when you put the three verses together, it makes it even more obvious that the past is being talked about, not the future.

As early as the second generation of man, God divided humanity into nations. He separated Cain and his descendants from the Godly line of Adam through Seth (Genesis 4) and established two distinct types of civilization. The Canaanites were given to "the world, the flesh, and the devil." The Sethites were God-conscious. They called themselves by the name of the LORD. But when the two cultures expanded it brought them into contact which resulted into inter-marriage. The Sethites allowed themselves to be influenced and corrupted by the Canaanite women. God became angry and brought catastrophe upon them. Genesis chapter 6 reads: "When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, 'My Spirit will not contend with man for ever...' The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time... So the LORD said, 'I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, off from the face of the earth - men and animals... for I am grieved that I have made them.'" (Genesis 6:1-7) With this He ended an era, and a great civilization passed into oblivion. The people of Noah's time had disobeyed God in every way, including refusing to keep His chosen line spiritually and racially pure. "But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord... He was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God." Because of this he became the founder of a new order based on obedience and service to the LORD.
But two generations later God again separated the families, for Ham and his son Canaan had failed Him. They were excluded from the Godly line and fathered the Canaanites, Jebusites, Amorites, and Hivites, who later "came together to make war against Joshua and Israel." (Joshua 9) But Joshua defeated them and "made them... woodcutters and water carriers for the community and for the altar of the LORD..." Again and again God reiterated the principle:"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: 'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people. Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.'"(2 Corinthians @-18) When the Israelites took possession of the promised land, God told them to "make no covenant" with the inhabitants. He said: "Do not intermarry with them... for they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods, and the LORD's anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you... Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire. For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession." (Deuteronomy 7)
Ezra taught in chapter 9:.The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practises they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other. Therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons." (@-15) Ezra 10:7;9 A proclamation was made and the people were trembling at the heavy downpour of rain yes heavy downpour of rain! They remembered what God had done in Genesis 7 and thought it was about to happen again!! YES HEAVY RAIN!!
When Nehemiah returned from Persia to rebuild Jerusalem, he re-established God's Law. But in doing so he had to decide what to do about 'all the mixed multitude' which had been born in the mean time. Chapter 13 records: "When the people heard this law, they excluded from Israel all who were of foreign descent... Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him... but even he was led into sin by foreign women. Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?" (13:3; 26-29)
Stop following teachings of men no matter how famous and prominent they may be or how compelling their teaching is, they are lies sent to deceive you all. Ask yourselves, are you one of the 'they' Paul mentions in 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine but have itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts.

Jesus here reminds the Sadducees of two parts of scripture. The 2nd part is found in Exodus 3:6, in our old testament. But the first part is not found in our Bible, but only in the book of Enoch. And notice that he calls it Scripture.

Please read 2 Peter 2:4 Jude 1:6-7 and Jude 1:14-15 and Hebrews 11:5-6
The Bible quotes Enoch and speaks of the angels that sinned in Peter being sent to Hell (tartaroō), which are not the sons of Seth. The sons of god is also quoted in Job 1:6 as angels. Jude refers the angels not keeping their proper domain and giving themselves to sexual immorality and strange flesh. Go read it yourself please.
Jude does not say what you are saying. Do not just read those 2 verses 6,7. Read the context. Jude is mentioning several classes or groups of people and their death or outcome. The angels left their heavenly places when they went against God, not because they were doing any sexual fornication. Angels cannot procreate as said by Jesus. The angels left their habitation prior to the making of man because they rebelled against God and His Son in heaven.

Beautifully put. In the end God saw the wickedness in humans and destroyed them (most of them). Jesus said the end would be like the days of Noah. I see so much wickedness it makes me wonder if His patience is wearing thin again. I know He times everything, but this still has to irk Him.

Jip and copout. Everywhere inside of Scripture and extra-biblical literature sons of god are always without exception angelic beings. Also the context of Enoch which is brought into the New Testament and even quoted by Jude, is calling them "angels that sinned". Also Nephilim does mean giants, you should know that if you teach Hebrew, there is another word that is very similar to nephilim is often mistaken for fallen ones. These giants are unmistakenly throughout the Hebrew Bible where Yahweh put a ban on them, to wipe them out, just as their parents did to mankind where they ascended on Mount Hermon from the same word meaning to put a ban on.
I feel that since this was left out, Zondervan either doesn't know this, or doesn't want to teach it, either way, not a good reliable source for me.

Do you feel that angels need wives?. So that verse logically not relates with Angels, who are actually spirits, and they don't need any wives.

Link these TWO verses together to understand the sons of God., Job 1:5 is a presentation to God with burnt offerings. Job 1:6 the sons of God presented themselves. The same thing is repeated in Job 2:1. The sons of GOD showing their presence in the Altar, and Satan also visiting there.
Burnt offerings were presented in the time period of Genesis 5. The first recorded burnt offering is found in Genesis 4 when Abel presented his offering to God. God rejected Cains offering, but accepted Abel's. When Cain murdered Abel, Seth stepped in the place of Abel in presenting these burnt offerings. Angels can not be called sons of God, because, angels have no need for a sacrifice for sin, like a burnt offering on the Alter or Jesus sacrifice on the Cross. The burnt offerings are a foreshadowing of the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross. God does not require burnt offerings anymore as prophesied. The sacrifice for sin that matters is what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Both sacrifices (Alter and Cross) are by Faith that a person is made righteous before God. Both sacrifices had blood shed to atone for sin.

If you are a professor in a seminary they won't keep you if you step out of line and teach anything radical. Although, Genesis 6 is radical and it does speak about giants and something so bad that God had to destroy the world.

1) The term Bene Elohim is only used to refer to angels in the O.T.
2) 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6 make it clear that the group of creatures who sinned with these women were angels, not humans.
3) The Nephilim of Canaan are described as fearsome giants in Numbers 13:33 and Amos 2:9.
4) There are MULTIPLE extra-biblical legendary accounts of a warrior race called demigods that usually have heavenly beings as fathers and human women as mothers. Hercules, Perseus, and Achilles are examples, although in the case of Achilles, the heavenly parent is his mother. Like the flood "myths" of multiple cultures, there are so many of these legends that it is clear that they have an actual historical basis, and Gen 6:1-4 is the perfect explanation for the actual historical events that transpired.
Since the idea that angels would stoop so low as to seduce and assault human women is very disturbing, there are many believers who will look for any explanation that they can to dismiss it, no matter how many logical fallacies there are in the Sethite and other dissenting viewpoints.
